The deck is for multiplayer, but i needed some non-black removal to deal with pro-black swords and such. Lightning Bolt is still the best red removal spell ever printed, so in it goes. It's also a chance to show off those classy alternate foils.
It will, thanks to a higher number of draw and removal spells, function decently in 1v1. It is fairly easy to draw 10 cards a turn and to clear the board at the same time.

Tantarus: It didn't make the gaka greifer level, so it should be fine
Ordinarily, i'd go for Pulse over S2S every time, but since i'm trying to put damage in, every little bit helps. It's the same reason i'm running Blightning, since the three damage and disruption drastically slows down opponents. I'm using pretty much all of my mana to play spells and to activate lyzolda, i cant afford to hold it back for pulse.

Have you thought about Skeletal Scrying over Ambitions Cost? Seems like it could be much more epic (although I don't have experience with either, so I don't know which is superior.)
(You totally need to make your Wydwen thread soon so I can troll all of them. Except Norin. Which is trollproof.)
If i didn't use my graveyard, I'd probably go with the Skeletal Scrying. Since i do, i've had fairly good experience with Ambition's Cost drawing me three.
The one draw spell i do not like anymore is Skulltap. So it's trawling through binder time.
Also - I'm not done with Wydwen yet, so no thread until it is done-ish.

I used to play it in a cooky CIP abilities deck. And would serve wonders with siege-gang commander and the like, and serve to recur them at the end of every players turn, so that helps too.

Necrotic Ooze combo package with: Sadistic Hypnotist Mogg Fanatic[/CARD] Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker
(Not to insult your intelligence, but to head off any questions for others that might not see the interaction: Play Necrotic Ooze, with Kiki-Jiki in the yard, along with either Fanatic or Hypnotist. tap the ooze to make a copy of itself, which can make a copy of itself, repeat ad nauseum. Then any of the ooze tokens can sac to deal a damage or make a player discard two cards.)
Seems a stretch, I know, but with both wheels, sac outlets, buried alive, and entomb, you can achieve this pretty easily/often. Also thinking of including Phyrexian devourer / Triskelion combo (but it can be tedious... so many judge calls when I played it with ooze in Legacy) Plus, neither of those are red or black creatures.
Horobi, Death's Wail interacts nicely with Lyzolda as well as with sharpshooter. Can always kill it with either of the aforementioned cards if it becomes a problem for you, also tutorable with Dimir House Guard. Crucible of Worlds might be useful to you considering you also have petrified field. I realize that crucible often draws hate, or makes you the Dbag. Totally your call depending on your play group. Puppeteer Clique Black Persist that goes well with sacrifice outlets, etc. I'm sure as a Claws of Gix player (I love Hanna too!) you know all the potential shenanigans with sac outlets and cards that remove things from the game. Corpse Dance more potential for abusing sacrifice outlets, generates some CA. Also a bit harder for opponents to play around than oversold cemetery. Cauldron Dance Looks pretty clunky.. until you play it and realize what a blowout it can be for an unsuspecting dance partner... who knew Lyzolda was such a good dancer.... ok I'll stop... Skinrender FTK that Kills things like Ezuri...Check! FTK that sacs to draw a card...Check!
Cards I don't play (Yes I know what opinions are like...)
Blightning (narrow, one time use. Hypnotist is amazing in its spot.)
Reanimate (ditto, using Puppeteer Clique instead)
Oversold Cemetery (How has this been for you? Sometimes this just fails to turn on when I want it to..)
All of the single target artifact/land destruction cards like Smash, StS, Terminate, Wrecking Ball, Aftershock, Lightning Bolt. I know you like the versitility, but I would rather play things that turn sideways, or sac to lyzolda like Vandal and Kavu. I may change my tune when someone drops a Torpor Orb on me however...
I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on these. Thanks for the inspiration on Hanna as well as Lyzolda. As a Sygg, River Cutthroat player I'm Looking forward to seeing your Wydwen deck as well.
The Hypnotist is nice, but sadly i'd rather my opponents had full grips for when Vicious Shadows comes in to kill everyone. I like the Vampire, though.
The other two dont fit so well into the deck, at rrr, kiki is rather color intensive and I dont really have anything to abuse ooze with as I run mainly ETB effects.
Horobi, Death's Wail interacts nicely with Lyzolda as well as with sharpshooter. Can always kill it with either of the aforementioned cards if it becomes a problem for you, also tutorable with Dimir House Guard.
Using pure logic - I dont like this card much, which is the main reason I dont run it nor care to.
Crucible of Worlds might be useful to you considering you also have petrified field. I realize that crucible often draws hate, or makes you the Dbag. Totally your call depending on your play group.
I dont really need to keep any single land alive too long (with maybe Crypt excepted) nor do i plan to abuse any land-based draw engines. Only try synergy I'd see here involves Reprocess... but that's not something i'd like to plan on. For now, Crucible will stay out of my list.

Both of these have made it into the new list for being awesome.... which of course i've neglected to update.

Blightning - correct, now gone.
Reanimate - It's too good. I wont run any deck that likes the grave without it.
Cemetery - It's terrible early game and only shines in attrition wars... which I always win. It's been cut.
Single Targets - I like having answers to whatever the board might develop. It really sucks knowing you could have stopped that combo if only you had Smash in your deck...
I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on these. Thanks for the inspiration on Hanna as well as Lyzolda. As a Sygg, River Cutthroat player I'm Looking forward to seeing your Wydwen deck as well.

I guess the argument for Hypnotist is that you have an opportunity to disrupt your opponents and buy time if you're going for another plan besides vicious shadows. (I'm also speculating that Hanna has taught your opponents to hang onto their Krosan Grips )
The fact that we run so many ETB effects makes Kiki-Jiki especially brutal. Remember that we don't always have to pay RRR, since we run reanimation effects like living death and Balthor, the defiled.
The Ooze combo is just another option in case we don't find our Altar/Deathmantle/Token Guy combo. (I've considered running Hoarding Dragon to help find the pieces though!
I've also been testing: Urabrask the Hidden (plays pretty well with the beatdown plan, and can delay a lot of the token strategies and utility generals that like to wear Lightning Greaves.)
I've also been thinking about converting this deck into Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper. I like the utility of Green ETB creatures like Woodfall Primus, Acidic Slime, Indrik Stomphowler, etc. The Altar/Deathmantle combo also works with Sek'Kuar, but admittedly in a different way. Additionally I enjoy the opportunity to play green mana ramp spells to get ahead. I think many of the spot removal spells in this deck could be replaced with ramp, especially as we add more efficient ETB creatures. Also a fan of living the dream that is Aluren + Endless Cockroaches
Just wanted to tell you I played this deck over cockatrice, and it has absolutely amazing synergy! I haven't found many nit picks, just the obvious enchantment destruction issues, maybe spine of ish sah? or something idk :/
