* We'll be making a change to Intro Packs based on your feedback that will begin with Worldwake on Magic Online and the 2011 core set in paper. The intro decks will now be 60 cards rather than 41, the Intro Packs will still include a booster and a foil rare, and the MSRP of Intro Packs will go up less than a dollar, to $12.99. Enjoy!
* Duel Decks: Phyrexia vs. The Coalition brings one of Magic's most famous conflicts to life this spring, and there's another classic "planeswalker vs. planeswalker" Duel Decks coming up this fall.
* We'll be rolling out some new products, such as the Deck Builder's Toolkit and a paper product based on Duels of the Planeswalkers.
* This year will feature a summer full of great multiplayer events and activities, headlined by a new format/product that rivals Planechase in sheer awesomeness.
* The popular From the Vault series continues this summer, with an additional dose of shiny available in the form of the Shards of Alara Block All-Foil Booster on shelves this Friday.
* The Legacy format will debut on Magic Online (albeit a few cards short, for the time being, of the paper format).
* And we'll be making sets, too! Worldwake, Rise of the Eldrazi, the 2011 core set, Masters Edition IV (for Magic Online), and the large fall set codenamed "Lights" will build on all that is right with Magic
* One of the rules changes we made for Magic 2010 will be tweaked ever-so-slightly for the next core set.
* Some good blue cards will be printed!

Intro Pack are now 60 cards plus the booster. Awesome it might actually be worth it to pick one up on occasion.
Dissapointed that they would make a new multiplayer format. Hopefully new Planechase product will be released and not just planes at Prereleases and through WPN.
Paper product based on DotP?
The rules tweak will hopefully be combat.

I don't have any hard numbers on this, but I'm targeted more often than a black guy driving a beat-up sedan with a broken tail-light and no license plate, and Cy's well aware of that.
New multiplayer product should be interesting. This is almost certainly the "experimental" set Nagle mentioned working on earlier this year.
A little concerned that they haven't mentioned anything about more Planechase. I love the format and I want to continue getting supported.
I'm curious what a "paper product based on DotP" could be, although I guess the obvious thing would be selling copies of the character decks from the game.
Intro packs going back up to 60 cards is by far the best news from this batch though.

Hoping that this is EDH. I'm not sure how this really makes a new "product," but it surely fits with new multiplayer events and activities.
Hopefully, what they're talking about are counterspells.
And no, there aren't enough good blue cards. Blue is not nearly as viable right now because we have three utilities taking the place of a counterspell (flashfreeze, essence scatter, and negate). Sure, we have spreading seas, and the aforementioned counterspells, but blue is lacking serious thorns. Blue white is decent, though, but not nearly good enough to consistently take down any of the Top 8. It's really up to luck a lot of the time even with the card draw.

I hope they don't do that, the decks were pretty bad.
MaRo just said the other day that the combat damage rule change is 'here to stay', so no dice. (Also he said 'tweaked ever so slightly', that in no way equates to 'reversing the rule')
Other rules changes that can be 'tweaked ever so slightly':
-Beginning of the end step (they already tweaked this ever so slightly, but eh)
-Token Ownership
-Deathtouch and/or Lifelink (they can get different reminder text or work slightly differently)
-Mana pools emptying
They can 'tweak' combat, but it wouldn't really involve stacking damage or anything.

Thank God! I have every Precon from Exodus through Eventide and then stopped after that. They used to make such great casual decks to play with against my wife. Good move WotC.

Sorry didn't mean damage on the stack. I assume maybe something to do with deathtouch because it still feels a bit unintuitive when it comes to trample or the fact that it makes creatures with it work differently.

OMG! Intro packs are going to rock now. 60 cards (the size of an old 12 USD theme deck), with a foil rare (could make it 61? But probably just part of the 60) and a booster pack (around 4 USD). That's at least 16 bucks worth of content, all for 13. That, my friends, is a deal. I'll be getting these as often as I can no doubt.

I think this will be the change Maro is referring to. With the introduction of the "at the beginning of the end step" clause, the next in the "... of the next end step" clause is unnecessary.

We got the Priceless Treasures (in Zendikar), now they give us the Deadly Perils!

To compare to the old PCDs, those had 3 rares in the decks.
These won't. They will have 2 and a booster pack.
Still completely fine though.

-Deathtouch and/or Lifelink (they can get different reminder text or work slightly differently)
My money is on them changing the wacky "deathtouch lets you split damage however you want" effect. Probably by removing the current rule and replacing it with one that says that even 1 damage from a creature with deathtouch is considered lethal damage.
The Intro packs change is definitely the biggest one. The old way they did decks was usually pretty good, but these Intros have been miserable, but a full-sized deck + a pack for $12.99 is a good deal and I think will be far more marketable.
