No, alphabetical order isn't important. You have the cards split by thier cmc which is perfect. It would also be a good idea to use the [*deck] or [*cards] tags (without the '*') to hyperlink all your cards.
@islip: There is also the noparse command
[card]shock[/card]/noparse] gives you
[card]shock[/card]
@Ponder: You don't even need to sort your cards manually at all, since I have made a tool for this (see signature).
uh im not that tech savvy sorry eidolon, my cube lives half the time shuffled, half the time sorted, so its no problem typing colour, by cost etc. i just didnt want to have to list them alphabeticaly
uh a question the way im typing it out, is that fine for your cube comparison thread? or is there a better way?
No, that is fine. You could however enter your cube at deckstats (http://deckstats.net/index.php?lng=en) first, since that takes care of the misspelled cards.
You just copy + paste everything to the site above except the part with "Basic Cube Information" and uncheck the option called "Interpret card names without a number as "1x card name".
a big thank you eidolon232! thanks for that, though it will prolly not be for a while until i finish typing up my list, only typed up 160/540 sofar.
though i look forward to having the list displayed, so you guys arent so confused by my cube, im the first one to admit some of the card choices require somewhat of an explination.
Yay. I love looking through nontraditional lists. I am on a serious budget, and have nearly exhausted the cheap cards I can find through eidelon's fantastic cube compilation list.
You'll undoubtedly get lots of more impressive feedback, but: how has Cobra Trap played? In most cubes, there is a lot of artifact and land destruction, as well as random planeswalker/enchantment/whatever removal. Cobra Trap actually seems like it might make a lot of snakes in a typical cube match...
Oh, and Splinter seems worthless in a singleton format, no?

Oh, and Splinter seems worthless in a singleton format, no?
Firstly thanks for the positive feedback. sorry its only a list atm, and to text, or explinations.
akwardly, im anxious about getting LOLd at, and confused at my card choices, it seems a lot of ppl like their Power Cubing. but, thanks again for the positive feedback, many rainbows in return.
Cobra Trap is ok, but i dont think the last few times it got played it was at the cheaper cost. im basically missing some key token generating cards like Call of the Herd, and it was put in just to make snakes, it would be nice to see it trap! but it hasnt come up yet.
Splinter, was put in as one of the few cards that could remove Sensai's Divining Top, which got uncubed, btw, and its gone really well as a quasi-permission card, giving information on the hand, and library state.
the artefact removal thats i think sub-par atm is Slice in Twain, Mystic Melting does it for G3, not GG2. but a little redundancy never hurt, its just i would prefer the effect less mana intensive.
I'd go through those cube comparison threads, and pick up the suggested adds that are all < $1. You'll save money picking up those cheap cards first, and it'll have a tremendous impact on the quality of the cube. Like, night and day difference. $20 at a time, you could turn this list into a beast in a couple of months.
Ya, that's a great list of cheap cards that would be very beneficial to have in this list. It's the best starting point I can think of for improvement.
Here is a fixed version of your cube without all the typos.
Gosh! Gosh! Gosh!
One Internet to you eidolon232!
i think thats the nicest thing someone has done for me in ages, bro! serious!
its so nice to see the cube comparison. i hope my cube doesnt mess with your data. maybe it could be grouped with tribal cubes or someting, so it doesnt affect the comparisons.
Gosh! again. its nice to see all those exclamation points, its like the CC is exited by my cards, maybe a bit anthropomorphic, but i get exited easily i suppose.
also thank you for fixing my typos. im a terrible typer, and unfortunately F7 doesnt spell check magic cards.
No problem. I basically didn't do much except what I already explained in post #7, which took care of 50+ and highlighted a dozen cards that I could quickly correct manually, since your cube was already sorted. (Otherwise it would be pretty hard to match Putery with Putrify ).
thank you ill copy all of your work into the OP.
i dont know what happened with Putery.. i guess that its 7 am where i am is my only reason, no excuse mind you.. but thanks again..
yeah thanks for your continual help, since before the thread even.
can i ask? do, in Bavaria, you cube with english or german cards?
I don't really know anybody who actually buys German cards. Many of the new cards are German, because of some tournaments where you had to play with German cards / get German product as prices. Other than that I only acquire German card when they are significantly cheaper or in rl trades, where you can't be too picky. With a 60 card sample of random cards from my cube I have about 30% German cards among them.
Edit: I guess Bavarian Magic cards would be a lot of fun, with "Duslmackerl" (luck counters from Chance Encounter) or "Oachkatzerlspujstoandal" (squirrel tokens from Deranged Hermit), but the local dialect changes way too much that it would be useful to publish anything Bavarian in written form.
Looks like youll have to make up some "Oachkatzerlspujstoandal" tokens on Magic Card Editor, for the cube, and lulz obv.
it looks like Oak Cats something Toad.. i guess a squirel looks a little like an Oak Cat-Toad..
so in return for your help i would honestly like to send you some english cards for the cube..
i have spare Balance and Savannah Lions from revised in english and some of the more modern cards.. idk which ones to suggest, you dont have photos of your cube
Your list is looking pretty good for a new cube, Its a lot better than what mine was a couple of months ago. There's no need to be anxious/embarrassed about your card choices yet. Just from playing it you will quickly realise some cards are awesome and some are aweful. Many cards will surprise you.
Have you had a chance to draft your cube yet? How many players do you have?

