EDIT: Uh-oh, I'm sensing the return of annoying Goblins in many competitive formats...
A 2/2 for one red mana with Haste... it'll usually just reveal the top card in the opponent's library, and might occasionally help the opponent's mana fixing... at lest this one seems fun to play against (or WITH, but who cares about Goblins?) rather than the usual annoyance Goblins are known for.
Thanks for the card!:grin3: I'm waiting for this to accelerate my White Weenie mana base, it's sort of what I needed.:p
Intriguing! Now that's a RDW staple, and at rare as it should be.
That's one hell of a Jackal Pup. Time will tell if its drawback is too harsh.

What are you people smoking? It's a 2/2 hasty guy for 1 mana. So what if they get a land card into their hand, they will be dead in 3 turns anyway. Now, if the land came into play, then this guy would suck, but right now he seems very good to me.
The power of this card really depends on how good landfall is going to be in constructed.
At first glance, this seems good.
Are we that jaded that a 2/2 for that has HASTE isn't good enough?
An extremely aggressive R/G deck seems like it would like this.
He is a fine cascade grab, and a decent one drop in a format that is losing all its decent one drops.

It's also pretty cool to know what your opponent's next draw is, by the way.
Yeah, while the trigger is nice for just attacking, chances are he's going to be killed and the card you look at won't be a land. If you could shuffle or "top" it might be better... of course turn one I wouldn't mind hitting him so I can be sure I'll hit my next land... but again he just basically says "nope, not a land" if it's not.

In Zendikar format, this Goblin Guide might actually be better if the land came into play, because that way it's less of a drawback because you are forcing your oppo to trigger landfall immediately rather than hold back on those extra lands they're drawing to trigger landfall during their own turn when it is more inopportune for you.
Dang, mono red goblins in type 2 and extended is looking really good.

People assumed Jackal Pup was bad when it was released. Unless there's an exploration type spell in Zen I don't see how an aggressive red deck would care too much about helping the other deck hits it's lands. This guy alone does 8 damage on the play before they can ***.
Very nice. It's a little difficult to determine how relevant the drawback may be (I thought Dark Confidant was nothing special when it was first revealed), but Goblin Guide may be red's best one-drop since Jackal Pup. It attacks on first turn, it has a relevant creature type, it's larger than Raging Goblin, and you even get to peep at every card your opponent draws. Man, if this becomes a must have four-of alongside Warren Instigator, Goblin Chieftain and Siege-gang Commander, Goblin decks are about to get real expensive.

That's the thing though. It's potential CA, Goblin Spy AND triggering an important ability. Outside of Zendikar this would seem to be better than actually in Zendikar but that said:
if you play him early in the game (as you should) your opponent will probably already have a land card in his hand (more then one usually) so how much does he really gain? He gets an extra card sometimes, and unless hes mana screwed how much does it really help him? And if it isnt a land, you get to see what his next card is for free, and deal 2 damage.
I think its a really good card for a goblin aggro deck.
I really like this guy. Sure he has a down fall, but you also get the information he'll provide. This makes Goblins seems even more powerful. However, I'm unhappy that the good stuff is Rares & Mythic so far. Where are my awesome Common and Uncommon Gobbos?

EDIT: Sorry Edghyatt, hit post instead of attach. Too excited.
EDIT 2: Note that it says attacks, not even deals combat damage. It does its job even if you get a blocker in the way.
