Yes there are other ways to respond too... but I wouldn't call Unsummon, PTE, Condemn or the original a Kill spell...
Bouncing, and RFG, excuse me, Exiling do not a kill make.

I like the deck in the way that almost everything is a creature to maximize the Sapling
A few idea's: if you find enough useful zombies, Unholy Grotto is an extra Volrath's Stronghold.
I also think Worldly Tutor is a must. Tutor, attack and voila! Elvish Harbinger and Boggart Harbinger can do the same if you have enough of the correct creatures Other ways of manipulating the top card of your library: Insidious Dreams, Sylvan Tutor, Treefolk Harbinger and Vampiric Tutor.
Oh...just thought of more ways: Cream of the Crop, Darksteel Pendant, Dimir Machinations, Explorer's Scope (this one is very useful! Look with the Scope first, if it's a land, put it on the battlefield so you can look at the next card with the Sapling), Gilt-Leaf Seer, Mirri's Guile, Scroll Rack and Sensei's Divining Top. Also, cards with Scry and Kinship might be very useful!