I actually prefer German cards because I cube with a lot of new and very casual players who don't know all the cards and terms and having them in German is easier for them most of the time.
Have you had a chance to draft your cube yet? How many players do you have?
uhuh i drafted it with 9 other scubs, so a ten man is the biggest ive cubed.
one big problem at the moment is i dont trust a couple of players at the local games shop.
the people in the capital i trust 100%, but sorry some of the ppl that play localy are completely immoral.
and i dont want to cube with ppl i dont like.
drafting is np, i know my cards arent going to go missing.
but i worry about my cube, its taken a lot of personal time to make.
so i have a few ppl that continualy ask me to bring in the cube, its just that i never can organise a time to play with the ppl im freinds with there.
tho i might try to bring it to the next PTQ in melbourne, its just that im not a good organiser
so i guess at the moment its a comprimise, i dont cube. quite sad really.
this is mainly due to that i dont go to Melbourne much anymore, mainly for financial reasons, and laziness.
though i get to talk to a lot of knowledgeble ppl about my cube, as it has an unconventional design philosophy. probably, one of the players i most liked talking cube with is Mark Brown, hes a tier 4 Judge, youve prolly met him at PTQ Sydney, hes head judge a lot. also he is a really nice person.
and i have one friend Dwayne Chonka, with zero pro points who is surprising intelligent to talk to about cube, even though he doesnt own one himself.
Cube Comparison Data thanks to eidolon232, is now in the OP.
suggestions for the black section would be a great help.
anything to decrease the mana intensive cards, i noticed i only have a single 3 drop, with only one black mana as a requirement Phyrexian Rager, and the only four drop i can see with one black mana as a requirement is Dimir House Guard.
was thinking these are some inexpensive cards, that have less intensive black mana requirement that the average black creature, in that cost.
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.
I have noticed a potential error in your list: under black spells there is a card named Phyrexian Revoker, which could be Phyrexian Reclamation. (Which also means that the Revoker is missing in your artifact section.)
(I am using the cards from post#13 as a basis for potential changes.)
Phyrexian Rager is the black card eidolon232, thanks for noticing that.
thank you for noticing and help with fixing all the formating and typing problems.
Phyrexian Revoker sure is 100% in the artefact section, i have missed Disfigure somewhere there too, idk if i have missed any others, prolly one or two more...
Here is what I would change:
Viscera Seer -> Carnophage
Viscera Seer and some of the other 1 drops in other colours too, are just to increase the saturation of one drops, and to be honest i would still like a few more. Quest for the Gravelord is in place for Sarcomany, its just a little to expensive for what it does, i understand Sarcomancy is a powerhouse on par with Isamaru or Goblin Guide, but im trying to fill the cube out with inexpensive cards.
Parasite is definately sub par, happy to replace with another one drop
Shadow Guildmage -> Fledgling Djinn
will include Djinn, but Shadow Guildmage does a lot in the cube, IMHO
Bloodthrone Vampire -> Oona's Prowler
i like Bloodthrone, though Prowler would be a nice card for re-animate
Urge to Feed -> Nantuko Shade
prolly not even going to replace UtF with Grasp of Darkness i like supporting tribes in the cube, and i like vampires, it has come up, btw
Guul Draz Vampire -> Dauthi Marauder
oh GDV is one of the best black one drops, i would maybe rate Will-o'-theWisp higher but i dont own to cube..
Necrotic Ooze -> Plague Sliver
Uhuh i know Juzam Djinn 2.0 is a staple..
Soul Collector -> Ob Nixilis, the Fallen
oh its morph, Soul Collector, has performed really well, and morphs play well in two player.
Midnight Charm -> Night's Whisper
Midnight Charm is modal removal, its so good bro, it has two and half ways to kill things..
Simulacrum -> Phyrexian Arena
oh this should already be in, i own and cube... my mistake with typing, again sorry
Tendrils of Corruption -> Graveborn Muse
