Thada Adel is a new malware program that has just recently surfaced in the past several days. It installs registry keys that allow it to persistently come back, albeit at the cost of continuously increasing RAM. Onlyafewselectprograms can destroy the registry keys and dispose of the malware for an extended period of time.
Thada Adel is able to relentlessly exploit the most commonly-used OS with ease, slicing through their defenses like a hot knife through butter. This is mainly due in part to the various security holes riddled in the OS that make even some of the best antimalware defenses moot.
After establishing contact with the victim's machine, Thada Adel installs a backdoor into the hard drive, which causes sensitive information to be permanently lost. This data can also fall into the hands and use of a 3rd party for his own benefit.
Yeah, I took a big chunk of the same cards out of my Sakashima deck, but who cares? I like saving money. Plus I might make this more of a possibility :).
Instead of using up deck slots on one-shot effects like Sea's Claim, Aquitect's Will, and Spreading Seas, might I suggest a repeatable effect?
Of the few creatures that can do this, Reef Shaman seems the most on theme.
I don't see exactly how cards such as Spreading Seas are "one-shot effects" since they constantly make the land an Island. Spreading Seas and Aquitect's Will also replace themselves, and the cards are far from fragile like Reef Shaman is. Even though this is built to be more of a "fun" deck since I really wanted to build a Memnarch deck but obviously couldn't, I'm not exactly pursuing a Merfolk-based subtheme.
Also, maybe it's just me but Treachery should be in every deck that can tap his land for blue... just saying...
Possibly. I think I could be able to leverage enough use out of Thada Adel on someone to get an artifact to deal with problematic cards (i.e. rip out someone's O-stone).
I don't see exactly how cards such as Spreading Seas are "one-shot effects"...
I meant in the sense that the card, once used, will only ever affect that specific player. A creature with the activated ability targets whoever you need to hit, whenever you need to hit them.
In any case, my point is mostly negated by the existance of Quicksilver Fountain. It trumps both.
Emmara is like the worst parts of Legends and Homelands got pregnant, aborted the fetus, tossed it in the trashcan, set it on fire and wrapped the corpse in a Dragon's Maze pack wrapper.
As long as you're adding Quicksilver Fountain, you might as well add Oboro, Palace in the Clouds and Ghost Town. With one of them in play, you can stop the Fountain's "remove all flood counters" ability. Just return it to your hand at the end of your opponent's turn (after the end step trigger fails to trigger), then play it again during your main phase. There will never be an end of turn with all islands, so the flood counters are permanent, and your opponents can't produce other colors.
Knowledge Exploitation actually looks like it would be really good with your general. You are almost always going to get to play it for its prowl cost, and because you are already looking at their library you can REALLY plan out a play with it.

EDH Decks:

Please remember to autocard, just do [ card ] CARD NAME [ / card ] and for decks you can cover the whole thing in one deck tag like this: [ deck ] All of the cards in the deck [ / deck ]
I am quickly discovering that what once used to be a "joke" deck when I first conceived of it is actually starting to become quite powerful, especially when I add other borked artifact staples for a MUC/Comboish theme.
I'm very tempted to just keep jacking up the power level of this deck, because I can easily see her sheer power when you have the best color in EDH behind you. I just need to be getting some testing done in a multiplayer setting. Hopefully I can make this a solid deck without getting the combo stigma that I can see coming about.
I am quickly discovering that what once used to be a "joke" deck when I first conceived of it is actually starting to become quite powerful...
Thada comes down really early, has evasion, is in blue, and can abuse some of the highest-powered cards in the format. Most of these cards are staples in 90% of EDH decks. You knew in the back of your mind somewhere that this would happen, Surge.
I've been considering picking up Thada, and swapping her out in my Arcum deck for when I feel like playing that deck during Mulitiplayer. Jack up the deck's power level; you know it's the inevitable conclusion.
ThadaAdel.exe (Surging Chaos becomes Magnus Magicus!)
LOL! Thank you, I see this as a big compliment I also love the flavor you build in your OP and in the names of the subsections in your deck. Having a Bachelor in Computer Science, I liked the flavor very much
About the deck, I find myself always drawn VERY hard to Gauntlet of Power and Extraplanar Lens for monocolored decks. They accelerate your deck incredibly. Ok, the Gauntlet works for everybody, but unless you play against other mono-U decks, you will have the biggest benefit. Besides, you might be a lesser threat for other blue players if you "help" hem. The Lens is best with Snow-Covered Islands, but who cares
The Gauntlet will give your opponents a mana boost if they change their basic lands into Islands, but the Lens will only give cards NAMED Island a bonus.
vanishing should go in every general-themed blue EDH deck. With two mana open your general more or less becomes invincible. cloud key seems like a natural fit. Who doesn't like free sol rings? rishadan pawnshop is my own secret tech: you can shuffle something you stole in response to removal, and grab it again, or you can steal somebody's general and then shuffle it in their library in response to a kill spell. cosi's trickster can get seriously big (especially if you're playing in a meta like mine where ~10 fetches and top are staples). Don't worry about its lack of evasion; most people run some form of evasion equipment anyway.
Also along those lines, psychogenic Probe can bring some extra pain along.
Some cards I run out of personal preference: hunted phantasm - 3 mana threat. Most hunted tokens attack someone else anyway (in multiplayer), and having an unblockable equipment platform for three can be pretty good considering you can simply search up some of the best equipment in EDH with your general. Chronozoa - A relatively early threat that can singlehandedly draw a wrath effect, especially if you get some shroudy equipment.
Six mana counterspells that are usually good: time stop - counters ANY effect, not to mention it is pretty flexible. decree of silence - cycling or playing it are both good in different situations; strong because its flexible. overwhelming intellect - Counter progenitus. 'Nuff said. spelljack - not nearly as powerful as the above listed (for six mana), but still pretty good.
I've decided to put Thada Adel as a singleton in my Sakashima deck and put this deck on the back burner. I already have a powerful primary general in Sisay, and I'm looking towards making a more multiplayer-oriented general that doesn't draw hate like I know a souped up Thada Adel deck would with a "broken" blue artifact shell.
There's a Sharuum deck that's is killing me. I have ">"]Inkwell Leviathan" target="blank">">"]Inkwell Leviathan and he's ">"]cquire" target="blank">A">"]cquired it 3 out of 4 games so far. I'm probably going to take it out and add in some deflection effects.
There's a few obvious things that need changing and adding. I can already see just typing this out that I need to add Coalition Relic & Darksteel Ingot instead of 1 or 2 of the other artifact mana sources. I'm getting a Memnarch and I should think about a Meekstone & Vanishing. Lots of instants & Sorceries missing too. Hum....
Any help is very, very welcome. I've had 6 games with this so far and have only won in 2HG paired with Grand Arbiter countering all the dangerous spells.
As the Last of the Control Players, we are all part of a sacred brotherhood; a band of brothers who would rather die on their knees tapping islands and giving permission than live on our feet cascading into Blightning.

Inkwell Leviathan and Acquire.
Have you tried Commandeer? Nothing funnier than stealing your opponent's spell that's trying to steal your stuff so your can steal theirs.
