The next installment in what may become a series of commons-only decks, this deck has a linear strategy with a bunch of interchangeable cards. Shirei really does let you live the dream and "blink" stuff in and out over and over again.
A lot of the creatures would be just terrible in any other deck, but hey, don't judge. Discern.
The ultimate goal of this deck is to strip everyone of their hands and force them into topdeck mode, eventually enforcing it with a hard- or soft-lock via things like Chimney Imp or Thoughtpicker Witch. Once everyone is running on fumes, you'll be gaining lots of value each turn by constantly sacrificing and recurring your army of 1-power dorks, eventually winning with beats from +1/+1 counter pumps, cumulative drain effects, or token swarms.
Board sweepers throw a massive wrench in our plans, so we have a variety of big reclamation effects: Death Denied, Disturbed Burial, Grim Harvest, Reaping the Graves, and Urborg Uprising all help us recover quickly. We're also packing every decent (and some questionable) methods of raw card draw to keep things flowing smoothly.
The deck is slow as all get out and is fairly easy to disrupt, but it usually just keeps going when by all accounts it should roll over and die. It has a glass jaw, but it's a monster when it works. It's good to go against other pauper decks, but might need some oomph against regular EDH opponents.
This is where you come in. How do I make this more competitive whilst keeping the all commons theme? We need more resiliency and more brutality -- help would be much appreciated.
Unfotunately chainers edict, whispersilk cloak, strip mine, and ashnods altar are uncommon....if you absolutely must stick to commons... Tortured existence and stinkweed imp would be a good inclusions.... Maybe blood pet, armored thrull, overeager apprentice, fume spitter, Insidious bookworms, soldevi adnate, undertaker, Walking atlas....
Now if uncommons are fair game.... Then you'd really be good to go
These cards though were all printed at common at one time or another though, so while they may have been printed at uncommon a majority of times they were printed at common atleast once
Strip Mine is listed as uncommon on magiccards.info, but one of the four Antiquities versions was printed on the common sheet, so it's fair game in pauper. The more you know...
Fume Spitter is superb, but he's already in the deck. The others have all been included as some point or another and have been found wanting -- the ones with tap effects (like Armor Thrull) are too slow. Tortured Existence and/or Undertaker may come back in at some point, though.
I did find another superb recursion spell, though: Shattered Crypt is simply a bomb. It comes in for Disciple of the Vault, which I wanted to be really good here, but isn't.
I also noticed you have all the transmute cards except Brainspoil on the list. Maybe it doesn't fetch enough, but it does get chimney imp. Plus in a punch It is a removal spell.
Death Bomb isn't horrible and it sacs a guy. Blister Beetle is ok for slow removal (not as good as fume spitter)
Have you tried cards like Blood Pet or Myr Moonvessel as mana sources?
I played against Riku, Momir Vig, Wort, the Raidmother and Child of Alara (based on Your build). It all would have been great if it wasn't for the Child of Alara deck. This deck really needs to find some more ways to protect Shirei.
A lot of the creatures would be just terrible in any other deck, but hey, don't judge. Discern.

I'm a big fan of Soldevi Adnate in Shirei and it is common. I run it in both of my Shirei Decks.
None of these may be good ideas but:
They aren't horribly good but you can pile up a bunch of life lose with Bile Urchin, and Death Cultist.
Merrow Bonegnawer isn't horrible to add if you need more graveyard hate.
Blood Seeker is also conditionally good.
Tainted Well cantrips and screws a problem land.
I also noticed you have all the transmute cards except Brainspoil on the list. Maybe it doesn't fetch enough, but it does get chimney imp. Plus in a punch It is a removal spell.

Explorer's Scope for ramping? Leonin Bola for tapping?
aslo a bit of a stretch but Wail of the Nim any good?