yeah this is really solid CA
Dimir House Guard -> Braids, Cabal Minion
oh Dimir does well for me, transmutes for good things..
Eradicate -> Snuff Out
Snuff Out is good. though i like the permission element that black has with duress type effects, its nice to see their deck, but i guess Go for the Throat, does this at 2 mana..
Smallpox -> Innocent Blood
no. no. no. no.
Smallpox is Smallpox bro, its superior to Pox in every way.
Executioner's Capsule -> Terror
Capsule can be recurred with Academy Ruins, and Glissa
Spread the Sickness -> Diabolic Edict
Spread the Sickness is in as proliferate card, but i think there should be something better with the proliferate mechanic coming with Action, StS definately is a sub-par card, just trying the proliferate mechanic out i suppose
Big Game Hunter -> Boneshredder
oh personal preference, Boneshredder wont get in...
Big Game Hunter is not that good i know..
Marsh Casualties -> Bane of the Living
i have Black Sun's Zenith in atm, idk if Marsh Causalties is still a good card..
Consume the Meek -> Barter in Blood
CtM works ok as a SB card
Persecute -> Hymn to Tourach
would <3 the Susan Van Camp HtT, ill have to wait until i get to the capital, a freind at another card shot, will prolly sell me half the cards i still need to get for half price or AUS$.50 each cause hes a really nice guy
Ravenous Rats -> Liliana's Specter
rats are more splashable, i dont care about the body they leave behind
Dance of the Dead-> Animate Dead
Animate Dead will definately be getting cubed soon, though in place of Soul Exchange
Soul Exchange -> Necromancy
Necromany is definately a good card, pity about the art tho..
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.
firstly one drops are important, to a few archetypes, and i have a large-ish cube, i would prefer to increase the amount of one drops in all primary colours, esp. when i make the upgrade from 40 creatures to 50, increasing aggressive cards will be a priority.
of the one drop black creatures, Guul Draz Assassin might make it as the black level-up creature, the other level-up creatures have worked well. it looks really good, but strangely i havent gotten a copy yet..
Pulse Tracker i dont really agree with the genereal concensus here, it prolly wont make it in.
Viscera Seer it isnt the removal of Fume Spitter, but i think scry1 is a good enough ability, to be included in the cube.
Will-o'-the-Wisp, i like to include alpha cards, it flys, and regens, it hold equipment well.
Urge to Feed, could either be Grasp of Darkness, or Last Gasp. it really hasnt had a down-side compared to GoD, tho Last Gasp would be more colour freindly.
yeah Soul Collector is a really good blocker eidolon232, really solid, and it gets played as a morph a lot, either as filler, or in black as a combat trick. i havent had a problem with this card, the CMC:P/T argument is a bit like exalted angel, it plays a bit differently every game.
Midnight Charm, is a lot like Disfigure, its just that its modal, so it trades power for versatility. it can make blocks unfavourable with first strike, or tap the finisher before attacks, survive the turn then attack for the win, is pretty common.
Dimir House Guard, i need some B3 CMC4 black creatures in the cube. it has worked out surprisingly well, as it has fear and regen when you just need a beatstick.
Eradicate, yeah, sure ill agree, since go for the Throat this hasnt looked so good, should be getting the chop
Capsule, works with Trinket Mage, and comes out early to get around counter spells. it works fine.
Spread the Sickness, yeah ill agree its sub-par
Marsh Casualties, could get the cut sure
Smallpox, kills land and discards too..
Barter in Blood is a control only card, i dont like it much, sorry
wait what? rats doesnt make it into a two or three colour deck? im usually pretty happy to play rats, i like it a lot. "colour freindly" is prolly the better term.
i'm sure it works just fine as an alright removal spell, my point is that it would be better if it was easier to cast and had a more likely upside. having the vampire thing come up a few times doesn't justify all the times it doesn't come up (where it's strictly worse than last gasp and grasp of darkness). if it's coming up frequently, though, you guys must have weird luck.

