Obviously, neither of these are cubable, but hopefully we can divine something from them. If these are the actual card-arts from the new set, then Suture Priest really makes the case for New Phyrexia. I just recently removed a life-gain subtheme from white in my cube. If these cards are any indication of what the rest of the set might look like, I may consider putting it back in.

Yet another reason I hope Mirrodin wins: How stupid the Phyrexian mark looks as an expansion symbol.

i really, really hope that means we are getting enemy color talismans.

Seems like it should be decent in commons cube, but by no means omgwindmillslam. May end up not making it if the artifact/colorless section isn't big enough for it.

There are about a bazillion 2 drop mana fixing artifacts I would play before this 3cc one.

But to be honest. If you got multiple Suture Priests out, Forbidden orchard could be a lot of fun.

I'm really hoping for Phyrexian. Even though it means less cards for cube it would fit be perfectly, as we've gotten a bazillion good cards recently.

But what's more important is that I love the phyrexian flavor while the mirran one seems a bit dull to me.

Doesn't matter to me what set we get, as long as the red white sword is in both

I really hope we get a life gain themed set. That would make my inner noob so happy:)

A few random thoughts:
- What? Already?
- No cards for cube, just like it was with the first two MBS cards.
- The Phyrexian symbol looks a bit too small, while the Mirran symbol looks a bit too big.
- Don't like the Priest as a monowhite card. Should cost WB, maybe with a little strength or toughness boost.
- The Mirrodin Pure / New Phyrexia question shouldn't concern a cube player for card power reasons. MBS gave us a dozen cubable cards, even if it was full of Phyrexians and their dreaded Infect. So don't be afraid, NP should give us enough new cube cards.
- The only thing that should concern you is in the MP / NP battle are flavor reasons.
- That said: All will be one!

FML. When I saw Pristine Talisman I read it as costing two. When I saw Suture Priest I read it as being a 2/1.

I've also got to complain about the color pie being eaten by Suture Priest. What is next, Life Tax?

Really, really white card WOTC.

I hope New Phyrexia wins out. Mainly because I have always loved the Phyrexian fluff, and would prefer that it keeps going. Mechanically, I don't think it will make much difference for the cube. It isn't like NP would be 100% cards with infect.

yeah it straight up makes no sense. but they've been ☺☺☺☺ting all over the color pie more and more lately. i honestly don't understand it.

I definitely think "Action" will be New Phyrexia, because from a flavor standpoint, you have this epic force from the past invading a plane, only to get blocked? What's the point?

except that's the plot of 99% of invasion films and books. so it's not like there's no precedent. i think it will be new phyrexia just to maintain the symmetry of 20%, 50%, 80%, but i don't think it will be that way because no one ever beats back the invasion.

This. It really bothers me that we just got 3 consecutive colorless enchantment removals in just the last few sets (Ulamog, All is Dust, Spine of something). I went for years having Nev's Disk as my only card in monoblack that could hit enchantments and I survived just fine.

Oblivion Stone was years after Nev's Disk and also not in the last few sets. It more like what's the point of having a weakness when you can just throw in colorless answers?

If the answer costs black seven mana whereas colors that are better at dealing with enchantments only have to pay one or two, I hardly think that that the weakness is made negligable.
