I was browsing around on the John Avon site and came across these beauties. I haven't heard word yet of the 2008 MPS land set that Japanese players are spoiled with every year (John Avon did the Lorwyn ones for 2007) but from the description this sounds like it will be the next set. I wish they would let other countries get these land sets too.
Enjoy the art!
EDIT: Confirmed later in thread as MPS 2008 lands, pictures in post 6's link.
Hehe that would be very expensive! MPS Lands average about $5 to buy them on auction sites - Islands are even more expensive than the rest usually. I love the Lorwyn MPS Swamp and Plains so it ends up being such a burden... I need to make friends in Japan! Or Wotc should let other countries get a chance...
IU posted that link, because i Made cards using those Arts in MSE. I gave John the credit for it, i would have LOVED to use them in decks for paper, but they are against the rules (which i still find is Bogus and stupid, as they are just basic lands. (i was going to print them on Cardstock and put them in sleeves. so they were legal. just not "Legal" because they weren't printed by WotC.

I have to say, it seems that John Avon used the "target audience" as inspiration for the look of these lands as i think John Avon usually does lands in a realistic style. To me, they look like those gorgeous backgrounds that some anime/anime OVAs have.
Or is it just coincidence? Nevertheless, they're all spectacular on their own right.

I don't have any hard numbers on this, but I'm targeted more often than a black guy driving a beat-up sedan with a broken tail-light and no license plate, and Cy's well aware of that.
Wonder how much it's going to cost me to get about twenty of each <_<
To give you an idea the Lorwyn MPS Island goes for around $7-12 in Foil on a popular auction site. So it's gonna cost a reasonable amount of money, plus the Esper Island looks the best of the bunch whereas the Swamp and Plains of Lorwyn look the best... I'd estimate the Esper Island will be over the $10 mark - but I haven't even seen one listed yet! I actually prefer lands in non-foil though since you can see the art clearer and you don't get nailed by foiling rulings.
I think the best option is to try and track down a Japanese site or person which sells them. I'm sure the only reason they're so expensive is cause "a popular auction site" (I wonder why we always have to beat around the bush about the site name :p) doesn't really have a large Japanese userbase so there's only one or two shops that sells them.
I wonder if MPS lands are a good investment and they'll be the Guru lands of the future or maybe you go over to Japan and they're as common as cheese - either way the Japanese market gets spoiled rotten with exclusive promos

That's exactly what I was thinking! In any case, like with anyone else I would love to have these, but for the time being that is not a possibility due to limited budget =( .

Hmm. Yeah, this'll be an expensive undertaking then, much like my APAC/EURO land quest

I've only seen this happen with ancient, halfpipe-curved Urza's and Masques block foils. Modern foils don't curl up like the old ones did, so there's no reason to worry about getting hit with marked cards-pattern for using new-frame foils.

There's been some discussion on this before and it has happened recently with people being forced to find non-foil versions of cards, especially in the case of the Promo Figure of Destiny. Strict judges at high level tournaments sometimes insist on you having a mostly random distribution of Foil and Non-Foil cards in your deck to eliminate a pattern. Therefore you should avoid only having Foil lands in your deck. Modern foils do still curve to some extend and can be discernible.
Enjoy the art!

I agree, it must be one of the Elven or Human villages though since the live in the Jungle and the Catwarriors live higher up.
