After a backbreaking 25 minutes of trawling old threads and updating the master game list, I have here the list of games eligible for consideration in this year's awards, consisting of all the games that finished after last year's awards began and before tonight.
Harry Potter Mafia, by the way, sets two records in and of itself: first, for being the longest game ever run on the site (both it and Inheritance Mafia managed to beat out the previous record-holder, Romance of the Three Kingdoms Mafia, in the same cycle!) Second, and not entirely unrelated, for being the game that started longest before the awards cycle in which it was eligible - it began in March of 2008 and ended scant days after the 2008 awards began, disqualifying it from consideration that year.
Let's all have a round of applause for this eight-month-long behemoth, and its only-slightly shorter compatriot, Inheritance Mafia, which clocked in at seven months and also managed to not only break but obliterate all standing records for number of posts in a game. Abandon hope, all ye who don't use 40 PPP.
And finally, since the implementation of the new Basic queue in August of 2008, we're speeding through newb-friendly games much more quickly than ever before. Basic games are the first taste many new players get of mafia on this site, and I think it's important to reward hosts who ensure that their first-time players have a positive experience. Therefore, I would like to propose a new category in Mod Awards: Best Basic Host.
As before, assuming the other mods haven't changed their minds since last year, official forum award votes will take place for the categories of Best Player, Best Host, and Best Newcomer.
If anyone spots any erroneous inclusions or omissions in this year's game list, let me know posthaste.

No, I'm not doing this for any self-serving reason. Why would you think that?

I love Joboman, Poggy, Niv, and Vezok, because, while they may not be the best players, they still try to win. Having fun is the most important thing to a game, but I've learned that if you don't try to win, then you're ruining everyone else's fun.
I'm not qualified to make any guesses on the gameplay awards, but I'll make some mod nominations.
Mod Awards
Best Game Design - DYH, Amistarian Mafia - DYH never fails to produce competitive and interesting setups, and this one was no exception. The lopsided result of the game notwithstanding, the setup was quite a thing of beauty; not only did DYH masterfully put his own spin on traditional mafia archetypes, he effortlessly utilized his game mechanic to force constant strategic reassessment and town gamesmanship to achieve victory.
Most Creative - Azrael, Inheritance Mafia - As with most Az games, this one was wicked complicated. Whether that's a virtue or a vice is neither here nor there, and considering some of the behemoths I've produced, I should say I'm wholly unqualified to make a case one way or another. Whether Inheritance was balanced will be a debate for the ages. What is true, however, is that Az took his complex understanding of mafia mechanics and implemented it in a way that was fresh and original.
Best Flavor - Azrael, Inheritance Mafia - Close call on this one. Azrael has consistently earned his reputation as a strong flavor writer. What definitely earns him this award in my mind, however, was that this was his first game on this site completely hand-written. As with everything else Az does, whether or not his story was completely original is completely beside the point; he created a deep, nuanced universe populated with complex characters inhabiting elegant, flavorful scenes. That's pretty much exactly what you hope for from any game. You know you're looking at a good story when you're offered the chance to add pieces to it and you don't want to for fear of corrupting the author's vision. Nice job, chap.
Honorable Mention to Kraj for Tales of the Fantastic. When he asked me for suggestions on overarching story, I had no idea he would take my rather spare suggestion of a journey and run so far with it. Major props to him.
Most Interesting Role - carrion pigeons, Hermione Granger/Time Turner, Harry Potter Mafia. The interaction in question was that, if Hermione got the Time Turner, she could edit an old post to "unlynch" someone. I'm a fan of Time Travel Mafia games, despite the fact that they're ludicrously complicated and not terribly mafia-y, and this is the closest I've come to seeing such a role implemented here. While it probably would have led the game into pandemonium, it's a very cool idea.
Honorable Mention to Azrael for Chris Taylor the Possessed Mafioso in Inheritance Mafia. Man, if he had triggered that AWC...
I am barning loran's idea on how to do this. Continuously updated as I remember things.
My Ballet Thus Far:
Best Town Performance (Individual)
On a certain level I would like to nominate myself for every game where I was scum.
Best Mafia Performance (Individual) - Skander in Youkai
Really even though he won through a series of well interesting circumstances (triple night kill), the only reason he was suspected of being scum (and probably would have been lynched the next day) at all was that it was pretty much down to me, him, HKKID, EP, and Drakoguard. me and HKKID were confirmed masons, EP was lynched, and Drako was too newb to be anything else but town. And yet through all of this I was still shocked he came up scum.
Best SK Performance (Individual)
Have yet to play in a game with a SK worthy of this award.
Best Non-SK Neutral Performance (Individual)
Best Town Performance (Group)
Best Mafia Performance (Group)
Worst Town Performance (Group) - Disgaea Mafia
Notes: So many things happened in that game that prevented the town from even coming close to catching one scum. In fact I don't think if one of the scum admitted to being scum would the town actually lynch them. *not sure if that is sarcasm*
Worst Mafia Performance (Group) - Crackhouse Mafia
Notes: There should never be a scum team made up of me, DV, and EP ever.
Best (False?) Role Claim (Individual)
Funniest (False?) Role Claim (Individual)
Best Town Player
Best Mafia Player

