This is my first attempt an EDH deck. I've read a lot about it and am trying to see if I can get my friends interested in giving it a go.
I tried to run removal that can make the most out of Lim-Dûl the Necromancers ability, and that would wreak the most havoc in a multiplayer game. I also tried to collect creatures that would make the most use of recursion mechanics such as Volrath's Stronghold.
I tried to make this deck once and I found it to be really slow. Paying 7 mana for your general really is a lot, so try to make your general more of a 'win-more' card, not the focus of the entire deck. What im trying to say is that you should run it sort of a like a mono-black control. Run all the good cards in black, plus a little bit of extra removal for the general. What I tried to do was basically Lands, General, Removal, and it didn't work at all.
Good luck with the deck
(If you play a lot of multiplayer The Abyss and Magus of the Abyss work really well in this)
I don't think the general as it stands is a complete necessity to win, but is that win-more card as mentioned. I think the base of creatures is fairly stable, with guy sranging from early to late game, and the removal should help keep the board mostly clear. The main ploy is the recur tricks, with Lim Dul as a really win-more card as previously mentioned.

I'd like to figure out a way to make Lim-Dûl the Necromancer indestructible, but the only thing that comes to mind is Shield of Kaldra.
Any comments or criticisms are welcome.

Plus, If I get Cabal Coffers and Magus of the Coffers up and running, as well as the Altar of Shadows, mana really shouldn't be much of an issue.
