I'd like to share with you something that happened to me this morning.
I was sleeping like usual, and some noise disturbed me.
"What in the world did wake me up ?"
After some investigation, it appears that some birdies were playing poker near my window, and as i was coming closer, i could see them playing with magic cards !!
here is what i could see before they flew away :
1U some arcane thing
instant - U
counter target spell unless its controller pays 1
"multikick" U : counter target spell unless it's controller pays 2
so basically, it's a kicker cost that you may pay as many times as you want, to have as many times the effect as you want...
to sum it up :
- it can target several spell as long as they are onto the stack
- you choose how many times you want to pay the multikick, pay then you give the priority back to your opponent. There is no way you can wait to see if (s)he pays, then choose to pay the kicker again. It's one big spell.
- it's CMC will always be 2
My source told me that there was a cycle of those, the green one beeing

Sorcery - U
Target creature gets +3/+3
"multikick" 1G : target creature gets +3/+3
And good news, the white one is not about gaining life ! (But i coudn't manage to grab a hint about it :/)

(i'm a little bit pissed off that the counter isn't "unless its controller pays 2" so that it could have been more playable as a 2CC counter :/)
that counterspell is sick as hell! It acts as a broken ambitions for 1 early and can be even better than ambitions as the game progresses. It's even excellent against cascade!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!! I'm going to faint
Actually its potentially WAY better than broken ambitions (As long as you have lots of blue mana) because for each U you pump into it they have to pay 2!
Blue is currently running up some stairs with 'eye of the tiger' blasting!
Anyone else think that counterspell was designed hosing Cascade in mind?
Good **** Wizards. A great counter that is universially good instead of situational like Mindbreak Trap or very cost prohibitive like Double Negative.
Also, the difference between this and replicate is that the ability to multikick a spell uses a different cost. With the counter, it costs 2 mana to cast, and then 1 mana per kick.
A replicate spell always has its replicate cost the same as the converted mana cost. i.e., Train of Thought
I'm pretty sure I just came a little bit upon seeing that counterspell.. Lol.. Finally a seriously good counter at 2cc. Now if we could get some instant draw...

edit: Just realized that your "U" after instant meant it was uncommon, I thought you were saying it cost 1 blue mana

I dont get it. so if I pay 3GGG, I can pump 3 diffrent creature creatures? this is diffrent then Replicate?
I think something is missing from the Green card. Kicker is supposed to give you an alternate ability/spell like with the Blue card. The Blue card counters unless you pay 1 but with the Kicked cost you need to pay 2.

Not really. If blue actually becomes viable then Spreading Seas will be relegated to sb if played at all.
In regards to the counter, love it. LOL at someone mentioning that we need some Broken Ambitions-esque counter reprinted for T2.

Replicate creates copies of a spell so an opponent would need to counter 3 spells. This is still 1 spell.

Wow, big diffrent...
Its just isn't the reason to make new mechanic.
I call it fake, or this spell can only target the some creature (and its steel be strictly batter then Might of Oaks)

Also, this spell is okay, but not fantastic. And when Jund rotates, it becomes pretty bland.
Well, debateable... but the blue one is strictly better than Broken Ambitions.
