I've always loved the flavor of the card, and the deck isn't meant to be terribly competitive. It's been really fun the times I've played with it, and it's my least common general, so I've come to take some pride in it. It's meant to control the board and encourage my opponents to attack each other until I can drop some finishers for the win. It struggles against non-creature strategies, obviously, but I'm trying to find a balance so I don't have too much creature hate. It's also fairly budget minded (for instance, I know it needs a tundra), any cards worth anything are things that I just had around.
You've got some great etb/ltb ability creatures and a few cards that abuse them (Venser, Witch). Have you considered going a little heavier in that direction?
The Grand Arbiter deck in my sig gets commanded by Gwafa a lot, and is all about abusing those abilities.

I've thought of that, or giving it an enchantment theme. (Sigil of the Lost Throne, Enchantment "removal", enchantresses, etc.) I should probably give venser and the witch a few more targets, but I don't think I want to go balls out. Which do you consider your best targets?
I've never seen WoD played in EDH. You seem to think it's pretty awesome. It seemed good, but not good enough to me.

I don't know that I'd call it "awesome", but really good, easily recurrable defense, yes. He encourages other players to not attack you and go for an easier target. Seriously? You haven't seen him played nor think he's good enough for edh? I'd probably argue he protects you a lot better than Windborn Muse. Maybe it's just personal tastes, but a recurrable, 8 toughness, flying wall with shroud seems like pretty good defense.
