Just downloaded and created an account in MTGO. I was wondering how and what is the quickest way to get an exact replica of my real life deck onto MTGO? I want to atleast compete right away and build my deck.
Buying singles from bots/online stores is the fastest way.
Of course, the very first thing you should do is play a few games with the cards you got when you made the account. This is to get to know the interface before you enter a tournament and lose to time-out caused by fumbling around the interface.
I understand. I just got off playing a swiss-draft and it wasnt fun misclicking and not attacking due to hitting "ok" too fast.
Im also accepting donations of extra cards that the generous players might want to give up!
If you don't want to waste tickets in a daily / draft because you dont know the format i would recommend playing your deck in the casual / tournament testing room or try making a planeswalker deck.
Also... begging for cards usually isn't taken very well in this forum.
casual decks are REALLY cheap to put together. either do the planeswalker thing, or grab a cheap list from bots. do spend a lot of time in the casual room.
BUMP. I think I might just go 100% digital because I don't have the budget to run a paper carbon copy of my collection, besides digital is cheaper and I play so much more on it (also not the biggest fan of my lgs). Besides MTGOTraders and Capefeargames, are there any other stores that buy paper cards at good prices and offer incentives for trading to event tickets or bot credit?
As the guys have said, try to learn the interface first with casual/discount competitive decks (for T2, an elf deck would be cheap and quick to put together).
You can tweak your turn order and when the game stops (i.e. which parts of the turn it will pause at) in settings>gameplay. This is very important for instants. As I've played more I've found myself adding in more and more stops, but everyone has their own preference.
Thanks for the advice. Even I am newbie with decks and just learning the interface. Well, I think it will need lot of practice.