Most Entertaining Player - Seppel
Note: He is just fun to watch him run wild in a game

Best Game Design - Brittania
I really feel that the game had a lot going for it and I would have loved to have scene it play out until the end.
Most Creative
Best Flavor - arimnaes
If only for the death scenes in Disgaea (such as Callaway eating himself to death), well that and I was technically the person who was assassinated that started the whole mafia game.

It might of only been a basic, but it is still one of the best games I've played in

Best Host - DYH
Best Basic host:
You've got the one in the bag, just don't think that it qualifies you for any of the play awards.
Who, me? And I don't have one in the bag....game was so long ago people have forgotten. So I'm campaigning....not really.

Can we get some candiates for Newcomer of the year?
So far I'm aware of two candidates:
kpaca,
ced395
I'd also guess that Seppel and Some One also qualify, as well as DV.

I'm not entirely sure whether me, kpaca or SO qualify.
kpaca and I were in Newb 22 (which ended shortly before last year's awards).
kpaca and SO were in Newb 20 (which also ended shortly before last year's awards).
Clarification on whether the one or two newb games allows us to still be nominated would be good.
Oh, and Zinda qualifies too. His first game was newb 21.
I think it's only best newb/mod/player.
Did any of you receive votes last year? I mean, I'd say that a newb game shouldn't cost you "best newcomer" eligiblity given that no one would consider you a candidate for that award based on newb games.

