Well, April is coming to a close and that means that so must this April Fools/Unglued/Unhinged inspired CCL competition I've named Un-Salvaged.
There has been a metric ton of amazing fake Magic card created for this month. There were tears and anger and more than a few laughs (at least from me) but now we are left with just two very able designers: Jimmy Groove and Gerrard's Mom.
But in the immortal words of Gregory Widen, "There can be only one."
I thought that a good way to determine who gets that little trophy this month would be to give them each other's address and voucher to their local flea markets to pick up swords. But Gregory Widen's wisdom only goes so far and I haven't kept up with all of the decapitation laws of Japan of late so I thought it would be best to just offer one more card-designing challenge.
Each of you will have three cards to make.
Card 1: Create an Un-Salvaged card that would be previewed in a Savor the Flavor article. As you probably saw during the Alara Reborn preview period we just got out of, Wizards likes to preview their iconic, flashy cards a few weeks before a new set releases to get players excited to buy them. Your job is design a card that would fit in with the other cards you've created for this month's un-theme and that is flavorful enough to be exposed in the flavor oriented article. This card should have the word "if" somewhere in its text.
Card 2: Create an Un-Salvaged card that would be previewed in a Making Magic article. Same as chellenge one, but this time for MaRo's column. This series focuses (in theory) on designing Magic cards so it should probably show off some interesting un-design you've cooked up. This card should have either "mobius" or "man" in its text.
Card 3: Create an Un-Salvaged mythic rare that would be previewed in its own feature article. They generally reserve the creaziest of the crazy, the flashiest of the flashy, and the greatest of the great for the feature article. These are often the poster children of the whole set. That being said, there is one more restiction: this card's name must have the same name as your opponent. That means we'll get one mythic rare named Gerrard's Mom and one named Jimmy Groove.
You have until about 4pm eastern on Friday (May 1st) (so that I can make a poll before I leave work at 5). No joke. That gives you about three days to make three cards. I know this is kind of crazy, but if anyone can do it it's you two.
Ouch... tough requirements. This will be a real challenge.
I wish you luck, Gerrard's Mom, but I wish myself slightly better luck because winning would be really spiffy.
Rhyme of the Ancient Magic PlayerWWWW
Enchantment (R)
If you should die by soldier's might
By loss of life or poison bite
Then to your hand this card return
And with five life you be reborn.
Custom Man
Legendary Creature - Superhero(MR) 3UU: Reveal Custom Man from your hand and it stays revealed until it leaves your hand. Search your library for four creature cards and remove them from the game. Custom Man gains the mana cost of the first, the creature type of the second, the abilities of the third, and the power and toughness of the fourth for as long as it is in your hand, being played, or in play. "Custom Man, Custom Man. He does anything that anything can."

Gerrard's MomW
Legendary Creature - Human Mother (MR)
When Gerrard's Mom comes into play, put a 0/1 legendary white Human token named Gerrard into play.
At the beginning of your upkeep put a +1/+1 counter on Gerrard.
As long as Gerrard's power is 3 or greater, it has "At the beginning of your upkeep, you gain 1 life for each card in target opponent's hand." and "3W: Tap target creature. Play this ability only if Gerrard is attacking." The mother of all legends. Well, not all of them. Just the one.

Good stuff from Jimmy already, best of luck to you
Meek protest in that my name is way easier to design for than Jimmy's, but no worries, if there's anything I've learned it's that harder challenges can lead to awesomer cards
Well, here we go:
Deck Master4BR
Legendary Creature - Demon Librarian (M)
If a player would draw a card, instead that player must say, “Deck Master, may I please have a (Insert card name here)?” Search that player’s library for the named card and remove it from the game, then that player shuffles his or her library. Flip a coin. If the coin comes up heads, put that card into its owner’s hand.
Deck Master gets +1/+1 for each card removed from the game with Deck Master. “Says here your last Wrath of God was overdue...”
3/3
Möbius Warp3UB
Enchantment (R)
Players can not draw cards or play cards from their hands. Players may play cards in their graveyard. If a card would be put into any graveyard from anywhere, return it to its owner’s hand instead. If Mobius Warp would leave play, remove it from the game instead.
At the end of each player’s turn, that player returns a land and a nonland permanent he or she controls to their owner’s hands, then puts a card from his or her hand on top of his or her library.
Jimmy GrooveWUBRG
Planeswalker - Jimmy (M)
+2: Stand up, shake your groove thing, and up to two target creatures can’t block this turn.
-3: Tell target permanent to “Get down!” then put it on the bottom of its owner’s library.
-10: Double time! For the rest of the game, as long as you are dancing, take an additional turn at the end of each opponent’s turn.

good luck to you guys, it's been fun competing (especially since i made it to the quarter finals even though it's my first time in the CCL). I'll compete again in May.
Oh! I get it now! It's because I'm called Mobiusman and _IF_ is called _IF_! That actually took me a minute >_>
Best of luck to you both; I'm almost glad I don't have to go through this wrangler of a round. I'll be cheering you both, though. *grabs popcorn*
Jeez, way to almost miss my call out to the other semi-finalists
Speaking of that, just to be safe I'll clarify that "if," "man," and/or "mobius" can be on any part of the card's text, be it cardname, rules text, flavor text, or even artist's name.
And in response to GM's protest: I tend to agree that Gerrard's Mom might be easier to make a card out of, but it doesn't open up the possibility to introduce disco to our favorite card game! Therefore, I think you have a huge advantage.
