This thread is about the Tezzeret/Time Warp combo that includes Time Sieves and recurring artifacts via Open the Vaults. It is easily facilitated by any card that allows a player to take additional turns, play additional artifacts and survive long enough to go off and kill your opponent, either with Tezzeret's ultimate or by decking with Jace's ultimate.
A version of this deck recently won the Finnish Nationals and it has already placed in the top 8 in several other National tournaments. Below are some decks from these tournaments: Here is the decklist Oliver Ruel used for a Top 8 (7th) in the French Nationals :
This deck took 4th at Brazillian Nats:
And this deck took 8th at the same event:

Modified the original deck to maximize the decks options. Added black and more artifacts.
Not much hate for it in the format. Can go off as early as turn 3. Heh, by that I mean my opponent only gets three turns... |

Maybe I missed the combo but how can your deck go off on your turn 4? Tezzeret is 5, you have 0 ramp that I can see, so I can't really tell how it can go off that early.. Also why not play rings of the brighthearth? Its an artifact that essentially gives you double activation of tezzerets abilities + it adds to the artifact count.

Check out my time sieve build I posted a few days ago...
http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showt...17#post4069317 Basically does what your trying but 100 times more efficient xD dont think savor / time warp are good ways to go unless you reallllllly like them.... The build I have been trying usually goes off on turn 5-6 depending on the draws.... at minimum I have won by their turn 8... (If i stall out and have to use sharuum on capsules or esperzoa + elsewhere) |

I fiddled with this a bit. time sieve and savor the moment are bad, rings of the brighthearth if awesome. i'd go creatureless so hallowed burial (which you should run) and stuff has more of an effect.
also sleep + timewarp is brutal. i'd add it in with cryptic i think the whole tainted sigil / ad nausesem is a bad idea. |

Neat idea but this seems really slow? How do you stall the opponent to cast your spells?

How do you stop aggro?
Also, Tainted Sigil is just...terrible.

That doesn't explain anything to me. The deck still has high casting costs. Plus...decktags man, decktags.
EDIT: I was asking because it doesn't seem straightforward to me how this deck can be efficient early game.

I just revised it again. Now it just aims to get rolling on the turns ASAP.

Okay, I must not be explaining myself correctly. What I really want is a breakdown of this works because I simply can't put 2 and 2 together here. Call me stupid I guess.

Your opponent can't untap or attack you on your turn. You try to make it ALWAYS your turn. Since you are sacing artifacts to the Sieve, you use Open the Vaults to put them back into play, to be sacrificed again and again... |

Neat. I do rather like the latest list. It's starting to make sense. So when's the earliest that you find that you can start taking extra turns?