I'm basing my votes only off of games I played or modded (which are: Harry Potter, Smalltown, Hamlet, Fairytale, Dictionary, Persona, Inheritance, Tales) so take 'em with a grain of salt as far as comparing to other candidates.
Player Awards Best Town Performance (Individual) - Pale Mage (Dictionary)
He pretty much did no wrong in this game, and it was a really tough one to get a handle on.
Best Mafia Performance (Individual) - Dagger (Harry Potter)
Loran and AI made a high-risk-high-reward hail mary that paid off. They got lucky. The rest of the mafia got caught on behavior. Dagger, however, did an awesome job of appearing townie and though the mafia had some serious disadvantages he did a great job of making the best of them and manipulating the town at every turn.
Best SK Performance (Individual) - Abandon Hope (Smalltown)
Despite being under suspicion the entire game, he managed to stay off the town and mafia's hit list until the very end. Solid play even if he didn't pull off the win.
Best Non-SK Neutral Performance (Individual) - goatrevolt (Harry Potter)
A flawless survivor performance. Lived to the end of the most grueling game ever, and won. HM to kpaca in Tales.
Best Town Performance (Group) - Persona Best Mafia Performance (Group) - Persona
OK I was part of the mafia group here and I've tried to avoid nominating myself for anything, but both sides played a strong game in Persona.
Worst Town Performance (Group) - Tales of the Fantastic
ced395 summed this up nicely. I expect Amistarian is sweeping this category anyway, but since I wasn't involved in that one...
Worst Mafia Performance (Group) - Hamlet
Azrael held his own in this game but his two teammates were a complete train wreck. It was painful to watch.
Best (False?) Role Claim (Individual) - Loran & AI (Harry Potter)
An extremely ballsy move that could (should) have easily blown up in their faces, but instead carried them to victory. Epic.
Funniest (False?) Role Claim (Individual) - Loran16 (Fairytale)
The claim was actually real, but it was just hilarious to watch Loran describe his "cop who investigates by throwing a tea party" role.
Best Town Player - DYH Best Mafia Player - Cyan Best Overall Player - Dagger
Most Entertaining Player - Cyan
K, as a player he's not actually entertaining but he's responsible for the most entertaining moment this year: daykilling Loran 50 posts into Tales. I nearly cackled with glee when Cyan random'd into the vig role, and when he did that...it was just priceless.
Best Newcomer - Still a little unsure on this one but I'm thinking ced395.
Mod Awards Best Game Design - Arg, this one is hard. I'm torn.
carrion pigeons & Axelrod (Harry Potter). This setup had some important flaws, but it was creative, deep, flavorful, interesting, and clever.
Azrael (Inheritance). Take what I just said about Harry Potter and put "incredibly" in front of each adjective.
DYH (Amistarian). I didn't actually play this game, but the burnout mechanic was impressively elegant. I'm not familiar with how it played out, but I thought it was a brilliant way to shake things up and add strategic depth without moving too far away from traditional mafia or creating serious gameplay issues.
Most Creative - Azreal (Inheritance)
Every nook and cranny of this setup had something new and interesting. For creativity, there is no comparisson.
Something else that should be said: the flavor of this game was outstanding. The quality of storytelling in both the role PMs and the moderator scenes was superb. I actually enjoyed reading the background story in each PM. Even knowing that flavor probably held little if any relevant game information, I made sure to read every word. Loved it.
Most Interesting Role - I've got a few thoughts here. RafaelK & RobRoy's roles in Inheritance had a common element that I thought was brilliant: they gave extra killing power to the town but it required cooperation from other players. Any plans made with these roles required thinking about how the scum could screw it up. They were wonderful.
I also liked andelijah's role in Dictionary, by DragonDart. I was an SK, EmoPinata (iirc) was mafia but since he was alone and couldn't kill he was basically just a survivor, and andelijah was a player who knew who we both were and needed one of us to win. It was a really smart creation.
Best Host - RafaelK (Persona)
I think Persona displayed the most well-rounded mod performance: the setup was creative and fun, the flavor was outstanding, he was attentive as a mod and made few if any errors. While other games might have outshined his in specific areas, the overall game experience he delivered was stellar.
Honorable Mention to Kraj for Tales of the Fantastic. When he asked me for suggestions on overarching story, I had no idea he would take my rather spare suggestion of a journey and run so far with it. Major props to him.
Yowza. That'd be a wonderful compliment from anyone, but I have mad respect for your flavor skills so coming from you... I'm stunned. I actually felt like I kinda failed.
Who, me? And I don't have one in the bag....game was so long ago people have forgotten. So I'm campaigning....not really.

I did not receive ny newcomer votes last year, as I had played just 2 games. My first non newb game falls under this play period (Hamlet). I did however, try to nominate myself just because I knew I wouldn't win and it amused me. Also I don't think Pale Mage counts, but I could be wrong.

Best Mafia Performance (Individual) - iLord, Kithkin Mafia (overlooked performance here)
Best SK Performance (Individual)- Did we have one?
Best Non-SK Neutral Performance (Individual) - Well, assuming I can't nominate my play in Tales as survivor, I guess I go with DC.

Best Mafia Performance (Group): HP mafia. I had been wanting to pull the masons gambit for years, but never actually did it. Congrats to Loran and AI.
Worst Town Performance (Group): Kingmaker. The town was confused for 95% of the game and just never was able to get close to a scum lynch.

Best Host: Loran
Strictly speaking, it's supposed to be players who played their first game this year. However, since some people start playing at an inconvenient time relative to the awards, I'd say it's fair game to nominate anyone for whom 2009 was their "breakout" year, even if they started in 2008.

