[RAV] Boros = w/r guild, keyword name, archangel

From an anonymous source who has provided info during the Kamigawa block comes the names of the guilds and their four keywords. He prefers to remain unnamed but thanks Joe!

Boros, or more fully "Boros Legion", is the white/red guild and the mechanic is called "Radiance".

As a bonus, some info is known about one of the cards from this guild.

The name and toughness aren't known, and there's another ability requiring either mana or tapping.

It's big, and has a tendancy to poke. Looks pretty awesome!

I wonder what the ability is. Could it have something to do with damaging attacking/blocking creatures?

Lightning Angel 4 Sizes larger. Unfortunately probably to expensive for constructed. But fun for casuals and Angel lovers if the Activated ability is good enough, even if it taps there still is vigilance.

Well I can't decide where else to put this, so:

From another anonymous but trusted source, the black/green guild is The Golgari. Their keyword is called "Dredge".

'Dredge' sounds like graveyard-recursion to me.

Can't help. Golgari sounds somewhere familiar. Anyone an Idea, I don't know where I've heard it before.

I think dredge could be the ability of the 4/4 Insect in the Spoiler: "(?) sacrifice this: Draw a card". Would fit to the card Dredge.

Edit: Yavimaya Elder or Plague Dogs anyone?

Or it could be the 'mill cards from library to recur this' mechanic we've seen on a couple of cards. In fact, that's what I'm placing my money on.

Hey! It's Akroma mk 2... 6 power, flying, vigilance, haste, Legendary Angel... Hopefully that activated ability is worth the prot red, prot black, first strike and trample. That's something to aspire to!

Well, the Archangel will be a beast in limited. An absolute monster.

I'm liking the names for both the guilds and mechanics so far. The guild names are just good, and the mechanic names seem so suited to the colours. Nice work, Wizards!

I'd hazard that the ability will be something like mana: target creature gets +1/+1 or some such. As discussed in Maro's article today, giving creatures like that tap abilities is kind of anoying - when you are handed a huge smashy creature, you want to smash people with it. Possibly 1WW, Radiate: target creature gets pro: colour of choice?

the Gate Hound says "creatures you control." i don't believe it's Radiant.

I believe the Angel will be a bomb in limited and since we don't know the activated ability I am cautious about constructed.Who knows??Maybe there will be a form of ''supporting'' from the guild and it will be more playable.
