The recent involvement of the concept of Phyrexia in the story is bringing up again and again one important storyline question. I decided to address this issue in a sticky thread in order to prevent long and fruitless discussions.
Yawgmoth, the ruler of Phyrexia, Lord of the Wastes, Father of Machines, is DEAD. He's passed on. He is no more! He has ceased to be! He is expired and gone to meet his maker! He is a stiff! Bereft of life, he rests in peace! He kicked the bucket, He has shuffled off his (apparently)mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!
Okay, now for serious. Yawgmoth was vanquished by the Legacy union at the end of Apocalypse.
J.R.King's book Scourge describes the meeting of the goddess Karona with someone existing only as disembodied voice, who claims to be Yawgmoth, in the ruins of Phyrexia. This is officially considered to be an alternate version of history, a vision or a hallucination brought up by Karona. Either way, it is not considered to be true, or 'real', if you want.
The Creative has addressed this issue explicitly (among others, in the card Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth), and while the current team is in charge, Yawgmoth is and remains dead.

The role of the leader of Phyrexia, formerly occupied by Yawgmoth. After Yawgmoth's death, Phyrexia was defeated on Dominaria. At this time, the civilization of Phyrexia on Mirrodin has not found a new Father of Machines.
Father of Machines, his honorary title, may be used in the future, according to evidence, by the new Phyrexians in a metaphysical sense. That makes Yawgmoth, of course, no less dead than before (see quote above).
Please, respect this in the discussions and stop posting convoluted theories about the possibility of his return.