Alternatively, you could add a Most Improved Player award, or a Breakout Player award, and keep the Best Newcomer strictly for people who started in 2009 (or, arguably, since the last award period).
Player Awards
Best Town Performance (Individual) - Kraj as Ash in Inheritance Mafia. Fantastic.
Best Mafia Performance (Individual) - The Mad Tapper in Doomsday, far and away.
Best SK Performance (Individual) - Kraj in Dictionary narrowly beats Archmage Eternal in Manga. Looking at what he was up against, Kraj never really had a chance, but he made the best of it and almost won it all. If E_P hadn't decided to follow me blindly, he would have.
Best Non-SK Neutral Performance (Individual) - It's a very close thing, but goatrevolt in Harry Potter beats out dC in VR: Salvation by a hair.
Best Town Performance (Group) - Danger City. Convincing and confident throughout.
Best Mafia Performance (Group) - Harry Potter. loran and AI are technically a "group".
Worst Town Performance (Group) - Amistarian Mafia
Worst Mafia Performance (Group) - Led Zeppelin Mafia
Best (False?) Role Claim (Individual) - desCoures, VR: Salvation.
Funniest (False?) Role Claim (Individual) - D_V's claim to be "a lamb" in Noob 21, Endangered Species Mafia. The best part is that the town believed him!
Best Town Player - Pale Mage. It's another close one between him and DYH, but in the end I have to hand it to PM.
Best Mafia Player - desCoures. I can't think of anyone who is a more convincing mafioso on this site, period.
Best Overall Player - desCoures.
Most Entertaining Player - I'm going to nominate D_V - I don't think Seppel is that entertaining, and I think if he dropped the clowning, he would be recognized as one of the better players on this site, and certainly the one who has most improved since he began. D_V, on the other hand, is hilarious and some of his hijinks have definitely profited his team.
Best Newcomer - ced395
Mod Awards
Best Game Design - StormBlind for Doomsday Mafia - I love two-mafia setups and this one was an absolute blast to read.
Most Creative - Cubus for VR: Salvation. That goes for everyone who contributed, but bringing the submissions together was a work of art.
Best Flavor - Azrael in Inheritance Mafia. The game had its issues, but flavor was never going to be one of them and it was fantastic from start to end.
Most Interesting Role - DYH's role in Inheritance Mafia easily. HM to the Anonymous Cult, who I loved.
Best Host - I'm sticking with DragonDart, whose hosting was excellent in both of the games I played under him.
Yeah, I should not be considered for the Newcomer award. Thanks for the kind words, though.
If we are going to have an award for Best Basic Host, I think Some_One should be considered for handling of Gambino Crime Family (Basic #1, iirc). Multiple problems cropped up during that game that were beyond his control and he rose to the occasion to handle them as best as anyone could, and it was his first time modding.
How much time do we have to complete our lists?
Player Awards
Best Town Performance (Individual) - I need to read a couple of games I wasn't involved in, but Azrael in VR: Salvation stands out in my mind. Kraj in Inheritance was super, too.
Best Mafia Performance (Individual) - The Mad Tapper in Doomsday. Great job and he had to worry about a second mafia group as well as the town. I think an honorable mention has to go to Cyan in Brittanica/Legions although that game was abandoned.
Best SK Performance (Individual) - Kraj in Dictionary, by far.
Best Non-SK Neutral Performance (Individual) - DesCoures gets the nod here for VR Salvation. GoatRevolt must be mentioned for putting in two solid survivor performances.
Best Town Performance (Group) - VR: Salvation town. We had some help in the form of the anonymous cult, but overall we worked well together. The Danger City town deserves mention.
Best Mafia Performance (Group) - Let's get Az and Seppel on the ballot for Kingmaker.
Worst Town Performance (Group) - Amistarian, obviously. Never have so many sucked so hard for so little. (I can phrase it that way since I was part of that train wreck).
Worst Mafia Performance (Group) - Led Zeppelin.
Best (False?) Role Claim (Individual) - I think the HP mason claim takes this one, but I think SSB's false claim from VR: Salvation wasn't bad.
Funniest (False?) Role Claim (Individual)
Best Town Player - Arim. He was basically half in the game in VR, but his instincts were good and he handled the day he was certain to be mislynched perfectly (stayed out of the way, accepted his fate, and yet encouraged discussion). Was pretty sharp in Inheritance, as well. Cyan is my honorable mention because he always gets things done as town, and despite the perception some folks have of him as being a bulldog he always has his eyes on most of the board and changes his mind quickly. This one is so tough to choose because there are so many solid townie players (Ced, Zin, Azrael, DYH, Skander, Axelrod, CropCircles, Kraj, RobRoy and desCoures to name a few).
Best Mafia Player - DYH is tough to spot.
Best Overall Player - desCoures. Solid as town, solid as scum, solid as neutral.
Most Entertaining Player - Niv. He and CropCircles always make me laugh at some point, but this exchange from Doomsday still cracks me up
Best Newcomer - Zindabad gets the nod from me for solid town and scum performances. Ced is close second in my mind and should definitely be considered. Skander and Seppel.
Mod Awards
Best Game Design - DYH for Amistarian. Need to glance over a couple of others but I doubt I'll change my mind.
Most Creative - Cubus for VR Salvation. The concept isn't new but I loved what he did with the submissions. After glancing at games I wasn't involved in, BlueSoul's Battle Royale deserves a mention for the "block" structure.
Best Flavor - Azrael for Inheritance. RafK and Kraj both deserve mention here for Persona and Tales respectively.
Most Interesting Role - The time-altering SK in Annorax's Star Trek. Huge potential effects on the game and not a role just anyone could implement due to the administrative needs.
Best Host - RafK. Barning Kraj here as hard as I can.
I feel the same way. I've started playing in one game at a time and getting the rest of my fix by reviewing stuff; I almost never read games I'm not in anymore.
Worst Town Performance (Group): Amistarian
Best (False?) Role Claim (Individual): loran16 (Harry Potter)
Most Entertaining Player: CropCircles
Best Newcomer: Ash LV-426 For reals, if he's eligible I'd go with ced295.
Best Game Design: DYH (Amistarian)
Most Creative: Cubus (VR Salvation, as per PM's comments)
Best Flavor: Azrael (Inheritance)
Most Interesting Role: DYH (Burnout mechanic in Amistarian - I think this qualifies)

