this art doesn't look like a giant flying *****, but that's what i found so hilarious about the original. this "mean" new art is about as menacing as a northern pike

"Where'd the cheese go at?"
If that was the art on the FNM promo, I would get a playset.
despite the art pretty much is that of Gyarados, it doesn't change the fact that I am highly pleased with the new Mulldrifter. I always found the original rather displeasing... though this new one has the right feel. Though the Lorwyn to Shadowmor paradigm that appears to be present in the current brand of FNM promo's seems intriguing to say the least. And yes, this art is most definitely in flavor...

It actually does not look too bad in that bigger picture. I just wish it was more fish like. it looks like the artist was trying to make it look like a viper fish only they forgot the fish lips and gill plates.

a small sentence for you to read while you ignore my post.
I don't think the art is bad but I don't think its any better then normal mulldrifter. Too bad FNM foils keep the reminder text when normal ones don't (unless they changed something since last I checked.)
Unless new pieces of art are downright awesome, the new fnm's or reprint arts are always gonna be perceived as if they sucked.
I mean, It's not like mulldrifter is a blazing classic of magic art, right?
Let's play a little something: for a minute let's pretend that the new art was the original (and we have to forget that mulldrifter was printed in a set full of fluffy kittens and yappy dog art) and the original art is the FNM....can you imagine the comment section? I can:
I'm pretty sure WOtC knows, and I'm also sure they give a squire about it.

I know the perfect guy for the third faction:

I think it's cool. Mulldrifter does show up in some Legacy decks, so the foils are still playable.

WTF. I know my ***** doesn't look like a Mulldrifter. Can anyone back me up on this? Because I don't want to think that I've been mislead by numerous Health teachers.
I'm not a fan of this card art. I would have loved a dark-drifter done well...take the happy fish and make it mad. Not a snake. The wings could have become bat-like, the smile could stay but add fangs and twist it...I'm thinking Mulldrifter as the Joker.

I think the art is awesome. If you have a deck that is like UB-ish and you want to draw cards I think you would rather have a "Super epic drake" then a "Dorky fish". If your deck is UW then you might prefer a dorky fish. I was turned off by the orginal mulldrifter art because it was too much of a dorky fish.
It would be cool if they do a "Cinder" version of some of the better flamekins but I doubt it.
@ Alpha Squirrel - Dont worry lol. Im sure he got mixed up with the prerelease art for Demigod of Revenge
What's with the timing on these things? Almost like giving out Dauntless Dourbark at states or Serrated Arrows. I think if they give good standard cards they'd get a lot more FNM participation, and extended interest. It's a good card, but couldn't they have done this 6 months ago?

Sorry, My ***** looks exactly like that. To the point where I have to wonder if Wayne England is stalking me.

Looking for a card alterer that takes commissions specifically on a blank playmat. PM me please.
