sweet. looks like a nice inclusion for the set and might make some fun spirit combos work better with masumaro and what not. drawing cards is always nice. too bad it has defender. still a nice wall.

I am looking for Date Stamped promos from Khans of Tarkir block so I can finish my set. Check my wants if you have any.
Currently offering 2 non-foil Kolighan's Command for a Date Stamped foil!
Better than Haru-Onna - even though it doesn't pop back to hand (by itself - Maybe some Blood Clock? At least for casual me, heh), it's cheaper and more useful.
Definetely the next Wall of Blossom. Its a very good stall card for combo decks with green mana.

seeing that alot of the cards for rav weev seen so far like this are stronger than comparable cards of the same rarity form old sets that are considerd strong sets, im begging to think wizards wasent lyeing about the whole power of the urzas block will return comment. I am very impressed.

"Why do I fight?... I keep on fighting to find that answer."
A 2/5 for 3 mana that draws you a card when it comes into play:dance2: :dance2: :dance2: . This card could be a mainstay in green based decks. Eternal Witness will be rotating out when this card is legal and this card could be a good replacement for Witness. Using Stampeding Serow this card could produce some very good card advantage and be their to block each turn.

"Are you going to bark all day little doggie, or are you going to bite?"
This is... a good example of between block synergy... seeing as it is a spirit and all.
No, that's an example of marketing. It's a blatant attempt to make Kamigawa seem a little less pointless once Ravnica comes out, by tacking "spirit" unecessarily onto this card. Kamigawa is going to look like yesterday's used toilet paper no matter what they do, at this point. As it should.

Wizards never once has said anything about Ravnica's power level. The comment you're referring to was made subjectively by an anonymous source to me about two months ago.
EDIT: Using the Orb of Insight, "craven" appears 0 times and "carven" appears twice. Using dictionary.com, "carven" means "made to be carved"... as in, out of stone or another material. Go figure.

Exactly what I was thinking. This card is just wonderful and very useful. I would have to say that this is better than Haru-Onna, cost and stats at least, although Haru-Onna can return to hand without having a second source do it. What am I saying, Haru-Onna still requires a second source (spirit or arcane spell). This card is definitely a lot more playable than a 2/1 spirit because it can stay around longer. I just keep gibbering on and on. This needs to end some time so better now than later, making the hole I'm digging a little shallower.
I am not stuck up or anything; and I dont want to ruin the fun of this exciting new card; But I think the name; logically speaking, is probably craven carytid; craven being a synonym for cowardice, a cowardly individual; who does not express the will to fight; which would explain its use here; on this defender.
Thanks for the info, Rancored. GO GO RAVNICA.
And if Im wrong, Im very sorry to have questioned you.
Unfortunately, I do believe you are incorrect here. This can be found by looking at the other word on the card.
A caryatid is a column carved into the figure of a person (generally female), and I believe the purpose is akin to the gargoyles put on cathedrals; to 'protect' the place it is established.
Since caryatids are a type of sculpture, 'carven' makes more sense here than 'craven', don't you agree? Presumably, the actual creature is a spirit that inhabits the column.

Carven Caryatid - 1GG
Creature - Spirit (U)
Defender (This creature can't attack.)
When Carven Caryatid comes into play, draw a card.
2/5
Wall of Blossoms + = +2/+1 + better creature type ?
I think I'm okay with RAV math!

I can definitely see some Blue/Green control happening. This guy + Farseek + Traproot... So cool.
