I've been curious about EDH for a while, and finally decided to make my own after watching a four player match between some of the local EDH regulars. To ease into it I opted for mono-color for simplicity and because it's my favorite color, I've gone for black. My objectives for the deck are basically as follows:
Primary: Graveyard manipulation - specifically returning creatures to play under my control (opponent's critters and my own)
Secondary: Life drain effects, both global and targeted.
Tertiary: Creature destruction, mass and spot removal to get those creatures into the yard.
Since I'm new to this kind of deck building though, I wanted to know if anyone had any ideas regarding my rig here. Thanks for the help.
EDIT: Removed the lower cmc aggro type creatures and added more fat black creatures, along with additional life draining spells, Demonic Tutor, and some more draw.

Hello, and welcome to EDH!
One of the first things to learn about EDH is that power is worth much more than the mana it costs, as players start at 40 life. You want to run about 37-38 lands, and mana artifacts, such as Darksteel Ingot and Sol Ring, on top of that. Since you have a general that focuses on graveyard recursion, you especially want more big, swingy creatures. The 2cc knights and a lot of stuff for 4cc or less can probably be cut. If you want to keep your general as Chainer, I'd recommend a lot of cards with CiP effects, as you'll be getting them twice. If you just want mono-black good stuff, I'd probably recommend Korlash, Heir to Blackblade, but Chainer's good when he's done right. Happy deckbuilding!
P.S. Also, I wouldn't focus too much on graveyard recursion with Chainer as your general. Although it seems like a "theme," after you recur something with Chainer, you won't recur it again, and Chainer is infinite recursion spells in and of himself.
sanguine bond is pretty useless in it... you have almost no gain life beyond the bond's and the horn beacon of unrest lets you reanimate witout your general it could be usefull
on crucible of worlds
Primarily because it is too easy to combo with thing like Fastbond, along with Strip Mine/Wasteland/Ghost Quarter. It's about as fun as having someone paper cut your uretha.

Thanks for the advice. What are some other big, swingy black creatures that would be better for EDH than the smaller, efficient creatures?
@paul henri: Well, Tendrils, Corrupt, Consume Spirit also gain me life, but if it is a small enough element of the deck the Bond could probably go.

i hate to be the bringer of the bad news but Bringer of the Black Dawn is illegal in mono black because of all the mana symbols in it's text box. and Recurring Nightmare is banned.
Another thing to keep in mind is that the format is geared towards multiplayer, so small one shot effects and spot removal are significantly less powerful. Things like Dark Ritual, Doom Blade, and Assassinate generally don't make much of a difference at a multiplayer table. You want more impressively large or versatile spot removal and more permanent acceleration.
Also, you've got coffers in there. There are quite a few cards that support it well in mono-b:
You may want to run an Elixir of Immortality. Graveyard hate is fairly abundant in EDH, and playgroups who play against a deck like Chainer will start running those cards once they catch on. Being able to rescue your yard and gain life at the same time is very good.
