This is the results thread for our Project Rank Everything [PRE].
Scores are on a 1-10 scale. Blue Ribbon: Received a first place vote. Heavy Hitter: Received a vote from everyone. Bi-Polar: Even though it received votes from the vast majority, voters varied greatly on where it ranks. Dark Horse: Of the spells that most voters didn't consider, but the minority that did, gave it the strongest support ... worth testing?
Some notes on the voting:
Mother of Runes actually received 13 first place votes to Isamaru's 8, but Isamaru was rarely ranked lower than 2 while poor Mom dropped as low as 6th on some lists.
Suntail Hawk might have ranked a tad higher but seemed to split votes with Lantern Kami.
A handful of voters ranked Savanah Lions over Elite Vanguard.
Goldmeadow Harrier seemed to have the most variance, ranking as high as two and as low as not ranked at all.
Some notes on the voting:
8.5 tails got the most top votes, but also got a 15 vote and a no vote. Ethersworn Canonist didn't make anyone's list, except for one voter who ranked it 1. Silver Knight was the only creature to appear on every list (amazingly).
All votes for identical creatures (like Mistral Charger and Stormfront Pegasus) were ordered alphabetically, so the higher vote went to Mistral Charger no matter what. Similar creatures of different types were not reordered. see discussion for details.
The top four vote getters all made everyone's list (as did Flickerwisp and Stonecloaker). Exalted Angel only got one ranking below 13, which was a 2. Soltari Champion was the only card not in the top three to get a top vote.
Calciderm got the most top votes (8) and not vote below 4th. Academy Rector was the only other card to get multiple top votes (5) but had votes ranging all the way down to not listed. There was clear disagreement after the top four, as every card thereafter had at least four people not even vote for it. Hokori was the only card out of the big four to get a number one vote. Voice of All missed the cut, but actually had more votes than Commander Eesha, whose few voters thought very highly of it (top vote was third).
Baneslayer came as the closest of any card yet to running the table at #1; only two votes out of the top spot, and they both were number two (and both in favor of Reveillark). There was pretty clear agreement in 2-4, though not in their ordering. Reveillark got the most one votes, but got dragged down by two people putting it as the 8th best white 5 drop.
Yosei came out on top of the big three by running away with 7 top votes. Akroma and Eternal Dragon were the only two other cards to make ever list. Pristine Angel was the only card outside of the big three to receive a one vote.
Some notes on the voting:
Land Tax and Swords had quite a battle for first, with every first vote going to one or the other. Four people ranked Path To Exile above Swords to Plowshares. Enlightened Tutor edged out Harm's Way despite being left off a list completely. There was generally not too much variance, except on Porphyry Nodes, which mostly got bottom of the list votes except for two people who ranked it 5th.
Our first perfect score! Not too shocking I suppose. Not too much to discuss here except for the #2 votes given to Luminarch Ascension and Pacifism. None of the cards left off got any high votes (Miltia's Pride was the first card left off). Also, someone really dislikes Temporal Isolation, leaving it off his list completely.
After Oblivion Ring, which all but four ranked first and the rest ranked second, we were all over the place. Glorious Anthem and Scepter of Dominance received a lot of high votes, but also some 10th place votes were even each left off a list completely. Everyone put Prison Term on their list, but no one put it higher than 3rd, and many had it 8th or below. Pulse of the Fields was helped out by a first place vote, but even a first place vote couldn't get Rule of Law on the list, which received no other votes.
There was some confusion on how to rank the two Armageddon effects, but I think they actually ended up placed very well. I felt the need to include the Marshal's Anthem result, and to inform viewers that many of us have not gotten to test out the card yet, so it's ranking may change. 4CC white goes eight deep with bombs that almost everyone can agree on. After that, we were a bit split.
Pretty good stuff here. Sadly we were absolutely no help to people trying to decide between Austere Command and Rout. I will tell you that Rout's voting was a bit more steady, where Austere Command got left off a list, and ranked at the top of another. Only one other card listed got left off anyone's list, and that was Shining Shoal, which barely beat out Righteous Fury, Winds of Rath and Final Judgment for the final spot. I was very impressed at the respect given to Miraculous Recovery in the face of all these Wrath effects. Well ranked gentlemen. Well ranked.
Blue 1cmc is the only category not rated up to 10, since there was serious consideration to not even ranking! So it is done up to rating of 5.
Both Wind Zendicon and Curse Catcher both received 6 1st place votes. All top 6 received at least one top vote.
Even though Looter won, Gilded Drake received a no vote ... which could have changed order.

Debateable placements thus far:
Spectral Procession as a three drop (and a creature). All spells just creating tokens (like Call of the Herd) will be similarly classified as creatures.
Exalted Angel as a 3 drop
Kor Sanctifiers as a 3 drop
Spectral Lynx as a white creature
Momentary Blink as a white spell
Ninjitsu as it's ninjitsu cost.
Ob Nixilis, the Fallen in 6cmc
Silent Specter in 6cmc instead of Morph
I'm suprised Force of Will finished ahead of Bribery. It just isn't consistent enough for me. Even my mono-U decks struggle to have enough blue cards to support it (my mono-U decks are often like half artifacts). And my Ux decks really don't have many cards to pitch too it. It's definitely a good card, but bribery is so ridiculous.
Bribery can be ridiculous, depending on your matchup. It's not as good as a control magic effect in most cases, because it doesn't impact your opponent's board. If I'm playing a control deck using Bribery against aggro, the real value I get from the spell is the ability to look through my opponent's deck... not the fact that I'm grabbing a 3CC creature from his deck for 3UU.
Force of Will on the other hand is a free counterspell. It's hard to compare the two, but I'm rarely ever lacking a FoW target, and the "free" counter is always game-breaking. FoW usually leads to scoopsville for my opponent, whereas Brobery only does that in a matchup where I'm stealing a creature with a greater CMC than the Bribery's (which a good majority of decks don't have).

