So after seeing Jenara, I knew I wanted her to be my general...for 1 on 1. I dont own all these cards, but this deck is one I use online and I will trade for most of it. Right now it is a theoretical optimal deck. My goal is to kill w/ general damage. after playing her, I have counterspells and shroud spells to protect her. My main focus is trying to protect her, any other cards for that?
Here is your decklist! (there was some kind of picture involved... :-/)
You may consider Hindering light to protect your General and Steel of the Godhead to make sure it will hit your opponents.
Thank you for editing my deck post......i think Steel of the Godhead is good for this deck, im not sure about the hindering light because it is very conditional...but i could be wrong
what all should I take out? is the earthcraft combo worth it?
the mackenzie is interesting, but I dont think it is a very strong card for the deck
i know this is random...but i was considering playing decree of silence, is there any cards where I could transfer counters from decree to jenara? I know it would be a decent lock, but may be to hard to pull off.....comments?
I like the deck, but I feel the focus around Jenara is not that you want to protect as much as possible, but kill your opponent as fast as possible. If she dies, you will just pay more to get her out, you know. So your entire focus should not be to make her not die. It should be to kill your opponent quickly, because once you run out of juice you don't have crazy finishers. Put pressure on them as much as possible as soon as possible.

Im not quite sure what your leaning towards, are you saying some pump spells? you are right about my win condition....I generally win by survival combo, loam/strip, or control magic there best creature and kill them w/ it.

Not sure what to take out, but Shelter is a favorite of mine. Protects your General or other creature, draws a card, can get through mono-colored defenses, and is great on a stick (Isochron Scepter).
Foil - do you REALLY think you need the unforeseen counter? At that cost?
Control Magic - Nice, but you could do without, or at least replace with something less susceptible to removal, like Legacy's Allure, Dominate, or even get card advantage out of a Sower Of Temptation, especially if you can use some of that general protection to keep the Sower and your tempted creature around.
Absorb - I really think you lean too heavily on counters and this one is harder to cast than most others, except the too goo Cryptic.
Armadillo Cloak should probably be Behemoth Sledge
Alexi's Cloak could also be replaced with Neurok Stealthsuit
And other than as a mana-fixer, Crop Rotation seems to be lacking many good targets outside of two, maybe three lands and none of them are back-breaking. Besides, Loam supports itself by Dredging.
You might want to include Mana Reflection to double the number of counters on Jenara.
I also think you should include an infinite mana combo like: Wirewood Lodge + Krosan Restorer
Sure, there are better combos, but that's a cheap one to acquire. Pumping Jenara infinitely seems hot.
Compulsion seems slow for your deck... how has it performed? I think I'd rather have Merfolk Looter or Thought Courier.
I'm not a big fan of running Polluted Delta and fetch lands that mentioned a basic land type that's not in your general's colors.

hmmm shelter seems fun i may try that out, I almost considered playing isochron scepter because i have 7-8 spells i could use and I could add more

You are right!! the foil has been pretty useless because I usually dont have the island in hand. Personally I like the control magic because I can tutor for it, but I def like that Legacy's Allure. I am switching them out for sure. I will def switch the Armadillo Cloak for the Behemoth Sledge or maybe just a loxodon warhammer?

I dont really want to add a semi clunky combo, but I will definitely take out the compulsion because I have played it and rarely used it. Thank you!! I guess Merfolk LooterThought Courier are the exact same, so I will definitely add one.
I like the delta because it can still get me the duals.

Flagstones of Trokair is a good sacrifice target for Crop Rotation and is just good in general. Worldly Tutor. Cephalid Constable could be another good option.
Is Misdirection doing a lot for you? I think that this may be a weaker card. It doesn't really stop bad things from happening, it just changes the target, and that is only if there is a target and only if you can have a legal target. Maybe Im wrong.

