Default [RAV] Dimir Cutpurse

Wow, the leaks just keep on coming. It's more like a flood today! WOOOO! I wish my website was as busy as the Rumor Mill.... hint hint.

On AIM I was approached by someone who had partial info on two cards. Using what we know of the set already, we pieced together the following cards. NOTE: He has leaked info in the past but is choosing to do it anonymously through me for the time being. It's still early for info so just be glad we're getting any!

Dimir Cutpurse -
Creature - Spirit (R)
Whenever Dimir Cutpurse deals combat damage to a player, that player discards a card and you draw a card.
2/2

No, I'm not kidding.

So that's the blue/black guild's name - Dimir. "Deh-meer". Actually, it SOUNDS blue/black. Nice. And the flavour - sucking ideas out of someone's head. Not a very nice thing to do AT ALL.

And a little bonus:

##### -
Creature - Human? Soldier? (U?)
Double strike
1/2

That's all he knows for now but he might be able to get more in the future... good luck to him!

/me leaves to vomit because the Cutpurse is SICK *

I second that vomitous attack! Wow. U/B will be a control force to be reckoned with. And my friend's got a good enough discard deck already...

Edit: The soldier looks like common material. Unless there's something we don't know about it, it's pretty bad. Compare to, oh, White Knight. Maybe it's guild mana?

Eep. That cutpurse is right antisocial. Keeping it unblocked should be difficult enough to keep it fair, but heck, just one successful hit, you're up a two cards and two life. Rude.

I actually like the other dude too. Does sound uncommon.

The cutpurse is pretty cool, not sure how good it will be though with no evasion.

Crap, the Cutpurse isn't a Pirate? Raspberries ...

Oh well, at least it's a killer card. Lack of evasion keeps it honest, but blue and black are the two colors deepest with evasion and ways to clear the path. The Spectiphidian ability is simply amazing. Since each guild is tied together by a similar mechanical theme and we've learned that the Dimir guild (neat name, too) are "mind assassins", I wonder if we can expect more guys with the same ability? If so, wow!

I kinda like the lil double striker. Cute.

Thanks RE and source!!

Cutpurse is BUSTED. U/B control is going to be a huge archetype...removal, efficient discard/draw? Sign me up.

On second thought, the double striker may not be so bad - he combos with power pumpers better than white's frequent two-drop first strikers. A sign?

Cutpurse+hippie in T2? Sick.

With just a little removal, you can OWN with those two.

Screw Leaks. This is like a geyser this early

Yeah. That cutpurse is hawt. Talk about playable rares. Did somebody say box? No flying, but when it hits you draw a card? Baloth 2.0, meet Hippie 2.0.

RW man has to be uncommon. Double strike doesn't come in common varieties... yet

A cutpurse being a spirit sounds odd to me. And a spirit being part of a guild doesn't make sense to me either (flavorwise, that is)

The r/w isn't too bad, but the u/b is just silly. No evasion...its u/b, put into the right deck, it won't need any.

I love all these gold cards we are getting, rav is shaping up the way I've hoped it would
