it was a nice surprise today when the mailman gave me a little colorful envelope. When I opened it, I was astonished to see some beautiful Conflux playmats with land arts. Yeah, it seems that Exotic Orchard is NOT the only land in the set indeed.
So let's roll......first, for white, we have an Ancient Ziggurat by John Avon:
Hmmm.....we have seen these on Naya, but this is Bant, is it?
What about blue? Yes, Reliquary Tower, made for you by Jesper Ejsing:
Interesting....looks like Bantian tower under Esper clouds...these Knights of Reliquary are probably a bit confused now....
Give some love to Grixis as well, yes? Rupture Spire by Jaime Jones
Etherium on Grixis? Why not....
At Jund, many things are volatile and unstable....especially Unstable Frontiers by John Avon.
Seems like pieces of Dregscape falling into Jund lava lakes...
And last but not least Exotic Orchard, by Stephen Belledin:
Etherium trees....hmmm
Enjoy, people, and thank you, mister mailman!!!

This is confusing... if Exotic Orchard is on the green mat, that definitely seems to indicate it is part of a cycle of lands, that are somehow each centered around a color...
Maybe it's just randomly there? and the other 4 lands are all independent, and not part of a cycle?
It doesn't really make sense...
EDIT: actually, there's a trend, that each shard has a characteristic piece of the shard right next to it. This would make it seem like Exotic Orchard would have some Jund in it, but the picture doesn't look that way... maybe this is a cycle with only 4 parts?
EDIT again: if Naya has Etherium in it, which the exotic orchard looks like it does, that seems very unsymmetrical, because the Grixis land definitely looks like a big esper tower too
So, can we verify that all of these gorgeous looking arts are land arts? Or are they just a cycle of arts that represent the "bleedover" between the Shards? (I ask because of the 2 "etheriumed" artworks, and black and blue are already allied...)
Hmm interesting
Maybe the lands are part basic and have some add on of another shard. The "background" parts of the art look like basics, but there is more in the middle.
The lands are part basic, come into play tapped, pain land for other color/shard?
Were we wrong about Orchard?
I'm glad they're nonbasic lands, this time around. However, I don't so much like that green's art is touched by etherium, as well as Grixis. Keep the cycle flowing.
The arts are impressive, however.

[Imagine scantily-clad women in a leud embrace,

Most likely, there actually is a Jund => Naya land to complete the cycle, but for these playmats they used Exotic Orchard's picture instead. Maybe they just thought it looked better?
Sure thing naya has farms, but in Naya you don't get to see the sky so freely, because of all the vegetation covering the plane. I also think that art is from Bant.

Something is wrong with the orchard, the spoiled abilities has nothing to do with the art or its name and it is clearly is a part of a cycle. Probably it was a false information or zesty confused its name(ahem)....
Just because it is in these playmats doesn't mean it is part of a cycle.
I feel quite confident in the Orchard as spoiled.

Ancient Ziggurat: Naya on Bant
Reliquary Tower: Bant on Esper
Rupture Spire: Esper on Grixis
Unstable Frontier: Grixis on Jund
'Tar Pit': Jund on Naya
I wonder what they do?
This seems very good, except I'm pretty sure we haven't been able to really find another name which could fit the 'tar pit' land. If we could though, this seems like a good idea.
I'm wondering, did the names actually come with the playmats, or is OP just guessing/assuming? Probably it's the mats breaking a cycle, then, while there is still just one rare, non-colored land (Exotic Orchard) and 5... uncommon (? probably) lands, that are part of a cycle.
These playmats probably gives us a land cycle because every land represents a color and they have something in common, all of them show us foreign landscapes in another shards. Of course there is a possibility that they depict random land pictures from the set on them, though unlikely. In addition i cant imagine a land named ''orchard'' not giving us green mana and instead a random one. The artwork is totally wrong with the spoiled ability.
The Exotic Orchard artwork doesn't depict etherium. It doesn't even look like etherium. Just because they're on playmats doesn't mean they're part of a cycle. The Shards of Alara set of land-art playmats showed a shard that wasn't that land's primary color for 4 out of 5 of the mats (ex: Grixis on the island mat), yet didn't contain an artwork from Bant, rather it had two from Naya (Forest and Mountain).
In addition i cant imagine a land named ''orchard'' not giving us green mana and instead a random one. The artwork is totally wrong with the spoiled ability.
Forbidden Orchard is multicolor.
Also, it makes perfect sense. The orchard is channeling an Esper opponent, so it is getting ready to tap for mana of that type.
Saying that exotic orchard doesnt depict etherium is like saying that an elephant is not an elephant, its a cat. At least learn how etherium looks like before you post... Anyway they might not be a part of a cycle(who can really tell for sure?) but the artwork reminds me of a green land with etherium blue-artifact element in it. I cant see how i can get black or red mana from that land. Also i cant find a reason why not to produce green mana in first place.
The point remains - if these were a cycle of lands, Jund, not Esper would be 'intruding' on Naya, and Exotic Orchard shows...Esper trees. Doesn't really look like any shard really.

Well, I guess all of them do, but Exotic Orchard really caught my eye.

and of course, big thanks for the Pictures!
But now the question is, if Exotic Orchard is green affiliated will it also be able to tap for G regardless of your opponent's mana?
And what does that mean about the other lands which are supposedly not rare?

Bant is also the location for two of the lands (Ancient Ziggurat and Exotic Orchard), so it would seem to be suggesting something about the story.
