This deck went 6-1-1 at the PTQ at Pastimes in the state of Illinois. I talked to the guy who ran it b4 the tournament (he was friends with some of my friends I came with), and i was skeptical. I was like wow someone playing Warp World as a deck idea? He lost first round, and i kinda stoped paying atention for a few rounds, then round 5 i ask him and hes 4-1, i was shocked. Durring the lunch break I was like asking him about the deck, and after talking with him about it I realized how powerful this deck is. Honsetly its only bad match up is swans. Everything else it has a advantage over. Considering he can cast Warp World easly 2 or 3 times in a turn, and anything but a Warp World sticks, its very insane. I encourage ppl to test this deck.

I could see this deck struggling with B/W tokens or Bant Aggro simply because of how quickly those decks can kill you. Sure, there is tons of mana ramp in this deck, but 8 mana is a lot to ramp to. Also, this deck needs more win conditions. Apart from hard-casting Hellkite Overlord or Broodmate, this deck is only going to kill you if it casts Warp World. Any deck with a negate or a cryptic command is going to hold onto it until you try to cast Warp World. I really like the concept of this deck...but its seems like more of a casual deck than something that could consistently compete with tier 1 decklists. That being said, it has HUGE surprise potential, and I suspect other players unfamiliarity with the deck played a large part in its success at the PTQ.

This deck was pretty good last year with Bogardan Hellkite. Without something like Hellkite I don't know if it can perform to well.

Was that seriously the manabase? 12 Forests and 9 Mountains? I don't see why the deck just didn't go 4x Fire-Lit Thicket/4x Karpulsan Forest/4x Reflecting Pool/etc.

Even if you put in 4 Pains and 4 Filters Anathemancer is pretty weak against 2-colour, that's why people play UW Lark. At the very least I'd put in 4 Fire-lit Thickets because Trace might otherwise be tricky to cast.

I think the point is recurring their Anathemancers with your own Warp Worlds when you run nonbasics is basically suicide.

If people are so concerned about the mana base, running the RG Borderpost won't hurt much, lest you do mind the comes-into-play-tapped clause.

You do mind it, it can be important relatively often; when it's coming into play off of a Warp World, for example.

That's why there's basics for the manabase. EDIT: Also, each time you play a siege-gang with this deck, it ups your warp world count as you have 4 permanents in play for the one you flipped with warp world. Combining this with nucklavee and the keeper accel, you can cast warp world several times.

interesting list. am surprised not to see any farhaven elves or civic wayfinders, though. I guess he's not trying to go infinite.

About warp world, seems pretty vulnerable to mass removal and really fast decks. I'm not too impressed. I agree with the guy above who said that a lot of its power stemmed from its homebrew, unknown origins. Same with Swans, where people just didn't have the right hate to battle it.
Illinois PTQ top 8 Chapin's 5 CC Warp World.dec RDW (I'm surprised as well) Boat Brew U/W Reveillark B/W Tokens Sesimic Swans B/W Kithkin with B/W Kithkin and Sesimic Swans as the winners. warning to all players - in the top 8, the b/w tokens guy inbetween games was looking at a piece of paper that contained his notes on what to SB in and out against certain decks. His opponent, the B/W Kithkin guy called a judge and got the guy DQ'd. So apparently your allowed to refer to notes and talk about people's decks inbetween rounds, but during a round, do NOT bring any notes to the table.
