Here's the theoretical card:
Minikin - 0 Artifact Creature - Mannequin 1/1 Imagine it were a M10 common, tacked on to the set as-is. Would it break limited formats? Standard? Extended? It might allow for explosive openings, but that's balanced by its low power.

It being an artifact bothers me at some visceral level. I have no issues with it otherwise.
Could you make it a red cobold? :P Kobold Hero ![]() (Legendary?) Creature - Kobold (Warrior?) CARDNAME is red. 1/1

As an artifact, it scares me. Otherwise it would be fine.

I really like it and would make it an auto-include in an Esper deck. But maybe I'd make it nonartifact for it to have any chance of seeing print.

Well, you're talking about making it nonlegendary, and given what we've seen recently I don't think a free 1/1 would do much in the long run. It would probably have some kind of drawback text, something that can be easily ignored, but I could certainly see it.

Dryad Arbor seems to be okay.

That said, I still don't think a non artifact 1/1 for is busted. Good, yes, but it's something that could easily be printed (probably with a drawback).

I designed this 8 years ago
Course, I was called a lunatic then, and I probably was. Oh well. |

I think the main problem is that you could drop 4 first turn and hit for 4 since turn 2.
Other than that, it could be perfectly printable, if worked around enough. |

Again, this card would've been ridiculous in any Standard context up until now, which is why it's so interesting.

I think that this card would be fine even as an artifact. If a draw back is really called for then give it echo

All it really needs is a clause preventing you from playing multiples in a turn. Say once it hits play you can't cast spells for the rest of the turn. You can still play it and an other creature turn one, but you can't get 4 and a lion to attack for 6 next turn. You also couldn't play it and enchant it on the same turn, as if that would be too strong.

Yes, but what about later game?
Why not "When this card comes into play players can't cast spells this turn, unles any player pays ." |
