MORTIVORE! Yes, that's right, your favorite creature pumped, regenerating lhurgoyf, mortivore!
So basically.... Yeah. I made a mortivore deck. Don't like it? So sue me. Well, actually i'd prefer feedback to being sued, but i suppose it's really up to you. Anyways, here's the list:
Nekrataal: Most people dont use black and artifact creatures, so it's removal on a body, and 2/1 first strike is decent.
Grave pact: Makes people hesitant about killing my creatures, and makes more creatures go to the grave.
Plagued Rusalka: It's a sac outlet that brings opponent's creatures with yours.
Stinkweed Imp: This card is tech. I can lay it out early to stem the flow of the creatures I haven't killed already, and when its dead, i can dredge it to dump more creatures in my yard.
Dimir House Guard: Ok, this card is just even more utter tech than the imp in this deck. It can fetch mortivore, wrath, nekrataal, and grave pact, and when you side them in, leyline and extraction, and gets another creature in your yard when you transmute it. But when you don't transmute it, its a way to get all your used up nekrataals and imps into the grave instantly. Utter tech.
Your deck seems creature light to me with only 20. Mortivore really wants a ton of guys in the 'yard so I would run at least 24 creatures here. Wrath of God is the obvious cut as it would clean up your mana base big time. Maybe cut them for nantuko husk or something.
You want a creature-heavy deck in case your opponent's is light on them, in order to ramp your morti up to a 5/5 or better asap.
Another option is to run a B/x or Black aggro deck full of cheaply costed threats and dark confidant/phyrexian arena, using mortivore as a finisher.
You can imagine something like...
turn 1: Rusalka
Turn 2: confidant
turn 3: hypnotic
turn 4: hand of cruelty, last-gasp.
Very much like the old KBC styles, putting heavy pressure on your opponent each turn. Obviously he'll respond, probably by wiping your board with an AoE spell. So now you've got 4 in your yard, 1 in his (most likely). Drop old man morti on turn 5 as a 5/5 with the mana open for regen.
Another fun way to play him is with cards like zombify and then traumatize. Trauma yourself, then either cast a mort or animate one, he ought to be 10/10 or better. Only drawback here is the expensive cost of trauma.
All right, i Dont really want to cut wrath, since like i said, it kind of puts a stopper on zoo. I do agree that i should add more creatures. I think a few Kokushos would be good, since it's an alternate win condition and I have ways to sacrifice it if need be. The only thing is, what to cut for it?
Instead of having creatures that look for things in your deck why not have that spot for a good creature?
So let's see what I would play taking under consideration that you are adding KokoPuff to the mix. This is without giving much thought what I would play.
Between the Golgari Thugs and the Gravediggers you should have enough ways to bring back the big boys in the late game and you wont have to worry about Wrathing the table and being left behind.
You could Opt for a more Dredge-Heavy build, going for the max amount of creatures being put into the grave yard as possible. The only downside to this is the dredging of your spells into your graveyard :\. A Mortivore deck centered around mass destruction spells doesn't have that much umph, though, as you are relying on your opponents playing alot of creatures. While this strategy would work great against Zoo, ww/r, any aggro deck in general, a dredge approach might work better against control. Just my opinion.
Some dredge cards to consider: Golgari Grave-Troll Golgari Thug Life from the Loam
Reanimation to consider: Zombify Vigor Mortis
(Thats about all the good renaimator spells in t2 :\)
I'll think of a rough dredge heavy decklist so you have an idea as to what im talking about .
If you're using 4 fetch-Guards, you don't need to four-of Wrath, Nekrataal, or Grave Pact. You could cut 1-2 Wraths an 1-2 Grave Pacts and a Nekrataal add in some more utility creatures or a secondary finisher (since if your Mortivores gets extracted the power of your deck goes waaaay down). You could use Ghost Council of Orzhova as another sac outlet for your own guys (to trigger Grave Pact perhaps). Plus, if you have 5 mana he dodges your own Wraths. And you can transmute for him. 1-2 copies would not be a terrible thing. Another possible secondary finisher would be the oh-so-bald Angel of Despair but seven mana might be a lot to ask for. Oh, the possibilities. Looks like a fun deck. A friend of mine built a Mortivore-as-finisher similar deck but utilizing green/black/blue for the secondary finisher/tech that is Golgari Grave-Troll (so similar to Mortivore in so many ways) and card draw-and-discard to make it super dredge-heavy. He calls it his "Standard Friggorid." It's not very powerful, as my Bloodmoon'd Gruul deck can beat it on turn 2 if I drop first turn Elves, second turn Moon, but it's a neato deck.
You definately need to run at least 24 creatures. A problem that you could run into otherwise are decks that run only a few finishers.
I'm not sure about running everyone's favorite dragon in this deck; he is a better finisher then mortivore and would far outshine him. I would go the fast creature route with magnivore and grave-troll as finishers.
i would run WBg for this, so we would have svogthos, the restless tomb to have mortivores 5-8, have acces to MORE DUALS!! teh 300 e manabases are here, get used to it have more dredge cards =) (stinkweed imp, and GOLGARI GRAVE TROLL!! the beatings are here then you need some way of gaining evesion to your creatures.. o naginata and loxodon warhammer seem nice
it also features nice toolbox with dimir house-guard =) i like toolboxes =)

Why not try the Orzhova method...Shrieking Grotusque, Ravenous Rats, Distress, etc. To force a lot of cards into the graveyard. Hoping most of them will be creatures, and even if they are not you will still be pretty good shape with your opponent not having a hand.
Okay, I like the idea of the deck, but does it really perform all that well? It looks to me like a weaker BW Control. The beauty of Magnivore is that he has haste. He can come down and smash face on the same turn.

4 Godless Shrine
4 Caves of Koilos
11 Swamp
5 Plains
4 Mortivore
4 Mortify
4 Last Gasp
4 Nekrataal
4 Grave Pact
4 Plagued Rusalka
4 Stinkweed Imp
4 Cranial Extraction
3 Pithing Needle
4 Leyline of the void
4 Shadow of Doubt
Here's some card explanation choices:
Mortivore: Duh.
Wrath of god: It gets a lot creatures into the yard, owns zoo.
Mortify: Nice removal, can shoot down enchantmnets, like Glare and stuff too.
Last gasp: More nice, cheap removal.
Nekrataal: Most people dont use black and artifact creatures, so it's removal on a body, and 2/1 first strike is decent.
Grave pact: Makes people hesitant about killing my creatures, and makes more creatures go to the grave.

Thoughts?
Golgari Thug would be a great addition as reusable Mortivore recursion.
Necroplasm could also be good.
Hope that helps.
