Anyhoo, Good job on the article there. Although you completely ended up voiding what you said in the 2nd paragraph, lol, it was very detailed; I like it, very informative.
I laughed when you brought the whole thing up about Elspeth because I think we both neglected her a while ago in the old Kith thread when she was first spoiled. But you're right, she deserves the apology.
I also find it pretty funny about your vision on Merfolk because I've actually been following that thread lately, and tested it on mws(ew I know), and I have to agree...it could really be something to watch out for.

Anyways, too bad you couldn't go far in the tourney. Def feel bad for the Quillspike matchup haha, but seems to me you just ran out of gas/answers, oh well, can't answer everything.

Tough break man, you just have those days. Good article, well written as usual.

Just ignore Psi's comment as he obviously has something going for his display picture. If you've got a lolli complex, who cares?! (Well, other than the young girls of course)

Nice article. I liked the flow of it. I don't think it matters about sleep too much. I got a lot before the tourney and look how I did.

Well written, as usual, Shin.

Damn it all! I told you we should have gotten some sleep Friday Night!

My day started out facing T2 double Thoughtseize, taking a pair of Wizened Cenn from my hand. I could never recover against the two-time Champ. The day went downhill from there. Four Faeries decks in the first five rounds! Can you believe that crap? Oh, well. It was, indeed, my first large tourney (work and family always interferred before) and was everything I thought it would be. I don't think I'll every need to worry about being nervous again at any FNM, though.

Again, nicely written, interesting article, Shin.

Oh..."I love you, Miley"?

Yeah, we were near the window on the room side of the table. The rest of that end of the table were all from Gamer's Sanctuary in Flint.

I said it wouldn't be the usual kind of report, and it wasn't.
Thank you, though.

I was sitting at the table directly to the right as you walk into the main tournament room. I don't think we had anyone else at our table til later on, though I suppose it's possible. I'll be there again on the 29th for the PTQ, so maybe I'll see you there?

That's true, although we both know I'm just better than you.

Haha, just kidding buddy.

Default A question

Hello Shin and nice article.

I'm quite qurious about your Quillspike-matchup. You stated:

Quote:
I topdeck Puppeteer Clique facing down a full board. I cast it, snagging his Cloudthresher, then swing with it. The next turn he swings in at me, and I block with my flier. He dies, persists, and clears the air. I'm left a 3 life, and he's at 6.
This would not work as the 'Treshers CiP-ability would kill the Clique, letting you get a second creature right after the Clique persists back in.

Was this just a mistake from both of you or was there some mistake in the text. You stated that the Clique persists during your opponents turn and somehow clears the air. This just seems so ambigious that it started bothering me.

Otherwise very well written article that was quite entertaining.

Nice article again Shin. I didn't make it to states this year, partly because I don't play constructed that much (limited ftw), but I sure heard about the night at the following FNM from Ari. Most people in AA were talking about it. Mostly complaining about Pandemonium's small cramped rooms and the...smell that exuded. I was only there once, for the Shadowmoor prerelease, so I definitely could relate. I kinda miss the tournies in Taylor because that hall was so ... open.

I should definitely go to the next one.

Was a nice article, i enjoyed reading it, and thank you for the congrats.

I did feel sorry for Ari tho, mana screw and jew jokes in the final game of a state championship, not to mention some of them were coming from my crew. =\

Although it did keep the atmosphere a little less tense from my side of it, which is always good, and i agree, judge dave is THE BEST JUDGE EVER.

Oh and one more thing... RANGERS!
