Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief is my current EDH deck I'm working on. I'm undecided on either making a fun vampire theme tribal deck with her or going the control route with a MBC build. The cards don't fluctuate too much. You can definitely see where the focus is going with each build.
Here are both versions I'm considering:
I would recommend going the MBC build. I've tried Drana in both Tribal and MBC as well. I found the MBC style works much better and as a Tribal General for Vampires You'd be better off with Anowon.
for MBC, Drana is reaaallly good, especially if your good at generating lots of mana (cough, cough, tutor Cabal Coffers and Vesuva, cough) but if your not then there are better options.
Definately Anowon if you want to play vampire tribal
So I played this a couple times this weekend and I won both 5 player games I played with her.
Game one I was able to recover from a Jhoira Devastation with the Lens and Gauntlets making my swamps produce 3 mana each. Later in the game I used Drana to kill the Jhoira players Emrakul, at the same time I did 22 points of general damage to the Rafiq player.
The second game I found out how amazing Black Market is.
I tutored and played the Coffers turn 6 and it was game from there. Kill some creatures, get counters on the Market. Next turn use the Market mana to have Drana kill more creatures and get more counters. I had 17 mana a turn towards the end of the game not counting my Coffers and Deserted Temple on the board.
Drana's flying is so great for finishing off players. Just be careful to leave a few creatures on the board to pump her.
While I totally agree with the above posters that MBC is the way to go, I would like to see a tribal build. But rather than do the obvious thing and go vampires, go MB SHAMANS!
MBC is far, far better in my opinion. Late game, as my EDH group's tend to run, you'll rip better things from the top. Apart from the only semi-exciting ramp cards, MBC is gonna lend you some big, flashy fun spells to throw about.
I've not tested a Mirari in mine, but I think you missed a very important card in its newer brother, Rings of Brighthearth.
Using Drana's ability is fun, and BBX hits two targets and/or is more mana-efficient for X>2 than without. Royal Assassin enjoys the killing as well.
Add in Thawing Glaciers and mana accelerating is faster; Deserted Temple changes to "3: Untap target land" which can go infinite with a Coffers and only 6 swamps. Although not nearly as relevant, it can double-disk/O-Stone to better guarantee the death of Persist-ers and regeneraters; Discard extra with Vess, hurt more players with Sorin, and fetch an extra land with Expedition Map. Even normal Fetchlands enjoy it if you want to slip in that exceedingly minor deck-thinning / shuffling.
The Rings will replace the Mirari. There are only 15 Mirari targets in the 100 card deck. I've used it once to copy a consume spirit and I am never that happy to see it in my hand. The Rings have more targets in the deck too.
I removed the Unnerve because its unnecessary to piss everyone off at once. I replaced it with the Mind Twist on a stick; Bloodhusk Ritualist.
I have a ton of mana late game and have been drawing too many swamps. I added Maga as another X damage spell to sink a bunch of mana into.
I really want to add a Temporal Extortion but I don't know where to fit it....
**EDIT**
- Mind Sludge + Temporal Extortion (The Sludge isn't always great. I have 3 "discard X cards" aleady so in goes the amazing black Time Warp.
- Nevinyrral's Disk + All is Dust After being screwed this week with a indestructable Iona, I want more colorless stuff. It also leaves my mana accelerators alone.

If so, I think it would be more fun to do Tribal Vampires.
Really? Maga is good but who else?
I like Drana's creature kill ability. With her built in evasion 21 General damage should be easy. Just target any fliers.