Best Town Performance (Individual)
Best Mafia Performance (Individual) I was fairly impressed by Seppel's performance in his first-ever game as scum in Kingmaker.
Best SK Performance (Individual)
Best Non-SK Neutral Performance (Individual) Ged in Inheritance. He came THIS close to pulling it out.
Best Town Performance (Group) - Hamlet's town did pretty well.
Best Mafia Performance (Group)- Hamlet's mafia didn't.
Worst Town Performance (Group) - Kingmaker? Seemed like the town's analysis was fairly superficial, and the kings tended to shoot off their votes on a whim. Partially the nature of the mechanic, though.

Funniest (False?) Role Claim (Individual)
Best Town Player- Seppel
Best Mafia Player- Seppel
Best Overall Player- Seppel
Most Entertaining Player- Seppel
Best Newcomer - We've had a lot of good new players come in lately, there's a lot of names worth mentioning. Nom's starting to catch my notice, Seppel, Skander and Zindabad and DesCoures have been around but really came into their own over the past year. Probably others I'm forgetting.
Mod Awards
Best Game Design - I've heard a lot of good things about Amistarian.
Most Creative - VR salvation was one of the most creative setups I've seen, anywhere, anytime.
Best Flavor - I enjoyed the flavor in Tales.
Most Interesting Role - Descoures' role in VR springs to mind; also the time-altering roles from Star Trek and Harry Potter.
Best Host- I felt both Hamlet and Tales were very smoothly run by Kraj. If I'd been in Amistarian, he could be up there too.

Best Overall Player - Azrael. I've never been able to read him successfully, as scum or town, and I think that is a sentiment that is shared by better players than me.

Best Newcomer - Ced395. Definitely Ced.