Yeah, not having real aggro decks makes Bribery better for me. It almost always steals something super awesome.
My problem with FoW isn't lack of targets. My problem is lack of blue cards to throw away. It happens far too often that it just ends up being a cancel that costs 2 extra mana.

That's what I meant by "targets". Cards you can pitch to it.
Saying you never have a blue card to pitch is like saying that cryptic command sucks because I never have UUU available. You have to construct your deck accordingly. FoW doesn't go in a deck with 4 blue cards in it. In a blue heavy deck, it'll shine, and be really powerful. Just like Vedalken Shackles, Cryptic Command, etc...
In all my cube experience, I think I've hard-cast FoW once.

I'm not denying FoW's awesomeness. It's definitely super awesome, and a card I love. I just often find even my mono-U decks is maybe only slightly more than a quarter blue cards. I just end up with a ton of utility artifacts. Things like Top or Puppet Strings or Duplicant or Trike or whatever. It's hardness to use makes it to me less good than Bribery which is pretty much always broken.

Imo Plated Geopede is way better than any other red 2 drop, but that's about it. But yeah, everything looks reasonable.
Plated Geopede received one no vote. The votes it received ranged from 8th to the one 1st place vote.
The only two to beat it did so by receiving votes from everyone.
Hellspark Elemental while not receiving a single 1st place vote, had the most 2nd place votes (about half). Votes ranged from one 10th place but otherwise 6th to 2nd.
Blood Knight won by its solid support by everyone. It received votes ranging from 5th to 1st.
I thought it was interesting that the top 1st place vote getter (Keldon Mauraders) ended up 5th place? Thats why it won the Bi-Polar Award.
I have missed a lot of good red three drops. This list helps my cube a lot, thank you. Can't wait for red spells!
While I generally agree with the rankings for each mana cost, they are definitely not created equal. My 'threshold' for where cards stop being cubeworthy indicate to me that the red 4 drops are full of quality, while red 2 drops are a bit thin on the ground.
Edit: I would argue that Ingot Chewer as a 5mana creature is debateable as well, since I play him as a 1 mana shatter with recurrability.
I posted the Red Spell Results in OP.
The site is glitchy today ... some reduntant spoiler tags I cannot get rid of?!? will fix later. Remember that Green Creatures is OPEN for voting.:)
There was some discussion of Slith Firewalkers low placement on the Should I Run this Card Thread. I thought I could give a rundown on the actual voting that generated these results in response.
First off ... I noticed that half of the descenters didn't vote!!! Let this be a lesson to you!
From Dwarven Miner down, Dwarven Miner and Slith Firewalker did receive the most votes! They both received votes from 6 posters (just over half of the participants). But, Miners average of actual votes was 4.5 where Firewalker's was 1.67 ... meaning voters that ranked them put Miner 6th to 7th place where voters that ranked Firewalker put it 9th to 10th ... I think this says pretty clearly that Miner might be a better include ... now Firewalker vs. other 6 is another story? Firewalker received more votes than the other 6 above it, but the votes they received where slightly higher than the 1.67 average ... and looking at the composite scores, All but Slaughtermaster and Stingscourger are essentially tied with it (don't get to focused on placement on list instead of actual score). Stingscourger received a 1st place vote (it was the most odd 1st place vote I have seen) which skewd its result a little. Slaughtermaster on the other hand received 5 votes averaging 3.2 putting its rank 7th to 8th from voters that ranked it. I was not one of those voters, so I can't say for sure, but it may be better than Firewalker ... I am at least open to the idea.

Land Tax and Swords had quite a battle for first, with every first vote going to one or the other. Four people ranked Path To Exile above Swords to Plowshares. Enlightened Tutor edged out Harm's Way despite being left off a list completely. There was generally not too much variance, except on Porphyry Nodes, which mostly got bottom of the list votes except for two people who ranked it 5th.

Our first perfect score! Not too shocking I suppose. Not too much to discuss here except for the #2 votes given to Luminarch Ascension and Pacifism.
9.3 Armageddon
8.3 Wrath of God
6.9 Elspeth, Knight Errant
6.3 Moat
6.2 Day of Judgement
4.3 Faith's Fetters
4.3 Ravages of War
4.2 Ajani Goldmane
1.8 Parrallax Wave
1.1 Cataclysm
0.9 Marshal's Anthem
Some thoughts on voting:
There was some confusion on how to rank the two Armageddon effects, but I think they actually ended up placed very well. I felt the need to include the Marshal's Anthem result, and to inform viewers that many of us have not gotten to test out the card yet, so it's ranking may change. 4CC white goes eight deep with bombs that almost everyone can agree on. After that, we were a bit split.
5+
8.7 Catastrophe
7.3 Akroma's Vengence
6.0 Austere Command
6.0 Rout
4.4 Miraculous Recovery
3.4 Hallowed Burial
X
7.7 Decree of Justice
7.3 Martial Coup
1.7 Shining Shoal
Some notes on voting:
Pretty good stuff here. Sadly we were absolutely no help to people trying to decide between Austere Command and Rout. I will tell you that Rout's voting was a bit more steady, where Austere Command got left off a list, and ranked at the top of another. Only one other card listed got left off anyone's list, and that was Shining Shoal, which barely beat out Righteous Fury, Winds of Rath and Final Judgment for the final spot. I was very impressed at the respect given to Miraculous Recovery in the face of all these Wrath effects. Well ranked gentlemen. Well ranked.

Did awards ... will do further commentary soon as I can.

All the lists looked pretty reasonable to me.

But it also kinda tells u how terrible Red's three drops are in general.
