MTG Salvation

This was my first EDH deck that I built. It's gone through many changes and has won a good share of games.



The deck works pretty well at pissing people off cause they either cant attack me or I wont let them attack me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Mana denial works well with Augustin. So...

Annex, Exhaustion, Mana Short, Mishra's Helix, Dust Bowl, Wasteland, Strip Mine, Rishadan Port, Vesuva (destroy an ennemy legendary land).

But yeah, i'd prefer choose Numot as General to have more mana denial possibilities (Ajani Vengeant + Land Destruction) and more solutions.

You can also use Reveillark in those colors (Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, Heat Shimmer, Body Double, Karmic Guide, Avalanche Rider, Sower of Temptation (yay, I loooooove your general), Mirror Entity, Greater Gargadon.

You can also play mini-combos (Guile + Dovescape, Hive Mind + Pact of Negation, etc)

And finally, one of the best cards in this format : Aven Mindcensor.

It's just some ideas, do what you want with it.

I like some of the ideas you had but I would like to keep the deck under Arbiter. Some of the first cards you mentioned I do have but just havent found a place to insert them or. Either that or I dont have ways of getting some of them. I would like to do Numot if I had one.

Kira, the Great Glass-Spinner makes for some solid anti-spot removal too.

Oh, and whatever anyone says, Peregrine Drake just isn't Palinchron. Never has been.

And lastly (until I think of more, at least) you not going down the classic Treachery et al. route?

I also like your ideas but as stated before its about availability. Drake will go be the wayside once I'm not lazy enough to pull it out of my binder since I've just gotten it. Treachery is just a pain to get for me. Plus it always causes alot of b*$&#ing in my play group because of how broken it is.

Id love to get a Decree of Silence and run that combo, its just hard to find anyone in my play area that has one for trade or a store around here selling one.

Deck has been updated to its latest play style but I would like help from people to make this deck as broken as possible. I wanna be able to control, counter, and stop anything to lock out the board. I would appreciate any recommendations. If there's any awesome combos please do let me know. I'm a Timmy style player so you'll most likely have to explain the combos out to me.

One card I know I wanna wiggle in here is Kismet since I already have Frozen Aether.

Isochron Sceptre plus Counterspell = No on a Stick.
Isochron Sceptre plus Swords to Plowshare = No on a Stick to any creature I forgot to counterspell
Isochron Sceptre plus Mystical Tutor = Whatever you need

Disruption
Evacuation, Wash Out, Dissipation Field, Brine Elemental, Time Stop, Shimmer, Dissipate and Stoic Rebuttal instead of Convolute and Rethink, Meddling Mage

Stealing
Roil Elemental, Thada Adel, Acquisitor, Denying Wind (early game: remove 7 lands, mid-game: remove wipes, late game: remove win conditions)

Anti-Graveyard Recursion
Tormod's Crypt (or similar) as a staple against recursion decks

Card advantage
Venser's Journal, Future Sight, Mind's Eye, Trinket Mage (for Sol Ring, Senesei's Divining Top, Expedition Map, Mana Vault, Pithing Needle, Tormod's Crypt[/c]), Mind Spring

Replace Clone with Rite of Replication. It's the same at 4 mana, but outrageous at 9

Foil (cheap Force of Will)

Everflowing Chalice if you want to accelerate the mana advantage. Also you could argue that both Xs are effected by your Generals ability

[c]Voltaic Key to disrupt their mana generaters?

For stupid card advantage and lots of life?
Honden of the Seeing Winds is a one sided Howling Mine. Add Honden of Cleaning Fire to gain 4 life a turn and draw three cards with both out.

i know it's a little easier to get rid of. but Windborn Muse would go nicely next to Propaganda and Ghostly Prison

also Venser, the Sojourner works wonders with your CIP cards. and it's quite funny using it on Treachery
