I cant seem to find the old Counter-Rebel thread so I made a new one.
What is Counter-Rebels?
Counter-Rebels is essentially a control-based weenie deck that relies on permission spells on the defensive side of the board and Rebel creature on the offensive side of the board. Rebels can also be used to fetch key rebels that could help you control the board. The archetype itself was developed with during Mercadian block when Rebels first saw print.
What goes in Counter-Rebels?
Here are some of the main cards that sees play in rebel decks:
Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero - She is Mother Superior. The main rebel of the deck. She is what keeps the rebel engine going. She will be your friend and she should not leave your side of the board.
Mirror Entity - Its not really a rebel but the changeling clause makes it a rebel. If you are loaded with mana and man, this dude is a good finisher.
Force of Will - The best permission spell in the format.
Brainstorm - With all the shuffling going on, I do not see why this deck cannot abuse this card.
Training Grounds - Newest addition the to deck. This card makes rebel activations really cheap. With multiples, This and Mirror Entity works wonders.
How does a rebel deck look like?
There are different approaches to a Counter-Rebel deck. Here are some examples:
This deck essentially plays like a Counter-Top deck. Try to assemble Counter-Top engine, then try to play rebels underneath its protection.
How does the deck win?
The examples above uses an weenie way to win the game. But with the recent creature power-creep, it seems that the older-frame creatures are inferior to their new-frame counterparts. They simply cannot out-aggro them. Instead of pulling off an aggro win, you can also try to run the life ombo approach to it. With the tool-box nature of rebels, it is not that hard to assemble its pieces, given that you are under its permission protection.
I know this is just a very rough introduction to the deck. Hopefully, some of you will give this deck a chance. Although its not a tier 1 deck, it can definitely show up in some random tournament. I myself have been playtesting this Counter-Rebels off of MWS for a couple of days now and so far, I hasn't given me any disappointments.
Any more ideas to improve this archetype is always welcomed.

I am convinced that WotC is "dumbing" the game because of all the stupid posts they come across on MTG-related forums
I would run a full set of Children of Korlis, at least in the side. If you have Vial @1 versus ANT, you're set to go.
And Jitte has always been helpful in fending off larger creatures.
I mean, hell, we're all on a forum for something that most people would describe as a "children's card game"...do what makes you happy. You are never too old to enjoy yourself.

The reason my lands weren't specified because I do not own any Onslaught Fetches and Tundras. Although on my MWS testing, I have been using this mana base:
So far, the deck itself has been doing great. Although I haven't really had a situation that Lin Sivvi was in danger.
I was thinking of replacing the Dazes with 2x Umezawa's Jitte and 1x Shapesharer but I would imagine that the permission density of the deck would be too little (just relying on Counterbalance and Force of Will).
I am also looking for cheaper alternatives for my land base.

There are different approaches to a Counter-Rebel deck. Here are some examples:
4 Ramosian Sergeant
2 Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero
2 Whipcorder
1 Defiant Vanguard
1 Ramosian Lieutenant
1 Big Game Hunter
1 Children of Korlis
1 Dunerider Outlaw
1 Amrou Scout
1 Mirror Entity
4 Brainstorm
4 Force of Will
4 Training Grounds
3 Standstill
3 Spell Pierce
3 Spellsnare
3 Swords to Plowshares
1 Bound in Silence
The approach of this deck is to have an active rebel searcher under an active Standstill. This version essentially plays like a Landstill deck.

The life combo essentially goes: Task Force + Outrider en-Kor + (Condemn/Miren, the Moaning Well/Diamond Valley)

I also knew that Knight of the Holy Nimbus was a rebel. I also know that he is a beast but under Training Grounds, his regeneration clause gets shafted.

TG = your creatures. So the opponent can't 'freebie' the non regen of nimbus. He's still a house under multiple TG's.
