[GP] Some Morsels of New Cards

An anonymous source that has delivered in the past hit me up with some 'morsels' of guildpact info...not complete cards, but info is info, right?

There is a monoblack uncommon card called 'Exhumer Thrull'. I think it has haunt, with a raise dead effect.

There is a gruul gold creature 'Scab-Clan Mauler' (I kid ye not) who has bloodthirst 2 and trample to boot. He is an uncommon, by the way.

Gruul's common guildmana card is 'wild cantor', a creature that you can sacrifice for 1 mana of any color. The art is pretty cool too, I think Glenn Fabry did the art for it.

Exhumer Thrull sounds like a good limited card. Gravedigger was decent and a possible double raise dead out of one creature sounds better.

Agent of Masks sounds decent, but it all depends on the mana cost and p/t, but also a decent casual multiplayer card.

Wild Cantor is disappointing. Sure Green is the mana generating creatures color, and lately red has gotten the Seething Song piece of the pie, but never the any color factor. The hybrid cards have definitely been stretching the color pie (see Giant Solifuge) but the effect seems rather boring by itself. I guess all the common hybrid cards have been rather dull now that I think about it. Lurking Informant is the least dull of the bunch, and it's still pretty damn dull.

can't say how good each card is without the rest of the info, but it looks nice, espesially scab-clan (bloodthirst+trample=fun).

Mmmm, tasty. Yet not filling.

It's kind of hard to formulate complete thoughts on these cards when they themselves are not complete, but I can post my hopes for them.

Exhumer Thrull will likely cost a fair bit (probably or somewhere in the vicinity thereof), you get two guys back, but you'll be down two guys as well assuming both haunt events happen.

Scab-Clan Mauler sounds kinda good, but will depend on his final cost and stats. I think a 4/3 for is reasonable, but it'll probably end up a 3/3 at that price. Though who knows, they certainly seem to be pushing Gruul beef.

I don't really get why Agent of Masks has to be gold. It seems like a perfectly fine mono-black ability. There must be something we're missing ability-wise.

Wild Cantor doesn't seem all that good. I hope he's only /. Even then it doesn't really do that much. But I guess that's the story for most of the common guildmana cards.

If it's toughness isn't to low Wild Cantor might work with followed footsteps.If the agent is damage instead of drain life at least it could help bloodlust in limited.

they at least seem plausible. nothing outstanding, at least they don't sound too great from that description. need the full details to know for sure.

Exhumer Thrull: agreed, probably 3B, or even 2BB: I do like the effect, esp. with Haunt.
Scab-Clan Mauler: love the name, it's just so cheesy that it works. This'll obviously be a near-bomb in Limited, unless it's a 1/1 or something, with a ridiculously high casting cost.
Agent of Masks: yeah, it does sound mono-black, but the Orzhov guild just isn't really pulling it together yet. Still lots of room for optimism...and there have been some good cards for this guild.
Wild Cantor: again, agreed: hopefully, only a one casting cost, although I'll put my money on 1G/R.

Artists: Walker and Staples have been "staples" (ooh, bad bad pun..I am so sorry) for awhile now, so no real surprise that they're the most frequent in this set.

huh....wow. Im guessing/speculating, the CC on this will be more than 5. make it balanced...because if its any lower, I can guarantee, it WILL be a powerful card. sap life with a playset on the field in 5 turns or less...

Subversion on legs, eh? That card is a casual nightmare and Agent of Masks is likely to be, too. Limited will love it to death unless it's too highly costed, but as it's uncommon I doubt that. Scab-Clan Mauler could be great or could be junk. We'll have to wait and find out. The others are good sounding, but awfully vague. Wild Cantor fills a good role, but I kind of feel it's wasting good hybrid mana. :manarg: for a 1/1 with that makes sense, but I wish it was just green and something else was the common hybrid mana.

I think, that 3wb is the mana cost for the guild hero. 'Agent of Masks' mana cost shoulb be wbb, wb or 1wb.

Scab-clan mauler sounds like the kind of creature I would love to play. I just hope it isn't a 1/1 for 5 mana or something like that.

Oh I dunno about that, Lurking Informant and Gaze of the Gorgon are pretty cool, and the Centaur guy whose name escapes me isn't bad. This is just lame. They couldn't come up with anything better than ****ing Blood Pet?

They could cost the agent lower than 5 for a number of reasons:
It's a gold card.
It's more fragile.
Subversion was overcosted to begin with except in multiplayer (compare with Honden of Infinite Rage which can target creatures)
