Hey guys. My question is this; If I have 5 untapped vampires on the field (including Captivating Vampire), and my opponent uses Gideon Jura's animate ability, will I be able to use Captivating Vampire's second ability to gain control of Gideon Jura? And if so, at the end of the turn, do I retain control of Gideon Jura when it turns back into a Planeswalker?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, Gideon Jura would be a legal target for Captivating Vampire's ability, as it is a creature. Since that control-changing effect doesn't expire, you will retain control of Gideon Jura even when it stops being a creature. (Gideon Jura never stops being a planeswalker, it just gains the card type "creature".)
So, after Gideon stops being a creature, does that mean he's a Planeswalker - Gideon Vampire? Can non-creatures retain creature types without the Tribal type?

No, he'll lose the Vampire creature type when he's not a creature. That effect is still there, and if Gideon Jura becomes a creature again, he'll have the Vampire creature type.

when the ability resolves; it changes the controller of gideon; when it stops being a creature, nothing changes the controller back
Thank you Mr. Stuff for the awesome sig and avatar =)
