Mogg Maniac would be alright for a Nin target. Seriously can't believe any group would ban Stuffy Doll. What's your groups full ban list?
I need to think on the deck a little, and see your ban list, before I can give my thoughts on this. Love Nin in the big chair, but no Stuffy Doll hurts.
I cant remember all of it, its 2 pages long.
Cards with a win condition, Consecrated Sphinx, Eldrazi (the mythic one), most of the cards from the "official" list (but not balance)
And mostly one of the 2 cards-combo going for one shot kill
Ex: beacon/false cure, beacon is banned.
Or bear umbra/aggraveted assault/hellkite charger: they kept bear umbra but banned the other...
That kind of things. Im not good with all the choice they made, but we have to deal with them.
So... about the Jackal Pup: i want to be able to give it to other player, but i really dont like the Chromeshell Crab, and dont have any other idea (maybe you do). So ive put him in anyway, turn 1 its a good beater, later just meat for the Capricious Efreet or help with the Soul Conduit.
But yes I could change him (and probably will) for the Maniac.
I cant remember all of it, its 2 pages long.

Who's the "they" in that sentence? If it's one or two people why doesn't the rest of the group express their displeasure?
I have seen some ridiculous house rule bannings, but Beacon, Aggravated Assault, Hellkite Charger? WTF? Did they ban Wall of Blood since it's a two-card combo with Rite of Consumption or Repay in Kind?
"Cards with a win condition." - Does that include Squire since damage is a win condition?
Words of War might be worth looking into as it could turn some of that drawing into some pretty intense damage.
Both Wheel of Fortune and Wheel of Fate could be stupid here, and in my Nin deck either of these mixed with a well placed Cerebral Vortex(possibly copied multiple times) have stolen me the game.
Expect a pretty big post before the day ends from me, I'll gather my thoughts up and lay what I come up with out there. I'm fine with build restrictions (see my restrictions for old world charm lol), I just need to have an idea of what I'm working with.
Violence will draw tons of hate, but makes Nin do double damage and only half draw. Both gauntlets, Planar Lens, and Caged Sun(I think) would be nuts, but like the donate idea would prompt changes to make good use of, stuff with more X xasting costs.
Spelling and tags will be fixed when I get to a computer.
I know stuffy doll should be there, but its banned in my playgroup:(
Well at least they haven't caught on to the fact that Nin will be the most broken, busted card allowed in your deck. Unfortunately, I doubt you'll get a lot of meaningful help from us if your banlist is two pages long and includes such SCARY cards as Stuffy Doll...
You don't need to work that hard to have a good Nin deck. She doesn't require a lot of building-around. People tend to overthink her getting so excited about killing their own creatures. You don't have to kill them. Just hit them enough that they don't die and play some fatties that can take 4 or 5 damage without taking a dirt nap. Or kill them anyway and draw 8 cards. Just one late-game activation is all you need to just bury your opponents in card advantage and oppressive game-ending spells. Do you guys allow Insurrection?
Just play good cards and you will own. No need to include stuff like Mogg Maniac and friends.
Alright, first thing I'm noticing is there are a few of what I'd call vanilla creatures, creatures that do little more than turn sideways for damage with little to no evasion. I personally try to make every creature count for as much as it can.
Vanilla creatures I'm noticing, and let us know what your thoughts on them are:
A few of them seem like they might be alright, though perhaps there are better options. Moltensteel Dragon seems like it could swoop in for a fast kill, and is easy to pump. Rockslide Elemental could grow fast, and might be working out with your general (if so then disregard), but it has been my experience that when creatures are hitting the yard it's usually a wrath sending them there. Cosi's Trickster doesn't seem like it would grow big very quickly, are your opponents shuffling so much that this card is just wrecking people? Akki Underling, Halimar Wavewatch, and Wall of Stone are just plain...well, they're plain.
There's a few suggestions for creatures you could improve upon. I have to agree with SuperSonik in that you don't have to build the deck around Nin, the Pain Artist, look at the deck in my sig and you'll see that. She's just a nice bonus for the deck.
If you want something big and dumb to hit with Nin, like the wall of stone, you might look into some of the indestructible creatures around, you can beat them all day long, and most make better walls than that one.
Incendiary Command has always struck me as not very useful in EDH, I've always had it on the table for any deck with red and it has never made the cut.
I like the equipment line up but would suggest Quietus Spike for deathtouch and serious damage to players, or Sword of Kaldra (I know it's expensive mana wise) as it lets you take care if those hard to deal with critters you may run into.
If you're going to run Extraplanar Lens I would suggest loading up on Snow-Covered lands to keep the benefits mostly for yourself.
I think every deck with blue in it should have Capsize in the lineup, it's saved my life many times.
You should look into a few tutors to help you get what you need like Gamble, Mystical Tutor, or Merchant Scroll might do wonders for the deck.
Like any Izzet project, there's a chance this deck is trying to do too much without doing enough of any one thing right, but at least it'll be a different game every time.
One question that really needs to be asked is what exactly do you want the deck to do well at?
first, just stop making fun of the banned list i have to work with...:D and yes, i can play insurrection:cool2:
So, what i want to try and do with Nin, is yes draw card myself if i can, but also kill creatures with her and turn the drawing effect in a not so good one for my opponent (thats why ive put Vicious Shadow in it (its the first card ive think about when ive see Nin the first time), and i found Psychic Possession so interesting). Too bad Underworld Dream not in the color !
The "vanilla" creature are just there as early beater, as well as good cheap clamp/nin target later in the game. I could as well change the Wall of Stone for a Darksteel Myr? That should do it, in fact, do it better.. I like the Rockslide Elemental and the Moltenstell dragon, but i can take out the other without problems.
Im also taking out the command, and put the gauntlet in (play some game with it so far, and more mana will be real good)
Take out the training Ground (with all the gauntlet, not really necessary now) and in Capsize
I also play Weiss Schwarz, Chaos, Vanguard and Wixoss.
Weiss Schwarz Sets
Accel World, Angel Beats, Familiar of Zero, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, Guilty Crown, Kill La Kill, Robotics;Notes, Sword Art Online.
Chaos Partners
Arpeggio of Blue Steel: Iona, Kirishima, Kongou.
Dangan Ronpa: Asahina, Togami.
Freezing: Vibration: Chiffon, Satelizer.
Vanguard Clans Favoured
Angel Feather, Dark Irregulars, Genesis, Neonecter, Pale Moon, Shadow Paladins, Tachikaze.
Molten Psyche is a nice way to fix a bad hand, and with metalcraft could be a second Cerebral Vortex. I might throw this one in my Nin deck, been looking at it for a while.
If you can get your hands on them Time Spiral, Time Reversal, and/or Timetwister are all fantastic ways to refill your hand, reuse your graveyard, and they all hate on graveyard recursion lol.
I really like where this decklist is going so far!
Just add a sword of War and Peace for the storm seeker effect.
Molten Psyche will make me loose buyback spells if i have any in my hand, but on the other side could do some real damage... Time Spiral would be also interesting since i dont use my graveyard with this deck, and a lot of other players abuse it all the time...:)
What do you think about Forced Fruition and Wheel and Deal?
Wheel and Deal is nice because in a pinch it can be used to throw someone off, and it's 7 cards drawn. Windfall could be put to really good use for the same reason, and if used correctly could refill your hand. Trade Secrets might also work here. Forced Fruition could work, but in many cases I've found it to either be a win more card or to just draw way too much hate, it's probably personal preference.
Something like Seismic Assault might work out well with all the drawing/discard effects, especially with the spells that shuffle your yard into the library, or Crucible of Wolrds. You could respond to EOT discard, either of the wheel of cards, basically any spell that makes you discard to draw or shuffle your hand/yard.
I've been working mainly on my Zedruu and Bolas decks, but this deck has got me thinking about Nin and many of these ideas I should be trying to fit into my own deck. Love the thread and the direction you're going with this deck.
I dont have all the cards we discused so far, so im gonna go for some trade and will be able to test the deck tomorrow. Will give you update on it after that.

