Some of the packs in the first print run of Zendikar did contain "Hidden Treasures" such as the power 9, dual lands, and other classic cards. I believe the ratio was 1 per case, and they replaced the land in the pack.
In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck ********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like this to occur and validate you.

It was not one per case. It was much rarer than that.

Anyway.
http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=186613&highlight=priceless+treasures this entire thread should help you on what kind of cards were included. In short: Dual-Lands were the more "common" ones, really old artifacts were there... basically, anything Alpha/Beta/Revised that was considered "impacting" at a time. There's a good list.

I think if you worked it out, taking into account how many packs you need to buy to get a "treasure", and the average value of the treasures (many of them were old crap cards not worth anything), you'd get an added value per booster pack of about 1/100th of a cent. But apparently we well for it, because the entire first print run sold out in mere minutes.
