Not having to wait 55 minutes for someone to take their turn, with an $800+ deck, selecting what cards they would like, how big their hand size is, counter your stuff and theirs being uncounterable??
I'm disappointed they banned Jace, because I feel it was unnecessary, but I am very happy Stoneforge was banned. In the few hours since the announcement I've mentally brewed and discarded about 6 different decks already, which just goes to show how much it was strangling the meta.
I think that Jace had the same strangling effect. I hated mentally brewing decks and always comming to the conclusion that a creature wasn't good enough because it didn't pass the jace test.
Standard is great now. We have Valakut, Splinter Twin, RDW, control decks, and various aggro decks all competing in the new meta. The new meta is going to be lots of fun.
Not really. I mean, in one respect I don't care, but in another I realize that Caw-Blade was holding back more of the non-interactive decks in the format. And I like playing the game, not watching someone else play and/or ignore my existence.
Someone has to do a "Russian Dimitri" video about this:
"So, do you play std?"
"No..."
"Why not?"
"I don't like it. Jace the Mindsculptor and SFM are too strong. You have to play them."
"They got banned today."
"What?!"
"They got banned today!"

my friend just texted me the news and I was like...
good bye caw blade

Why is it that I so often find that a poll doesn't have an option that accurately reflects my feelings?
I do actually care, but I suppose that on balance I'm neutral on the subject. On one hand, not having to face Caw-Blade any more is nice, but on the other, I don't agree with the reasons behind the banning. I understand why Wizards did it, but I think it's a shame they let their priorities wander like this.
I'm pleased with them. Price wasnt an issue for me, I haven't been playing standard because it has pretty much been cawblade mirrors or bust, so I'll probably start playing it again.
Simple yes/no, with no complaining or moaning
Bannings = Impressive.

While I don't play Type 2 right now this encourages me to start again.
I'm surprised that they haven't been pulled in other formats but I'm guessing those formats weren't as crippled as Type 2 was.

Lover of EDH, hater of whiny EDH players.
