Okay, it's been at least half a decade since I was able to play a decent game from this truely and possibly only great Magic the Gathering software made by WOTC.
I have tried to download and play it on an hp Pentium 4 w/ Windows XP computer and sadly, I have found no end of grief in getting it running.
Does anyone have a solution as to how I can play this CD on my comp?
just dl the win xp patch from the internet, i think that i've found one here, i think it should work except the 1 i used was split in2 3 parts, this may just be a newer patch

If you're having problems installing the game, just right click the installation file, click "Properties," go into the Compatibility tab, and run it in Compatability mode for Windows 95. I just got a hard copy of the game yesterday and this worked for me.
Thanks guys for the different ideas. Downloading it off the net is out, since I use a phone line, and when I run Windows Compatible mode, I'll see if it actually works.
I have it available for download on my website, however due to the high bandwidth you have to pay $1 via paypal to get to it. http://www.cabalcity.com/mc/programs.htm
I do have the mana link patch and faq for running it on xp there for free though, they are here:
I'm trying to get this download to work according to Mazeura's directions for xp but I am a bit technically challenged How do I run setup.bat? It wasn't part of the download as far as I can see, is there somewhere on my computer to find this? Thanks to anyone who can help!
The most awesome Mazeura got me up and running on this basically-the only thing I can't figure out how to do in the Shandalar world is to buy cards in the villages. I've got the gold but how do I buy cards? Anyone know? Seems like a dumb question but I can't get it to work! Thanks~
hmmm....i cant see the cards that i buy from villages or the ones i win duelling.............in fact..i can only see the cards that are on my deck.....any idea whats happening ???
I want to duel with someone via IP, with manalink 1.3.2, e-mail me (janosbirozero@gmail.com) or MSN: janosbirozero@hotmail.com
So I won Duel of the Planeswalkers on eBay, dug out my discs for the base game and Spells of the Ancients, only to find out that it's not compatible with Windows 2000. Any help out there? I noticed someone asked for help on the first page of the thread, but there was no response.

thx =)
It's an incompatibility with some versions of Windows XP. I can get it to run perfectly in my laptop but I experience the same problem as you do on my desktop. I suspect a graphics card issue, so drivers might have something to do with it...

On another note, does anyone know of an active download for the files for this game? Because The Underdogs' one doesn't work any more...

I don't know if it is the patched up version, but if it is not patched, go and look at ftp://flaminio.com, that site contains all patches needed.
