[GP] Ostiary Thrull and Steamcore Weird

While visiting some of the card shops in Beantown, I found a couple of random commons lying on the table from GP. Most of the cards are already known, but a few aren't.

No, I can't provide scans until tomorrow afternoon. But nothing here is that amazing.

Like many Izzet creations, weirds are based on wild contradictions yet somehow manage to work.

Hey, can we get a scan maybe? I want to see the art on steamcore weird, although its probably just the art on one of those boosters.

In other words, sweet! I think the weird should be a solid limited card.

That pile is a 1/3 for . And it's not even a Spirit.

On the plus side, it DOES have a built-in Shock. But couldn't it have just been a 1/4?

The thrull is good limited material, I'm sure.

This guy is pretty useful in limited. The cost of the tap ability is cheap. 4cc is very reasonable for it, but only if you can pay .

This guy is even better, but only if you can pay .
They might not be first picks, but they are both very playable IMHO.

Well well, yet more limited cards, they just keep coming and coming :/. The Steamcore isn't so bad, but it's not even halfway near Flametongue, at least it's blue damage that can kill Paladins

Ah, good riddance. I'm so sick of people saying "oh this is just good in limited, gp sucks, bla bla bla".

I think guildpact is very cool (except haunt, i have to agree, haunt sucks) and there are a decent amount of playable constructed cards in it.

you must be joking - Steamcore is awesome in limited. Removal/burn attached to a body is always nice and this guy is not so awfully overcosted. Of course it's total jank in constructed, but not all comons have to be of STE quality.

Very cool cards... but I would like to ask you WTF IS UP WITH THAT THRULL? I'm sorry, but I just have some minor issues with any thrull that does not start off its ability by saying "sacrifice" or "when it attacks and is unblocked, you may sacrifice it"

EDIT: Looked at the spoiler, and at the very least, Mourner Thrull doesn't have a sac ability... Why, oh why wizards! How could you have gone so wrong? All the poor thrulls asked for was to be sacrificed...

Pretty solid, I guess, I like the flavor text on the Ostiary Thrull, fits well with the Orzhov.

Ravnica's thrulls are a bit different the FE's. They mixed white with them and this is what you get.