Best Host -
Best Newcomer - We've had a lot of good new players come in lately, there's a lot of names worth mentioning. Nom's starting to catch my notice, Seppel, Skander and Zindabad and DesCoures have been around but really came into their own over the past year. Probably others I'm forgetting.
But...but...but I've been here since 2006.
Player Awards
Best (False?) Role Claim (Individual)----Niv's day 1 in Kingmaker. I still say it was the right thing to do.
Best Town Player - Seppel. He's practically psychic.
Most Entertaining Player - Cyan. Seriously, he might be a bit agressive, but I think games would be boring if he wasn't there to make people die.
Best Newcomer - Ced
Mod Awards
Best Game Design - Inheritance.
Most Creative - VR Salvation. Very much interesting
Best Flavor - Tales. Not the story was a nice touch, though it was a bit sporadic.
Most Interesting Role--The Anonymous.
I don't know if nom is town or scum. But I'd like to point out this type of behavior is his standard modus operandi.
Court Mafia: Day 1, hatch plan to KILL EVERYONE ELSE IN A SINGLE NIGHT, when the plan only allows him to hit 11 random players, ATTEMPTS TO FIRE ANYHOW (Roleblocked).
In other words....Nom is an impulsive player who doesn't think about planning long-term or listening to others. I wouldn't be surprised if he was town. At all.
pease note i didn;t pay attention to much during my absence

Ambush Krotiq makes me laugh so much. I keep rereading the card and it keeps not having Flash. In what sense is this an ambush again? I just have visions of this huge Krotiq poorly concealed in some bushes, feeling slightly sad that his carefully planned ambushes never seem to work.
Man, I just didn't play enough games this year to feel remotely qualified to vote on these things.
I feel the same way. Skimming through the list, most nominations are for games I'm completely unfamiliar with. I would nominate both Ced and Zindabad for best newcomer, but it appears to have been done already.
Bit rushed right now, but I'll throw my hat in... will edit in comments and reasons another day.

Naya Overenthusiast; Because there is such a thing as too much enthusiasm.

Does someone want to explain the Krobelus thing? I missed reading that game and I can't stand being on the outside of an inside joke.
It was in DOTA Mafia, someone (Highroller?) false-claimed Krobelus, which is a hero's name, however everyone's actual roles were just hero types, without names, so he was completely busted.
Of course, he was pretty busted anyway by then, the terrible claim just made it official.
The funniest part was that because it was so bad, we were left wondering afterwards if he'd done it on purpose.
Personally, I think it should be the Erestor award by seniority (or the Azrael award, as Az' false claim in MTGS Mafia Redux was the most hilarious fake claim ever AND it worked).

After a backbreaking 25 minutes of trawling old threads and updating the master game list, I have here the list of games eligible for consideration in this year's awards, consisting of all the games that finished after last year's awards began and before tonight.

Newb #21 Endangered Species Mafia (DragonDart)
Doomsday Mafia (StormBlind)
Berserk Mafia (mystery meat of doom)
Harry Potter Mafia (carrion pigeons and Axelrod)
EDIT: regarding the game list, Cubus' normal hasn't ended, has it?
Don't forget GUYS that HARRY POTTER counts.
No, I'm not doing this for any self-serving reason. Why would you think that?

You've got the one in the bag, just don't think that it qualifies you for any of the play awards.
Best Host - Still pondering.
Experiments Series: #5 (Courtly Intrigue Mafia) | #4 (Drunken Tracker) | #3 (Big Red Button) - coming soon | #2 (Pope Mafia) | #1 (Iso's Inflammable Mafia)
Mini Games: MTGS Mafia Redux II (Invitational, Evil Mirror Universe) | Unreal City
Old Games (bad): The Greenwood Affair | Blood Moon Mafia
Huh, that's odd. I don't remember putting that one on the list in the first place. My mind must be going.
Anyway, I removed it from the list.
Notes: There should never be a scum team made up of me, DV, and EP ever.

ced395
I'd also guess that Seppel and Some One also qualify, as well as DV.

Did any of you receive votes last year? I mean, I'd say that a newb game shouldn't cost you "best newcomer" eligiblity given that no one would consider you a candidate for that award based on newb games.

Player Awards
Best Town Performance (Individual) - Pale Mage (Dictionary)
Best Town Performance (Group) - Persona
Best Mafia Performance (Group) - Persona
Best Town Player - DYH
Best Mafia Player - Cyan
Best Overall Player - Dagger
Most Entertaining Player - Cyan
K, as a player he's not actually entertaining but he's responsible for the most entertaining moment this year: daykilling Loran 50 posts into Tales. I nearly cackled with glee when Cyan random'd into the vig role, and when he did that...it was just priceless.
Best Newcomer - Still a little unsure on this one but I'm thinking ced395.
Mod Awards
Best Game Design - Arg, this one is hard. I'm torn.
carrion pigeons & Axelrod (Harry Potter).
Best Flavor - Azrael (Inheritance)
Yowza. That'd be a wonderful compliment from anyone, but I have mad respect for your flavor skills so coming from you... I'm stunned. I actually felt like I kinda failed.

