First I want to say thanks to screaminghippo over at cubedrafting.com for the forumlas for this. I lifted them from his excel program.
The excel sheet at the bottom is a statistical analysis of 8 of the 10 power cubes on this site. (I was going to use Lim_qiens but he doesn't have a text list, and I was using the old version of DerBk's cube thread as a reference and The_scientist's cube wasn't on it.) I would add them (and the non powered cubes) but this is about as much work as it looks like.
The excel sheet examines which cards are the most used. It also shows which cards are similar from cube to cube.
I want to apologize to everyone for cursing at all of you so much. None of you (my self included) can spell one ****ing bit.
these cards were used in all 8 cubes, in total there were 1390 unique cards.
I know it says you used Powered cubes, but mention the P9 in your list, either seperate or just "Power Nine"
I do have a cube topic here, but no excel list, it's at home.
Anyways, I'll go through that list and say which card are NOT in my cube:
Avalanche riders (I never liked paying echo for a 2/2 .. not bad, just imo not worth it)
Dark Ritual (a classic in black, but in a powered cube, there are enough ways of getting ahead of mana, so I choose to play a "real" spell more)
Diabolic Edict (solid removal IF your opponent has one creature only, I do have Chainer's Edict in my cube)
Enlightened tutor (I don't like tutors that put cards on top, I cut Worldy and Mystical as well, I only play Vampiric since it fetches ANY card)
Kiki-Jiki (triple R restricts a lot in which deck you want to play this and the things you want to combine it with are usually in other colors. This card has lots of power but like Necropotence gets cut because of hard to pay mana cost.)
Kird Ape (No, I don't know why but I feel my red 1-drops are solid enough without this guy, but maybe I'll review them one more time)
Kodama of the North tree (This guy has everything, trample, your opponent's can't target, bigger power than manacost, he's great BUT you can't target him as well, and with 4 toughness, that means he'll get killed fast. combine that with a triple green mana cost and he's out. I rather have thornling ..)
Momentary Blink (This saves creatures from spot removal, but not from mass removal. Otherworldly Journey does THAT + it makes them bigger)
Mystical Tutor (see Enlightened Tutor)
Rorix Bladewing (I think I have Hunted Dragon here, which is 1 red less to play and hits just as hard)
So the good news is, all OTHER cards I do have in my cube, but in these 10 cards above I've made some choices that not everyone has made.
Now about the list itself:
I'm surprised to see Yawgmoth's Bargain, Sylvos and Akroma, Angel of Fury on every list. I mean, I play them too, but everyone likes them as well ?
btw, red Akroma is in every list, but not the white one ? typo, or for real ?
Thats acctualy my bad, Usman had had 5 Moxen listed in his artifact section, so they weren't added. Fixed now
Though, Iceage4life doesn't play black lotus, Time Walk or ancestral recall
Kilo doesn't play recall, Time Walk or Time Timetwister
Wermin doesn't play Time Walk or Timetimetwister.
Metamind doesn't play Timetwister (not good enough?)

Using my super awesome spread sheet, I devised a cube of 360+ cards using only the top picked cube cards. In the event of a tie I just listed the card also. So there would need to be a bit of cutting to get down to exaclty 360 cards. The number represents how many times out of 8 the card was chosen. Also the download should work now, I switched the site I uploaded it to.
Undermine is listed under lands and lots of types as you said ;-). I like "Senseis' Diving Top"
Anyways, this topic should probably be stickied as this is a very good thread for anyone starting a cube. Taking the most common cards among 8 cubes was a very good idea.
Apparantly, I'm the only one playing Creatures
Also, I'm surprised to see someone who doesn't play Mulldrifter. I cannot think of a reason not to play it.
I have an easier way to track my spelling mistakes now though
Hey Pringlesman
I think you have Gathan Raiders under black
(He's red!)
EDIT: Also, this is great. Made me look through my cube and asked "Why don't I have that card in?" Made a few changes based on this!
Me too! I'll update my thread with findings from this thread. Coincidentally, there has been discussion about using knowledge gained from group knowledge to create an improved outcome, in one of my classes and this is definitely seeing it in action.
two questions for everyone
is slith firewalker that solid? 7 out of 8 cubes? blew my mind!
uhm... that's techninally only one question, sir. even if in the form of two questions.
and i have to say that i was rather surprised by this myself. in constructed this guy was amazing because he often came down on turn one in the deck he was played in. but from my own personal experience in cube, his lack of evasion made him hard to get "online." he would usually see around about 2/2 status, but i think i only saw him get bigger than that on maybe a couple of occasions. he was either dealt w/ by removal, or simply blocked by something bigger.
not that he's a bad creature, he just didn't cut it in the cube. not for me anyway.

Agreed...every once in a while Firewalker gets out of hand...but most of the time he's just a little donk that does nothing...
Little donks that don't do a lot by themselves are bread and butter for red-based aggro, though. Especially hasty ones. Firewalker is a little guy that's usually too dangerous to completely ignore, and that makes it awesome.
Separate note -- Pringles, this is an awesome thread. Really interesting read, and the comparison spreadsheet is an awesome idea that wouldn't have occurred to me. A great resource for cube builders, and definitely sticky-worthy.
I've got both Firewalker and Hell's Thunder in my cube (~500 cards). Firewalker seems fine to support the R/x aggro deck, but that's about it. I've only seen him grow to ridiculous proportions once, but the bottom line is there are only so many acceptable/interesting red two drops to choose from. I just added Chrome Mox to the cube, so now the turn 1 Firewalker is inevitable.
Hell's Thunder is a great card, I'm happy to have it in there. I mean, it's two burn spells on one card, I think that's something every red deck could use. Good damage to mana ratio, card advantage for red, what's not to like? Didn't quite get to abuse this guy with Recurring Nightmare in my last draft though...
Slith Firewalker needs no evasion since you're playing red and lotsa BURN! :mad1:
that's not always the case. sometimes you're in red, but don't get all the burn you'd like to have. or what if there's a creature in your way that you can't target w/ your burn?

Another weird thing : Everybody has enemey signets but not the allied ones ? Interesting .. I guess they're usually replaced with Talismans
Oh, and what about the dual lands ? I assume everyone plays real duals and shocklands ?

My

From your list I want to cut Yawgmoth's Will but I don't see anything else being cut in the near future.

Download the spreadsheet, it sorta has all that info in it. But it looks like Metamind banned it due to it being too good.
And looks like I screwed up on usman and Kilo listing duals as 10 dual lands/5 fetchlands, etc. I'll fix that tommorow.
If you see anything else I screwed up, tell me.
