Best Homelands card: Primal Order
I actually have a playset and ALWAYS have this card, three copies, in my sideboard whenever I run green in my Legacy deck. I actually have a set ready for BOO draft. Here is one of my favorite cards. Hope you guys like it. ![]() I couldn't remember the name of the artist. Sorry. The basic idea is copied from the Chrono Legionnaire in Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2. He gives blue some kind of removal. I also got the Guitar Hero keychain looking thing in my cereal. Mine was red. |

When I was starting to play, my local shop had a ton of Homelands packs for real cheap. My allowance at the time (I was in middle school) would let me get a pack a week of Odyssey/Onslaught, or two packs a week of Homelands. I figured quantity beat quality, and so I wound up with way too many unplayable Homelands cards, and nearly nothing playable in what was the current standard. They're just so bad, I can't believe I ever won with some of these cards. Dwarven Pony, though, would have to be my favorite. I won with it, getting an unblockable dwarf to sneak through my opponent's goblins for the win. Such good times.
Tom: With your Puca's Mischief deck , something that might help you deal with colfenor's plans is Jace. He gets you more cards from out of the plans, he gets you cards in your graveyard for your coils, if you can ramp up to his ultimatum, and, best of all, he's doing all this without messing with your 1 spell per turn. He'll also work great in your Sanity Grinding deck. For your sanity grinding deck, Noggle Ransacker and Dream Fracture seem as smaller ways to mill your opponent bit by bit, and it would let you play crackleburr, which I just love. It's less dedicated mill, but it's more fun, and I'd love to see a good way or crackleburr to work. |

Hi there!
Good show as usual...I just wanted to point out, as an european, that you can indeed drink tapwater in europe (even if you come from the USA...) !!!!! See, european countries have laws and regulations to ensure that you can drink it...it may not taste especially well in some places (Barcelona, for example) but it is definately drink-able. I am currently living in Lisbon and I'm drinking tapwater all the time (and I still haven't grown fins...). Ah...By the way...when I was in Africa (Cameroon) I ate some bugs (well, in fact they were palm-tree worms) and they were TASTY. TOM: For your mill deck, you can try Memory Erosion...Another card with Memory on the name that works well at milling! Favourite Art: It has to be Unlimited's Unholy Strength. I'm not in a Diabolic Sect or anything, but I remember that that card was in the first booster I opened, as I was considerably younger then it shocked me a bit...But Demonic Tutor is another good one (I loved Douglas Shuler art...)

Umm... Gavin, who told you not to drink the tap water?!
Congrats on T8ing that draft tournament! Sounds seriously awesome - I want to play! And congrats on the cruise qualifier thing too... though it must be kinda frustrating to come so close and not win. Favourite Art: Simic Guildmage As for BOO cards, I'll put them them in a cut so I don't spam your comment thread too much!

I definitely drank the tap water in several European countries... repeatedly.. and had zero problems. My girlfriend kept telling me I shouldn't be drinking it, but I ignored her

It's not Europe with the water problems. Slightly dangerous in some African and Asian countries, but even there, the dangers are much smaller than people are making them out to be.

Great job as always guys. Keep it up.
![]() It says (in case you can't read it): After all cards have been drafted name one player. You look through all cards that player drafted. Choose one of those cards and exchange this card for the chosen card. |

Best Homelands card is probably Merchant Scroll, certainly if you look at Eternal.
Memory Lapse saw some play as well. Never actually heard about Primal Order. Doesn't sound half bad. Hm, Serrated Arrows is decent. Death Speakers, I guess? Curse you for making me sift through that set! I guess they had a good reason to include Apocalypse Chime. Berlin =/= Germany =/= Europe. I live in Austria and have never seen a Dunkin Donuts here. Actually, Dunkin Donuts sounds like something very "American" to me. Chalk me up for that book of yours, though. Maybe I'll find some then Not drinking tap water? Who sold you that bridge? I mean, I am still alive. Balding, granted, but alive. The water you were getting was probably mineral water, not soda (although I am now myself judging by local standards). Yeah, it tastes like water with bubbles. It cleans out squat. For a short time (I guess people are not that stupid), one brand of mineral water here even had a big "0% FAT!" label on it. Creepy. Crag Puca is kind of underwhelming. You have to keep mana open, and, as you said, it dies to Shock should you dare activate it. Its flavor text does have a reference to mischief, though. I am actually considering giving up on Magic as I write. The reason being, I don't get to play much and could easily make a few thousand € on ebay ... @ Guitar Hero: "Is the mike still on?" Mask of ... Boo! Artifact - X Mask of ... Boo! comes into play with X +1/+1 counters on it. Tap: Gain control of target permanent you don't control with converted mana cost equal to or less than the number of +1/+1 counters on Mask of ... Boo!. That permanent's controller gains control of Mask of ... Boo!. Mask of ... Boo! becomes a -0/-0 creature and loses all abilities. Basically, you kidnap a permanent but give your opponent a creature in return. I thought it might be fun to have this kind of dynamic, especially since it works well with common Draft effects like bounce and even combines well with cheap kill and artifact destruction. It should handle anything problematic you'd otherwise have to sideboard for (which might be more likely in a BOO draft) unless it's symmetrical. It can also steal a dork with an interesting ability quite cheaply. The original came into play as a copy of a creature (but without text), and then the control was exchanged. Wording didn't work out. At all. Also, the original name was "Mask of (dramatic pause) Boo!". Well, that was kind of disjointed. A prime example of my 4:00 attempt at humor, too. Oh well. Anyway, good show. Last edited by Noman Peopled : 11-12-2008 at 08:57 AM. |

my new favourite art is the gangsta aven on Indestructible Aura, brother be brushing off those spells like it ain't no thang. For the Boo draft there should definitely be an mtgcast charm, something like choose one: put a -1/-1 counter on any number of target creatures, or draw two cards, or draw three cards (Tom loves blowfly infestation, Derek loves drawing cards, and Gavin REALLY loves drawing cards).

Cool show guys.
BOO Draft sounds really awesome, especially if you decided beforehand to design in a certain setting; for example, Shards BOO would need to fit into a shard, and you could make a design limit on cards per Shard as to limit making one far too powerful.

Hei dont bash on magic-league, while there are some "noobs" if you go deeper into a tournament(trial/master), the level increases too. In minis it can vary from time to time, but the overall level is fine.
Now great show Heres my card: 1 Information Instant Information is blue Look at target players hand. If you draft this card, you may reveal it any time, each player shows their last 3 picks to you, you may play this ability only 1 time during the draft. If you do that, you have to play this card in your draft deck(search your library for this card and show it to your opponent before each game). Last edited by KeySam : 11-13-2008 at 04:08 AM. |
