[GP] Skeletal Vampire (picture on post 154)

pabi posted the Italian name of this card a couple days ago, but until then that's all we knew about it. I just got word from an anonymous but trustworthy source!

Skeletal Vampire -

Creature - Vampire Skeleton (R)
Flying
When Skeletal Vampire comes into play, put two 1/1 black Bat creature tokens with flying into play.

, Sacrifice a Bat: Put two 1/1 black Bat creature tokens with flying into play.
Sacrifice a Bat: Regenerate Skeletal Vampire.

Not bad! For six mana, you get 5 flying power, two creature sacrificing abilities, and a token generation ability! This guy is a win condition in itself, along with a way to keep himself from dying. And black was looking for a token generator to go with several Golgari and Orzhov spells.

Bat tokens? I wonder how many bat-generators are there going to be... :/ this guy seems okay in limited, but constructed? Meh.

It kinda reminds me of Marrow-Gnawer with his token sac ability. Hey this is also a neat way to kill off Blind Hunter and get the haunt effect. :tongue3:

THis guy seems to be a limited bomb. I doubt he is constructed playable though. THanks for the card RE.

Looks decent, perhaps a bit expensive for constructed though. 3BB for one bat token is a bit expensive. It could have been costed at 4cc and been ok.

If he was combined with Teysa, Orzhov Scion , you could get a nice little cycle of tokens going but with a more focused effect than g/w typically acomplishes. I like it.

Yeah it is really good in limited espically because he fuels himself. The fact that he is a 3/3 doesn't make him overly powerful on his on. If you draft like GPD/GPD/RAV if you draft him you have to be a little weary of last gasp though. Great limited card though, Guildpact seems really amazing.

Most likely on one of the tokens. Which you promptly sacrifice to make more tokens. Heh heh.

This guy is going to be silly in limited. Too bad he's probably too expensive for constructed.

Hehe, they printed a 'bat man'.

Better than say, Marrow-Gnawer and such. Cool to see one of these be good for once in the days since Deranged Hermit.

edit: A skeleton vampire...he doesn't need blood, you think he eats marrow instead? Heh :P

Tesya just got a LOT better.

At first I thought the 'sac a bat, get 2 bats ability' was just a messy version of 'get a bat'. Then I realized that if I can kill all your bats, you can't make more. Besides the obvious eating of tapped bats to get untapped bats after attacking.

I like this card.

Casts Goblin Charbelcher and activates. He reveals 13 cards and the 14th is a Mountain. 26 damage to the opponent. Game over. OMFG A 8 CARD COMBO, BROKEN! You my friend, have put teh t3ch in type 2.