Play the deck last night, make some update on the decklist.
I have to say that it perform much better than i could have hope!
I manage to have Nin, Vicious Shadow, Niv Mizzet and Psychic Possession on the board in the same time, with a hand full to back Forbit so i was able to protect my things.
Defeat a Sharuum's infinite gravestorm combo, a Sliver deck, a Sygg and a token deck.
Ive taken out the Core Augur, end up discarting him for my dreamscape artist yesterday, not much use.
Replace it by a Glen Elendra Archmage, will help protecting my things a little more.
In the Quietus Spike, out the Magebane Armor.
And a couple of other thing.
Ill probably replace the Cunning Sparkmage with a Sharpshooter.

Might I suggest looking into Shield Sphere for the deck? It provides a decent deterrent to early attacks, as well as functioning as a giant colorless butt to nuke with your own Nin for up to 5 cards at a time without killing it. I mostly like it because of the free-ness, as you really want to be able to leave mana up often in Nin decks.
Another change to the decklist, add Firestorm and im very happy with how effective it can be for just 1 mana.
What i really like from this deck so far is how many of the cards in it work together.
Psychic possession is probably one of the key card in it, along with Nin of course:rolleyes:, Vicious Shadow, Niv-Mizzet/Psychosis Crawler and Molten Psyche/ Cerebral Vortex.
Ive kill with a Runeflare trap/Minds Aglow and Adamaro First to Desire (that creature really good in this deck after all).
Also Mogg Maniac and Gratuitous Violence, and even a lifelink Moltensteel Dragon (a good plan B if the other things dont work)
Forbid and the Archmage are crucial, along with all the gauntlet and other mana source (Nin need a lot of fuel).
For that reason will want to add a Force of Will, it will be a good help to be able to counter without mana.
So far one of my favorite EDH.

If that's the rout you want to go I'd suggest finding a few more things to give people, or dropping the pup.
Another option, as Consecrated Sphinx has been banned, Psychic Possession could work in a pinch.