no not weird luck, its not as powerful or colour freindly as GftT or Doom Blade, so its more likely to get played by a player heavy in black, which has a few vampires.
also i cut a few vampires recently, so ive been looking to put some more in..

If you need 4cc black creatures, why reject the very best black 4-drop: Braids, Cabal Minion? She's like 10x the card the House-Guard is. She's crazy good.

No, alphabetical order isn't important. You have the cards split by thier cmc which is perfect. It would also be a good idea to use the [*deck] or [*cards] tags (without the '*') to hyperlink all your cards.

uh im not that tech savvy sorry eidolon, my cube lives half the time shuffled, half the time sorted, so its no problem typing colour, by cost etc. i just didnt want to have to list them alphabeticaly
uh a question the way im typing it out, is that fine for your cube comparison thread? or is there a better way?
Magic Work Station Winston-180 http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=315755
a big thank you eidolon232! thanks for that, though it will prolly not be for a while until i finish typing up my list, only typed up 160/540 sofar.
though i look forward to having the list displayed, so you guys arent so confused by my cube, im the first one to admit some of the card choices require somewhat of an explination.
Magic Work Station Winston-180 http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=315755
My $40 MTGO cube
Draft my cube at Cubetutor!
Magic Work Station Winston-180 http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=315755
And Splinter doesn't remove Sensei's Divining Top, btw.

Gosh! Gosh!
Gosh! again. its nice to see all those exclamation points, its like the CC is exited by my cards, maybe a bit anthropomorphic, but i get exited easily i suppose.
also thank you for fixing my typos. im a terrible typer, and unfortunately F7 doesnt spell check magic cards.
thank you thank you thank you
Magic Work Station Winston-180 http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=315755
thank you ill copy all of your work into the OP.
i dont know what happened with Putery.. i guess that its 7 am where i am is my only reason, no excuse mind you.. but thanks again..
yeah thanks for your continual help, since before the thread even.
can i ask? do, in Bavaria, you cube with english or german cards?
Magic Work Station Winston-180 http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=315755

Have you had a chance to draft your cube yet? How many players do you have?
My Cube.
Casual Decks
UG Madness GU
W Stonehewer Equipment W
WU Millfolk UW
B Necroskitter (FFA) B
WU Multi-Kicker (FFA) UW
BW Near-Death Experience (FFA) WB
I actually prefer German cards because I cube with a lot of new and very casual players who don't know all the cards and terms and having them in German is easier for them most of the time.
uhuh i drafted it with 9 other scubs, so a ten man is the biggest ive cubed.
one big problem at the moment is i dont trust a couple of players at the local games shop.
the people in the capital i trust 100%, but sorry some of the ppl that play localy are completely immoral.
and i dont want to cube with ppl i dont like.
drafting is np, i know my cards arent going to go missing.
but i worry about my cube, its taken a lot of personal time to make.
so i have a few ppl that continualy ask me to bring in the cube, its just that i never can organise a time to play with the ppl im freinds with there.
tho i might try to bring it to the next PTQ in melbourne, its just that im not a good organiser
so i guess at the moment its a comprimise, i dont cube. quite sad really.
this is mainly due to that i dont go to Melbourne much anymore, mainly for financial reasons, and laziness.
though i get to talk to a lot of knowledgeble ppl about my cube, as it has an unconventional design philosophy. probably, one of the players i most liked talking cube with is Mark Brown, hes a tier 4 Judge, youve prolly met him at PTQ Sydney, hes head judge a lot. also he is a really nice person.
and i have one friend Dwayne Chonka, with zero pro points who is surprising intelligent to talk to about cube, even though he doesnt own one himself.
Chonka and i often soloman.

suggestions for the black section would be a great help.
anything to decrease the mana intensive cards, i noticed i only have a single 3 drop, with only one black mana as a requirement Phyrexian Rager, and the only four drop i can see with one black mana as a requirement is Dimir House Guard.
was thinking these are some inexpensive cards, that have less intensive black mana requirement that the average black creature, in that cost.
Fledgling Djinn
Nezumi Graverobber
Offalsnout
Magus of the Abyss
oh and Disfigure should be in the cube, must have missed typing it.
also im looking to add the following cards from MBS
Contested Warzone
Shimmer Myr
would be interested if any cubists have trialed them..
Magic Work Station Winston-180 http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=315755
these are excellent.
this looks very bad.
this looks decent but there's a lot of competition for the 4cc creature slot in black.
these both look very bad but i haven't tested them.