Need time to think about the rest
Strictly speaking, it's supposed to be players who played their first game this year. However, since some people start playing at an inconvenient time relative to the awards, I'd say it's fair game to nominate anyone for whom 2009 was their "breakout" year, even if they started in 2008.
Yeah sorry, I was thinking of Tales fixed to represent that AE was vig.
Alternatively, you could add a Most Improved Player award, or a Breakout Player award, and keep the Best Newcomer strictly for people who started in 2009 (or, arguably, since the last award period).
Experiments Series: #5 (Courtly Intrigue Mafia) | #4 (Drunken Tracker) | #3 (Big Red Button) - coming soon | #2 (Pope Mafia) | #1 (Iso's Inflammable Mafia)
Mini Games: MTGS Mafia Redux II (Invitational, Evil Mirror Universe) | Unreal City
Old Games (bad): The Greenwood Affair | Blood Moon Mafia
More to come

Then looking at the list of games eligible this year....
Britannia Rebellion - abandoned
Inheritance - replaced out
Danger City
Amistarian - died night 1
Battle Royale - died night 1
Doomsday
Harry Potter
I'm like qualified to comment on only 3...
We'll make you an offer you can't refuse.
Hosting: Vista Mafia
Hosted: Intrigue Mafia (Mini), Seance #43 (Basic), Conflux Mafia (Normal), Goo Mafia (FTQ), Experiment #26 (Basic)

Town/Mafia/SK/Survivor - 30/6/4/1
NKed/Lynched/Survived - 15/11/15

Best Newcomer - We've had a lot of good new players come in lately, there's a lot of names worth mentioning. Nom's starting to catch my notice, Seppel, Skander and Zindabad and DesCoures have been around but really came into their own over the past year. Probably others I'm forgetting.

I would've gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for you meddling kids!

Many thanks to Sgt. Chubbz of Damnation studios.
I feel the same way. Skimming through the list, most nominations are for games I'm completely unfamiliar with. I would nominate both Ced and Zindabad for best newcomer, but it appears to have been done already.
I second this motion.
Games played: Berserk, Battle Royale, Doomsday, Hamlet, VR Salvation, Amistarian, Persona, Tales of the Fantastic, Britannia Legion, the-monster-formerly-known-as-Inheritance

Completely unreadable. EVERYONE was convinced he was town on D1 to the point that he didn't even come up as a possible scum for the rest of the game.
Best SK Performance (Individual)
Cyan, Camp Tachronic
He controlled the town and the scum to the point where he played a numbers game and got unlucky.
Best Non-SK Neutral Performance (Individual)
MTG_Junkie, The Lemon Song
After screaming about nothing but the possibility of a cult in the game, he was killed Night 1, and later revealed as the cult leader.
Hilarious. And there is no other candidate in my repertoire of games.

Worst Mafia Performance (Group)

There can be no other winner for this category.
Best (False?) Role Claim (Individual)

Best Flavor

Most Interesting Role

Annorax, History-Altering SK

Best Host
Inheritance Mafia, Azrael
Game-altering mistakes aside, Azrael is a trooper for sticking through to the end.
Battle Royale was created by Bluesoul. Fadeblue is the retired Mafia Mod.
Rofl, you know, has anyone seen them post in the same game?
Logical Reasoning is dead; Long Live Stupidity
It was in DOTA Mafia, someone (Highroller?) false-claimed Krobelus, which is a hero's name, however everyone's actual roles were just hero types, without names, so he was completely busted.
Of course, he was pretty busted anyway by then, the terrible claim just made it official.
The funniest part was that because it was so bad, we were left wondering afterwards if he'd done it on purpose.
Personally, I think it should be the Erestor award by seniority (or the Azrael award, as Az' false claim in MTGS Mafia Redux was the most hilarious fake claim ever AND it worked).
