Captivating Vampire 1BB (Rare)
Creature - Vampire
Other Vampires you control get +1/+1.
Tap five untaped vampires you control : You gain control of target creature. It becomes vampire in addition to other types.
2/2
New vampire load! he doesn't give flying, but gaining control might be very strong in late games. (note: it does NOT end at the end of turn. )
Assuming they reprint Goyf, they could make it uncommon if they really wanted to. It's not like it would break limited or anything. I'm just not sure they'd want to drive its price into the ground for all of time. Shocks could be uncommon, too. It's not like dual lands are going to warp limited.
Oh cool, it's like the old Onslaught "lords", only it pumps! I hope this doesn't mean Nocturnus is gone though, because as neat as this guy is, he's no Nocturnus.
Byebye Nocturnus. Don't really like this one too much. It's a little different from the straight-up lords, sort of a hybrid of Elvish Champion-types and the Onslaught lords.
Good shizz. Loving how it's just a normal rare and not a mythic.
I also love the ability too; it can be just backbreaking and excellent at busting stalemates. While it does encourage vampires to overextend, it does play well with recurring Bloodghasts and the tap effect does work on itself.
Edit: Well I don't know what I'm talking about. I just remembered the "tap 5" lords. Woops.
Also, this looks nice, but I don't know if current vampire decks can use it. The whole "tap five vampires" thing isn't very aggro, but I'm not incredibly familiar with vampires and they might have a little more variety than I think.
I kinda sigh at this... If this is the lord and there is no Vampire Nocturnus, vampires die... Well, vampires we know die... Maybe my control list will get some love :D!!!
EDIT:
If Nocturnus does return, vampires could be a little annoying with this dude.
I can see this getting played in combo vamps (wth Kalastria Highborn and Vampire Aristocrat). It's also interesting because, a lot like the Merfolk lord in Zendikar, it fuels itself by making its victims Vampires too, for a sort of cascading effect.
I like it. Unconditional lord which is cheaper; it pushes Vamps into a more aggressive approach. The other ability is interesting indeed. I wonder if we might see a vampire token generator soon - though that is probably too much to ask for.
I don't know...it seems underwhelming to me. If there were some way to make vamp tokens or something...It seems useless to me if Nocturnus doesn't get reprinted.

"I don't know why people say a double-edged sword is bad. It's a sword. With two edges." - Kamahl, Pit Fighter
On another note, vampire decks are going to be reworked heavily to fit this guy in. Hopefully M11 and Scars will provide us with new vampires that are usable.
this could possibly push vampires toward a more aggro setting, like Vampire Lacerator and Guul Draz Vampire coming down early to take opponents threats

but -sigh- looks like i'm gonna have to rework my vampire deck to accomodate this new lord.... much recursion needed to get his second ability off.