I will definitely add the Flagstones of Trokair. As far as misdirection goes, alot of people I play with alot of targetting spells, but I am definitely willing to switch it out, I just dont know what I would rather have.
I see where worldly tutor could be useful, but I really dont have many creatures I want to tutor for, unless I already have my survival of the fittest
I would like to make this more multiplayer oriented, which mean i would win by combo probably. I think I want to add intuition and maybe like academy ruins, nevinyrral's disk, and some other stuff to possibly abuse academy..thoughts?
Yosei... what's the combo there? The karmic guide thing? So you recur saffi / karmic guide with reveillark to get back yosei... but how do you sac yosei? I'm a bit confused... sorry. Walkthrough maybe? Is it easy to assemble? Seems like any time you draw survival that's what you go for, eh?
Also, tunnelvision... that's dependent upon bant charm and/or hinder right? Am I missing anything else that puts a card on the bottom for your opponent?
Last: what's your opinion on having a trinket mage package with at the very least scroll rack (and land tax...)...
Seems like rack / tax is a sick draw engine that's easy to include if you have trinket mage, enlightened tutor, etc.
Love it. I'll have way more brainstorming to contribute, but I think what you have is a great way to start.
My wife (the deck's ultimate pilot) loves angels and is willing to take a small hit in power to run more of them. I think she'll want to run akroma and exalted angels... any thoughts on easy drops to accomodate these and perhaps baneslayer angel at some point? I'm thinking some utility dudes like mother of runes or pridemage.
Thanks for the help. I'm very glad I found you on here. A big help.
2. Evoke Reveillark and get back Mirror Entity and Karmic Guide who gets back Reveillark.
3. Activate Mirror Entity for 0 about 100 times.
4. First trigger resolves, kills your team and triggers Reveillark who gets back Saffi and Karmic Guide who gets back Reveillark.
5. Sac Saffi targeting Reveillark before the next Mirror Entity trigger resolves.
6. Next Mirror Entity trigger resolves, kills your team and triggers Reveillark who comes back into play and gets back Saffi and Karmic Guide who gets back Yosei.
7. Repeat step 6 for each remaining Mirror Entity trigger, always using Saffi to get back Reveillark. Each time through the loop Yosei will trigger which will allow you to tap all of your opponents permanents and never allowing them to have another untap step.
8. For the very last Mirror Entity trigger, get back Mirror Entity so that you can start the combo again, at instant speed, since Reveillark will be in play and he also works well as a finisher.
You can replace Yosei with Eternal Witness to draw your graveyard, Wall of Blossoms, Carven Caryatid, etc. to draw your library or Essence Warden, Soul Warden, etc. to gain infinite life. If you add blue you can bounce all your opponents permanents with Vensor, Shaper Savant and use Body Double to make the combo less confusing.
concerning trinket mage, it doesnt get tax or rack....it is a good draw engine, but not easily tutored....
I feel like exploration is worth running by itself if what you want is to blast out of the gates with jenara. Maybe even gemstone caverns? Every so often you'll draw them in your opening seven and will get Jenara turn 1 or 2. To that same end, is chrome mox or mox diamond or lotus petal worthwhile?
Also, is gifts ungiven in there? I forget. When in blue, play gifts, right?
More later. This rocks. I'm stoked about the numerous ways you can take this deck. I'd love to hear feedback, dapoonk, about how games have been going for you. How often are you winning with general damage? How often does jenara just eat a terror or something? How do you win the most reliably?

This is a cool idea. Power Conduit might be what you're looking for. You can also try to abuse Decree with Clockspinning, Ferropede, Medicine Runner, Chisei, Heart of Oceans, and Spinal Parasite. Clockspinning seems like the best of the bunch, but all of them can also cause shenanigans with Dark Depths or any cumulative upkeep card.

are there any free counters besides.......?

Except this combo doesn't work. Wirewood Lodge doesn't work on Human Druids.
your right, maybe he meant argothian elder
the rest of the combo he mentioned includes seeker of skybreak.....which means 3 card combo
Cephalid Constable could be another good option.

I'd run Congregation at Dawn instead. A bit rough on the mana but you've got a lot of creature combos you could assemble with it.
any m10 cards for this single player based deck?
maybe an armageddon or would that seem unfair?
here is the combo explanation....
concerning trinket mage, it doesnt get tax or rack....it is a good draw engine, but not easily tutored....
I know the trinket mage doesn't fetch the rack / tax engine, but sterling grove (if you run it) does, and enlightened tutor gets either half. Since my version will likely employ moat, I have extra incentive to run crap like idylic tutor and sterling grove. I was also toying with an artifact-heavy build abusing tolarian academy and artificer's intuition and such.
There's a fun combo you could think about including for the later game since you're running survival of the fittest already: kamahl, fist of krosa and masticore. With enough mana, this will machine gun their lands away. It works best in rofellos, llanowar emissary decks, as it's kind of mana hungry I guess.
Are you going to use crucible of worlds / strip mine / wasteland / exploration?
I feel like exploration is worth running by itself if what you want is to blast out of the gates with jenara. Maybe even gemstone caverns? Every so often you'll draw them in your opening seven and will get Jenara turn 1 or 2. To that same end, is chrome mox or mox diamond or lotus petal worthwhile?
