This is my new pet deck that Im starting to slowly piece together. Its a deck with a personal challenge to stay away from my tried and true deck building methods and to try and have a more enjoyable deck to play in the multiplayer setting that doesn't do what my current two decks do; control the game, then combo win in one turn. Its my first true attempt to do anything besides combo in EDH so my playgroup wont let out a collective sigh each time I join the game.
The Rules:
1. Keep it simple, keep it fun. I want this deck to be pretty strait forward aggro deck with lots of dudes. I dont want to be strait control or strait combo. Dont get me wrong, a few counterspells will make this deck and maybe some cards with strong interactions, but I will get into that later.
2. Stable Mana. This deck will be 45 mana sources. 35 lands, 10 others. Almost pure islands with some non-basics that improve the deck.
3. MOAR DUDES! I have a horrible tendancy to really shave back on the creatures cuz in my local meta, wrath effects are in pretty much every deck. I have 55 slots to work with, I want at least 24 creatures besides Kira.
5. Still needs to be me ... This deck still needs to show my agressive and devious play-style. The "fair" way of doing this without dropping an instant "I Win" 2 card combo is to steal thier dudes and or goodies. A lil klepto/5 finger discount always seems fun.
6. Limit my counterspells. Five hard counterspells. No more. Soft counters like Venser, Remand and Memory Lapse might be considered.
7. No "I Win" Combos. Dont care how many cards they take, but any combination of cards that wins outright will not be allowed in the deck. This also includes combos that lets you go infinite. Strong Synergies? Im all down for those ...
8. <3 me some multitaskers. Weather it be a card that fits more than one rule of the deck (Gilded Drake anybody?) or simply dudes that can do something as they EtB or trigger abilities when they swing, I always love a good multitasker.
Brine Elemental Combos with the Vesuvan Shapeshifter for a combo that wins the game.
Counterspell dudes puts me over the 5 limit I have, as does Time Stop and THE BRAIN, aka Overwhelming Intellect (must be said as loud and dramatically as possible).
Teferi kinda ruins the fun of the game, breaking rule 1 for my playgroup but I might put him in anyways cuz giving my dudes flash is a solid play.
I dont like the "tapped" preface on Dream Leash.
Crucible also chomps on the "fun factor" due to me having to play the LD suite in the land-base to keep my meta's unhealthy obsession with broken lands down.
Arcanis needs a spot in this deck badly but Im horrible at cutting cards without a second opinion.
... so does Palinchron!
... and Maze of Ith, but I dont wanna lose a land over it. Ive never considered Maze a land but a spell that prevented you from playing lands this turn.
Hes LORTHOS! Just say it with a low, booming voice and you'll want to play him too. Lol.
I need Conundrum Sphinx in here. I have most of the other good Sphinxes.
So ... this is getting kinda long and typing it up at work between calls is kinda frustrating, so Ill leave this up for you guys to critique and make suggestions! Thanks in advance!
Counterspell is a bad counter for multiplayer. At the very least Arcane Denial is better(and keeps the fun factor up for everyone involved) and if you want to keep on stealing stuff I suggest Desertion or Spelljack.
As far as theft effect in general go, check out my Sen Triplets list in my signature for ideas on theft cards, its a theft themed deck so you should be able to find something interesting.

Please remember to autocard, just do [ card ] CARD NAME [ / card ] and for decks you can cover the whole thing in one deck tag like this: [ deck ] All of the cards in the deck [ / deck ]
Have you considered Frost Titan? Kira already counters the first thing that gets tossed at your creatures already, and he just has extra protection, and removes annoying blockers. If you want to watch people scream in terror, add a Tidal Kraken. Instead of Sphinx of lost truths, try a Sphinx of Magosi. Glad to see the pongify, but where is the Diminish? All I can think of off the top of my head for now.
Just wanted to say that I just changed my general to Kira as well, away from Braids, Conjurer Adept. Loldrazi was fun for a while but I'm ready to stop with the annihilator nonsense. I like your style as my deck too has no degenerate combos nor an abundance of lame counterspells.
Your manabase is very very intimidating compared to my (mostly) all islands! I have Sol Ring and a couple other helpers but I'll certainly be trying to learn from yours. The cycling lands seem quite good.
I do have one question though. Playing mono-blue, why don't you have Extraplanar Lens or Gauntlet of Power? I'd think they'd be auto-includes. Did I miss an explanation somewhere?
Thanks for the suggestions! I completely forgot I had this linked in my sig and was shocked to see it brought back up to the first page ...
Shaolin - I certainly do have a ton of Wizards, but the deck is pretty solid on keeping a full hand to keep the flow of dudes. Azami is pretty fragile but seems pretty big reward. Ill test before passing judgement.
Jim - yeah, the kepto and fliers help a ton. Spin into Myth is Ok. Capsize is definately solid but its trouble to find room in the deck.
Helspont - I havnt tried much new stuff for this deck yet. I do have a Frost Titan that has this deck's name all over it. Tidal Kraken is kind of vanilla for teh deck. I originally had a Sphinx of Magosi in the deck, dont know what happened to it. I do enjoy the Sphinx Tribe. Conundrum Sphinx needs a slot in this deck.
SuperSonik - I must have just brain farted on the Lens and Gauntlet. I think one reason I didnt run them was that there is A LOT of blue in my meta.
