My take on the Niv-Mizzet deck.
Sure, the Curiosity combo and its variants are annoying, but frankly, they work, especially in 1v1 where I do most of my EDHing
I like Stroke of Genius more than mind spring or braingeyser. The instant speed is very nice. Dismiss can act as a mini-cryptic command. I am Superman has good synergy with a lot of your creatures (namely Niv, Arcanis, and Azami). Tolaria West is a very solid land to fetch up strip mine or maze of ith. Or you could add Ancestral Visions in and tutor that up with it. Then of course there is always Tolarian Academy, Seat of the Synod and Great Furnace.
A card I like to use for my card draw is Read the Runes strangely enough. It's pretty affordable, and instant speed even. The sacrificing/discarding usually isn't so bad, especially if you put it on the stack when a bunch of stuff are heading to the graveyard anyway.
Another non-traditional card I've had some success with is Juxtapose. It might not look like much, but if you play it right you can steal your opponent's Darksteel Colossus, as well as the Sword of Fire and Ice it's wearing!
kiki-jiki combos with several of the creatures, both whirlpool's, simulacrum, keiga, mulldrifter, trinket mage, and gelectrode to a lesser extent. Maybe find room for scrivener, anarchist, izzet chronarch, nucklavee. they would all make good kiki targets, and they recycle cards which is always good.
kiki-jiki cannot hit keiga, making the whirlpool creatures the only targets that would even be remotely good enough to run a kiki-jiki for. I am just wondering with so few targets if it has actually been worthwhile in this deck.
