[RAV] Some Red Cards (Smash, Lizardman, Fiery Conclusion)

Got a PM from a source who has provided good information in the past, here's what it said:

As for rarities, Smash is common...as it was before, and the other two are probably commons as well. Thats my guess of course.

It looks like they are taking defender and running with it, finally. Making 'walls' that make sense.

The lizard is a good limited card, and wonderful with the Conclusion.

well, they all seem reasonable enough. losing 3 mountains just so it can attack is a harsh drawback.

Fiery conclusion is like goblin grenade only for creatures and at 1 mana more for the benefit of not having to play goblins.

Hmm...well it's good to hear some stuff getting reprinted now. Red cantrips always make people happy.

The lizardman seems kinda.....well....bad I guess if you need to sac three mountains to lose defender. Although a 3/2 wall for

that doesn't die when it blocks [cinder wall ] is really good.

The shrapenal blast vs. creatures is interesting.

More cards=Happy!

Nice! Man these sources are a heck of a lot more excited about giving us Rav info than Saviors! This blocks rumour season should be sweet if these finds are indicators!

If its a lizardman I would suspect the creature type to be of Viashino as they are the lizardmen-esque race on this realm. Since it is a city where creatures/people/races come to mingle as an economic centre you;re going to have representation from all different planes. I'd suspect we'll have Cephalids, Homarids, Faeries, Dryads, Gargoyles, etc all coming back for another try at the capitalist dream.

Or to put it another way, it's Reckless Abandon except you pay one more mana for a point of damage and lose the ability to target players. Huh.

Nothing truly exciting. 3 mountains is way too much for it to attack for one turn only. FC is a nice removal card for limited though. Block a fattie with a little guy, then sac and burn.

Now spoil us some gold cards

Fiery Conclusion sounds promising, though.

you also gain the instant speed which is really nice. but all in all its just a rather standard card.

That 5 dmg to creatures is going to be perfectly nice in limited. You can kill most anything by losing a creature that was going to trade in combat already + 1R.

I think that's what "reprint" means... ie: Smash is reprinted. Can that mean something else?

Cool bunch of cards, I love the lizardman/viashino! 3/2 for one is hot... that's going to smash little 1/2s all day long. And the ability to attack is huge icing on the cake for the late game. Sweet flavour, too.

Make a note that the goblin grenade mkIII is an instant making it huge. Both Reckless abandon and Goblin grenade are sorceries. Expect to see the new grenade in many many decks.

Lizardman defender is also freaking awesome. First turn 3/2 that cannot attack and doesn't have any drawbacks? Count me in! And it can attack giving it more possibilities. Having attack 3 you are going to stop lots of things with this baby.

Smash reprint is also nice addition, ok artifact destruction with splashability and card draw attached... Me likes.

This is starting to sound like an awesome set based on what we have currently seen of it. Although these are sounding like too good so I'm doubting if they are really real.

EDIT:
About the rarities; I really doubt these 2 new cards are going to be commons like Seds guessed. My guess would be uncommons, grenade variant might even be a rare. If they are commons few thousand red mages are starting to open champagne bottles right now.

3/2 for R is never bad, even if it has defender. In limited it makes me want to have its children. the 3 mtn sac thing wont be used that often, but when it is, im sure you just won the game. (like doing the last 3 bits of damage).

3 Good cards all around. Firey Ending (or whatever) isnt as fun as Shrapnel (since it only gets creatures) but it isnt terrible.
