Default Let's do the Time Warp again! Tezzeret Time Warp

This thread is about the Tezzeret/Time Warp combo that includes Time Sieves and recurring artifacts via Open the Vaults. It is easily facilitated by any card that allows a player to take additional turns, play additional artifacts and survive long enough to go off and kill your opponent, either with Tezzeret's ultimate or by decking with Jace's ultimate.

A version of this deck recently won the Finnish Nationals and it has already placed in the top 8 in several other National tournaments. Below are some decks from these tournaments:

Deck
7 Island
3 Swamp
3 Plains
3 Mystic Gate
4 Fieldmist Borderpost
4 Mistvein Borderpost
4 Howling Mine
2 Jace Beleren
1 Font of Mythos

4 Pollen Lullaby
4 Time Warp
4 Time Sieve
4 Open the Vaults
2 Tezzeret the Seeker
4 Elsewhere Flask

ORIGINAL POST BELOW: (Out of Date)
Spoiler:

Here's what I'm thinking - a U/W/B deck that stalls sort of like Turbofog did, but uses ultimate denial (deny your opponent their entire turn).

Here's the deck list. Changing the name of the deck to "All the Time in the World..." (I love that Twilight Zone episode!).

NEW UPDATED LIST - The PERSIST TURNS deck!
Deck
4 Time Sieve
4 Open the Vaults
4 Time Warp
4 Cryptic Command

2 Ajani Goldmane
2 Tezzeret, the Seeker

2 Rings of Brighthearth
3 Howling Mine
2 Cauldron of Souls

4 Ornithopter
4 Master of Etherium
4 Etherium Sculptor
4 Mistvein Borderpost
4 fieldmist Borderpost

3 Plains
3 Swamp
3 Island
1 Mistveil Plains
1 Sunken Ruins
1 Mystic Gate
2 Reflecting Pool
Sideboard
4 Dispeller's Capsule
4 Scourglass
4 Ethersworn Canonist
3 Pithing Needle

Use persist to get back your creatures that you sac to the Time Sieve. Use Master of Etherium or Tezz's ultimate to overrun your opponent (use Cryptic's to tap them down as needed). Once this deck gets going, it's always your turn.

You can even go infinite on turns! (With Ajani Goldmane, a Cauldron of Souls, a Time Sieve, Rings of Brighthearth and Mistveil Plains out: Persist 5 creatures, sac to TimeSieve to take an extra turn, use Rings of Brighthearth on the TS activation to take another turn before that one. (Two turns waiting for you.) First extra turn, remove the -1/-1 counters with Ajani. Next turn, add a loyalty counter back to Ajani and give persist, sac and repeat. Once you get to the end of your library, use Mistveil Plains to put a Time Warp back into your deck. Kill your opponent at your leisure.

The good part, it's easy to run and has multiple win conditions. The best part? It's FUN to play! The bad part? It's not fun to play against... make sure you are running it! heheh

OLDER DECKLIST:

4 Ornithopter
4 Time Sieve
4 Open the Vaults

4 Fieldmist Borderpost

1 Mistveil Plains
3 Plains
4 Swamp
6 Island
Sideboard
4 Silence
2 Inkwell Leviathan
2 Platinum Angel
3 Pithing Needle
4 Runed Halo

OLDER Decklist... never mind.

Deck
2 Platinum Angel
4 Ornithopter

4 Time Warp
4 Savor the Moment
4 Cryptic Command
2 Open the Vaults

Modified the original deck to maximize the decks options. Added black and more artifacts.

Not much hate for it in the format. Can go off as early as turn 3. Heh, by that I mean my opponent only gets three turns...

Maybe I missed the combo but how can your deck go off on your turn 4? Tezzeret is 5, you have 0 ramp that I can see, so I can't really tell how it can go off that early.. Also why not play rings of the brighthearth? Its an artifact that essentially gives you double activation of tezzerets abilities + it adds to the artifact count.

Check out my time sieve build I posted a few days ago...

http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showt...17#post4069317

Basically does what your trying but 100 times more efficient xD dont think savor / time warp are good ways to go unless you reallllllly like them....

The build I have been trying usually goes off on turn 5-6 depending on the draws.... at minimum I have won by their turn 8... (If i stall out and have to use sharuum on capsules or esperzoa + elsewhere)

I fiddled with this a bit. time sieve and savor the moment are bad, rings of the brighthearth if awesome. i'd go creatureless so hallowed burial (which you should run) and stuff has more of an effect.

also sleep + timewarp is brutal. i'd add it in with cryptic

i think the whole tainted sigil / ad nausesem is a bad idea.

Neat idea but this seems really slow? How do you stall the opponent to cast your spells?

How do you stop aggro?

Also, Tainted Sigil is just...terrible.

That doesn't explain anything to me. The deck still has high casting costs. Plus...decktags man, decktags.

EDIT: I was asking because it doesn't seem straightforward to me how this deck can be efficient early game.

I just revised it again. Now it just aims to get rolling on the turns ASAP.

Okay, I must not be explaining myself correctly. What I really want is a breakdown of this works because I simply can't put 2 and 2 together here. Call me stupid I guess.

Ever played TurboFog or any other ramp deck? You use Savor the Moments (gone from latest version) and Time Warp and Time Sieve to ramp into multiple turns, allowing you to draw more cards, play more resources, and put counters on Tezz until you can activate Tezz's ultimate and swing with all your artifacts for the win.

Your opponent can't untap or attack you on your turn. You try to make it ALWAYS your turn. Since you are sacing artifacts to the Sieve, you use Open the Vaults to put them back into play, to be sacrificed again and again...

Neat. I do rather like the latest list. It's starting to make sense. So when's the earliest that you find that you can start taking extra turns?
