Avast Landlubbers! I'm sure this has been done before, but I'm in the process of crafting a seafarer-themed deck; A deck filled with legendary tales, vast oceans, sea monsters, trickery, pirates and all manner of miscreants. Enjoy your stay!
As you can see, it's still missing 18 cards. I'm trying to keep it on-theme as possible, but I don't know if I can =\
Are there enough cards? How far should I deviate from the theme? Remember this is pauper, so common cards only! Also the other problem is the deck suck currently. Any way to make it better while still staying on-theme?
I was going to suggest some Magic cards, but TobyornotToby named them all.
Seriously though, the only cards I can think of that haven't been listed:
Undertaker -- allows for repeatable abuse of ETB effects and turns dead topdecks into gas. You could make the argument that she's some sort of voodoo priestess like Calypso in those terrible Pirates of the Caribbean sequels, and everyone knows having women on board is bad luck on the high seas.
Mind Extraction -- only good if you're going to be playing against decks that share colors with yours, but if they are, this card is so good it makes me cry. Flavor-wise, it has Crovax in the picture, and Crovax was once a shipmate on the Weatherlight. You even have the Weatherlight doing a barrel roll in the picture of Capsize. It's probably listing to one side because Crovax is so fat.
Awesome deck. I've seen Ramirez pirates and Ramirez pauper, but blending the two is brilliant.
So I've made the last of the changes. Added in some rats..took out Gush because the foil was $30 (WTH..?) I bit the bullet and ordered the whole deck, with foils where possible, for like $40..yay!
I'm going to test it out, so I'll let you guys know if it's terrible or not..

Any help would be appreciated!
Even add some Reef Pirates to fit the theme!
Wash out is pretty darn good mass unsummon. It can be a blowout against elves.

Leonin Scimitar
Sisay's Ring
Vendetta
Function and some Flavor:
Death Denied
Drift of Phantasms
False Demise
Last Gasp
Prismatic Lens
Trinket Mage
Ur-Golem's Eye
Mostly Function so my deck doesn't suck:
Crypt Rats
Dimir Signet
Executioner's Capsule
Mnemonic Wall
Mystical Teachings
Nihil Spellbomb
Rend Flesh
Undertaker
In all seriousness, you should stock up on the vermin. They love ships. Ravenous Rats come highly recommended. There are also Earsplitting Rats, Lab Rats, and Rotting Rats.
I'm going to test it out, so I'll let you guys know if it's terrible or not..