Viscera Seer -> Carnophage
Cemetery Reaper ->Nezumi Graverobber
would like to include Nezumi Graverobber Withered Wretch never worked well
Kederekt Parasite -> Dauthi Horror
Parasite is definately sub par, happy to replace with another one drop
Shadow Guildmage -> Fledgling Djinn
will include Djinn, but Shadow Guildmage does a lot in the cube, IMHO
Bloodthrone Vampire -> Oona's Prowler
i like Bloodthrone, though Prowler would be a nice card for re-animate
Urge to Feed -> Nantuko Shade
prolly not even going to replace UtF with Grasp of Darkness i like supporting tribes in the cube, and i like vampires, it has come up, btw
Guul Draz Vampire -> Dauthi Marauder
oh GDV is one of the best black one drops, i would maybe rate Will-o'-theWisp higher but i dont own to cube..
Necrotic Ooze -> Plague Sliver
Uhuh i know Juzam Djinn 2.0 is a staple..
Soul Collector -> Ob Nixilis, the Fallen
oh its morph, Soul Collector, has performed really well, and morphs play well in two player.
Midnight Charm -> Night's Whisper
Midnight Charm is modal removal, its so good bro, it has two and half ways to kill things..
Simulacrum -> Phyrexian Arena
oh this should already be in, i own and cube... my mistake with typing, again sorry
Tendrils of Corruption -> Graveborn Muse
yeah this is really solid CA
Dimir House Guard -> Braids, Cabal Minion
oh Dimir does well for me, transmutes for good things..
Eradicate -> Snuff Out
Snuff Out is good. though i like the permission element that black has with duress type effects, its nice to see their deck, but i guess Go for the Throat, does this at 2 mana..
Smallpox -> Innocent Blood
no. no. no. no.
Smallpox is Smallpox bro, its superior to Pox in every way.
Executioner's Capsule -> Terror
Big Game Hunter -> Boneshredder
oh personal preference, Boneshredder wont get in...
Big Game Hunter is not that good i know..
Marsh Casualties -> Bane of the Living
i have Black Sun's Zenith in atm, idk if Marsh Causalties is still a good card..
Consume the Meek -> Barter in Blood
CtM works ok as a SB card
Persecute -> Hymn to Tourach
would <3 the Susan Van Camp HtT, ill have to wait until i get to the capital, a freind at another card shot, will prolly sell me half the cards i still need to get for half price or AUS$.50 each cause hes a really nice guy
Ravenous Rats -> Liliana's Specter
rats are more splashable, i dont care about the body they leave behind
Dance of the Dead-> Animate Dead
Animate Dead will definately be getting cubed soon, though in place of Soul Exchange
Soul Exchange -> Necromancy
Necromany is definately a good card, pity about the art tho..
Magic Work Station Winston-180 http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=315755
firstly one drops are important, to a few archetypes, and i have a large-ish cube, i would prefer to increase the amount of one drops in all primary colours, esp. when i make the upgrade from 40 creatures to 50, increasing aggressive cards will be a priority.
of the one drop black creatures, Guul Draz Assassin might make it as the black level-up creature, the other level-up creatures have worked well. it looks really good, but strangely i havent gotten a copy yet..
@quitequieter
it works well actually, see discussion above
Magic Work Station Winston-180 http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=315755
i'm sure it works just fine as an alright removal spell, my point is that it would be better if it was easier to cast and had a more likely upside. having the vampire thing come up a few times doesn't justify all the times it doesn't come up (where it's strictly worse than last gasp and grasp of darkness). if it's coming up frequently, though, you guys must have weird luck.
no not weird luck, its not as powerful or colour freindly as GftT or Doom Blade, so its more likely to get played by a player heavy in black, which has a few vampires.
also i cut a few vampires recently, so ive been looking to put some more in..
looks like ill have to get a Guul Draz Assassin..
and hope and pray that Innistrad has a few more cheap vampires.
seriously though i have never seen someone say, during a game, "if this was Grasp of Darkness, i could have killed that guy.."
and putting a +1+1 counter on critters is nice, it messes with the combat math a little more than Grasp of Darkness.
Last Gasp is more colour freindly, but i have a few spells that are pretty similar.

If you need 4cc black creatures, why reject the very best black 4-drop: Braids, Cabal Minion? She's like 10x the card the House-Guard is. She's crazy good.
