This is my Dromar, the Banisher EDH deck that I just built. I welcome suggestions as I always have when posting my decks. CURRENT UPDATE: 1.3 ~on~ 5/03/09
these are all cards that i have. Now, as you can see, i'm going for a control Scheme. Magister Sphinx can rock the socks off ppl when your playing games. Especially if you get Sunken Hope in, or some other way to bounce the Sphinx.
If you see any cards that raises questions, feel free to mention it. I may have overlooked stuff or I have it there for a specific reason (aka Aven Mindcensor and Plague Sliver)
EDIT: Prison Term will be coming out as soon as i get that Sphinx Tutor guy. can't really remember his name. He can get you an artifact from your library, thus getting you the Magister. Plus, with ALA Reborn out, I'll be sure to make some more modifications.
Not sure if these changes will work with your budget, but I'll post them anyways. Not quite sure what you're going for theme-wise, so I'll just mention some generally good cards in your colors.
Additions:
- Orzhov Signet: You already have the other two, no reason not to run this one.
- Darksteel Ingot: It survives almost everything.
- Mistmeadow Witch: You have some good blink-able guys, like the Magister Sphinx you are apparently fond of, and Mangara of Corondor works nicely with it. This also saves your team from mass-removal effects.1
- Reveillark: it's just as good in EDH as it is in standard. Works great with Mistmeadow Witch, and there are a lot more things you can get back with it, such as...
- Karmic Guide. I put Karmic Guide and Reveillark in every white EDH deck. They are both really good.
- Tidehollow Sculler: if you've ever drafted this card, you should know how to stack his trigger and make him stupid good. If not, you simply bounce him with his triggered ability on the stack. Then, when the triggered ability resolves, the card you pick will stay RFG'd, cuz he won't have a chance to "leave play". Not sure if this works with blink effects or not, someone with more knowledge than I will have to answer that.
- Mulldrifter: good for card-drawing and recursion, and works with your blink/Lark engine.
- Glen Elendra Archmage: takes out any counterspells your opponents might play, also good with Lark/blink.
- Journeyer's Kite: reuseable land searching.
- Terrain Generator: this card is good if you run a lot of basics, which you do. Then again, with three colors there are a lot more good non-basics you should probably find room for.
- Thran Dynamo: Three extra mana every turn is very nice to have.
- Nevinyrral's Disk: The best way to blow up the board. Unfortunately, planeswalkers didn't exist back in its day, so that might be an issue.
- Rout: Instant-speed Wrath is an auto-include.
- Austere Command: The most versatile Wrath available.
- Phyrexian Arena: One life is nothing when you get 40 to start, and one extra card is really good.
- Shadowmage Infiltrator: Just a solid card. Every U/B deck should have one.
- Fact or Fiction: Another solid card.
- Dismantling Blow: A solid W/U card, better than Disenchant.
- Liliana Vess: All planeswalkers are amazing. This one in particular for the tutors.
- Black tutors like Demonic Tutor, Beseech the Queen, Diabolic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, etc, are really good.
- Unmake: Very good spot removal.
- Mortify: See Unmake.
- Mind's Eye: the best way to draw lots of cards.
Cuts:
- One-shot deals like this one aren't very good in huge formats like EDH. You want something that you can re-use again and again.
- Aether Vial: you don't have enough creatures to make this worthwhile.
- Armillary Sphere: This is a one-shot deal.
- Time Bomb: there are better ways to blow up the board.
- Wanderer's Twig: This is a one-shot deal. If you had ways to recur this, it would be good...
- Wayfarer's Bauble: See Wanderer's Twig.
- Evershrike: enchant creatures are generally bad in EDH. Equipment is better because it's reusable.
- Glen Elendra Pranksters: you don't have enough instants to make this worthwhile.
- Agent of Masks: When everyone has 40 life, losing one is not going to matter.
- Looter il-Kor: there are better cards that don't make you discard.
- Infiltrator's Magemark: you don't have enough enchantments or creatures.
- Shadow Lance: kinda weak in this format.
- Yoke of the Damned: kinda weak in this format.
- Boomerang: This is a one-shot deal.
- Brilliant Ultimatum: you don't want to have some of your potentially good cards RFG'd, since you only get one. Fact or Fiction is better.
- Diabolic Vision: This is a one-shot deal.
- Disenchant: kinda weak in this format.
- Eye of Nowhere: same as Boomerang.
- Living End: Living Death is better, and you don't have enough creatures to make this good.
- Ponder: This is a one-shot deal.
- Ray of Command: This is a one-shot deal.
- Sleight of Hand: This is a one-shot deal.
- Soul Reap: Lots of creatures are green.
- Terror: Mortify and Unmake are better.
- Telling Time: See Ponder.
- Unsummon: See Ponder.
- Rend Flesh: See Terror.
- Read the Runes: there are better ways to draw cards without having to penalize yourself.
- Zombify: This is a one-shot deal.
- Pyrrhic Revival: See Living End.
In general, try to go for the biggest, baddest, best possible spells. Anything that penalizes you is generally not worth it, unless it's paying life (you have 40). Also, one-shot deals that can't be re-used are no good, except for sweepers and tutors. Recursion and re-use are the keys.
Thanx for the suggestions. Budget isn't a concern to me. I am after all running with Underground Sea but seriously, i know i can upgrade my lands once i get the money for them. so i don't need to many suggestions there. *unless there's some very good land i'm missing*
as far as what you call a theme, i mentioned i was going for more of control based deck. That's why i wasn't throwing a bunch of critters in the deck. Also, that's the reason for me putting the bounce spells in the deck. I was figuring in a duel, i should do pretty good stopping anything that swung at me. In multiplayer, it would get sketchy. I would have to stockpile any control for when something would cause some serious damage to me.
As for some of the cards you mentioned, I'm running this deck online. So, we don't have Thran Dynamo just yet. But i agree, that extra mana helps. Oh, and when you mentioned Journeyer's Kite, that clicked on a light bulb. lol. That's why i was running the Wayfarer's bauble stuff. i couldn't remember that artifact that searched land.
EDIT: Deck list is updated with some cards i got today from the suggestions.
EDIT: OP has current update on it.
Ok, with Alara Reborn out, I'm wanting to put some cards in here. Question becomes, what do I take out/put in?
Prison Term is one card that will be getting pulled for sure. Remember, I'm sticking with the control-ish theme that you see there.
some of the cards i'm thinking: Enigma Sphinx --I'm liking the fact that he can get himself out of the Grave, and he has Cascade of 7. Which seems like some serious fun, and could be good. I like free spells
Soulquake --this is somewhat interesting, but i'm not sold on it yet. Seems like an overpowered *** effect. (clears the board) but getting your critters out of the Grave seems ok.
that's about all i see out of Alara Reborn. (yea, i know the summoner is from conflux :P)
the mana drain fow moxs dual lands maybe too much for you but at lest some outher cards may give some ideals for you tell me what you think of this deck i just made it some time ago and have not played it alot so tell me if theres anything in it you would add/drop...bye

Sphinx of the Steel Wind --uh, yea. An Akroma for my decks colors? I'll take it
Sphinx Summoner --This is what is currently slated to replace Prison Term. He's a Tutor on a stick.
Soulquake --this is somewhat interesting, but i'm not sold on it yet. Seems like an overpowered *** effect. (clears the board) but getting your critters out of the Grave seems ok.
