Belgareth told me to take a few days off, since I've been getting almost no sleep working on RAV rumors and opening new 9th edition boosters to stock my website...
... so here I am at 0415, working on rumors! :smile2: I promise, Bel, I'll take a couple days off AFTER THIS! :D;):p:)
Here are the four guild insignias. I got them from a source I trust, before the Temple Garden scan was found, so I know he didn't just use the Selesnya one and shop the rest or something. These are the real dealies.
Those are awsome!! I can't wait!!! This is getting to be like the wait for Invasion! That was a great set!

Ohhhhhhhhhh the Golgari one is a bat then isn't it? That makes more sense now... Same think with that spider eye looking thing... Thanks for the great find R_E and anon source.
Can someone post a link to the thread to teach me what these Guild symbols mean? (What will they be used for in the game of Magic? Are they just symbols or will they have rules associated to them?)
They represent the guilds appearing on cards in Ravnica. They're groups that share the same beliefs and ideals, and ways of doing what they need to do. The symbols mean nothing for the cards, they will just appear in the text boxes of all gold cards, all cards with guild mechanics, and all cards with off-colour abilities linking them to guilds. See the other threads for more info on all this.

Now that we have clear images, we can easily see the 'heads' on the curved outer segments of the Golgari emblem - but as to whether they are snakes or the new snake-like saprolings, I still can't tell. And the central part looks way more like a beetle than a bat to me.
Incidentally, R_E, I'm assuming it's just a spelling error, but is there any significance to the fact the Golgari emblem is actually titled Golgori?
just a randomly annoying thought about that chart(which by the way is amazing, actaeon):which guild could be the syndicate? Have I just not been following the Rumor Mill as closely as I needed to?

Actually, in the context where we heard of 'the syndicate' it seems more like 2 guilds (or more, but probably the other two GP guilds) working together, against the Gruul guild.
Thats my take at least.
'The syndicate' wouldn't gel with the names we have anyway.

I think the long lines on the sides of the Golgari emblem might be arrows (like a recycling symbol), to represent the cycle-of-life/reanimation idea shared by green and black, and in particular the Golgari (see the Dredge mechanic).
Poison? Maybe?
Come to think of it, it's one of the few mechanics that is historically posessed only by green and black, ala Marsh Viper and Swamp Mosquito.
Yay!
Edit: This would imply, as was postulated before, that the insect/eyeball insignia belongs to the U/B guild.
Edit again: Or, as pointed out, I may be completely wrong about the guild, according to Bryan Tinsman. According to his info, poison should belong to the B/U guild in Rav and the W/B guild in GP. Go go Gorgon logo (rhyme!) for G/B once more.
Given the curious nature of the Bryan Tinsman's statement, I thought it'd help to outline the possibilities:
Scenario A: poison returns. BT has seen Rav and is hinting at it.
U/B - House Dimir - Poison cards, Snake logo
G/B - Golgari - Gorgon Head logo
Scenario B: poison returns. BT, however, isn't in on it.
U/B - House Dimir - Spider/Eye logo
G/B - Golgari - Snake logo, poison cards, fits with gorgons (hair, poison)
Scenario C: poison does not return
U/B - House Dimir - spider/eye logo
G/B - Golgari - snake logo, fits with gorgons (hair)
This, I think, is a pretty important discovery, but everyone's too busy gawking at the shiny new lands to notice.

Boros Legion
House Dimir

They all look great. Boros Legion seems very...greek for some reason.
Thanks 'Tog for the Banner, it's rules.
Let this great clan rest in peace (2001-2011)
Well it has the "-os" suffix, so perhaps it was intentional.
Yeah, it does appear to be a stylized bat, or... "something evil and hungry". The outside things are the green part, probably saprolings.

That was exactly the fact I was trying to point out It does not look like a bat for me...

Yeah, that's what I see too. I don't really see a bat AT ALL.

So, without more ado, my updated diagram
What am I saying, we need the entire spoiler! This is gonna be one hell of a set.

They are Chainer's interpretation of them, but they are (aside from being scaled down on our boards) EXACTLY how they will look.

I'd like to see poison back, but it's moved across the colour wheel.

Scenario B: poison returns. BT, however, isn't in on it.
