So someone threw this on my desk at work yesterday and I was reading it and the more and more I read the more retarded I felt. I honestly never knew that crap like this could be printed. I mean I believe in the power of empathy and I'm willing to change my opinion on this issue if there's sufficient proof but WOW what random claims this thing makes.
oh man, the natural progression of new age is into psudo-science.
At least is a cheaper alternivite for kids then medication, better for there self-respect also. Instead of being told "you and your behavior are a problem" they are told "you are very special, you have powers"

I've tried.
Jace on the other hand gives you card advantage for no life cost. On the contrary, Jace can actually take some damage for you. I'd think that makes him better than Arena.
Sheesh! I stopped reading when I got to: "He had embellished certain parts to make the story more exciting, he acknowledged, but the essence of the book was true. He called it allegorical nonfiction."
Im a decently open minded person. I believe that empathy exists and,on rare occasion, anyone can have a momentary insight that is near psychic, but this seems to reek of a scam.
I get an impression that a lot of these people are trying to fill a void. Of what? I don't know. Perhaps Dusk and Day can shed some light
All I know is, someone is going to write one hell of an anime off this ****.
Thats from a show on Nickelodian called Avatar. ROFLcopter.
Dude, that first page, about the Indigos, would make an awesome book .
Imagine if the kid had been watching Pokemon or something.
"My kid is an indigo kid. He's a little furry monster that travels around in balls, fighting other little furry monsters with out ever getting hurt. He is the next stage in human evolution. I didn't believe it at first, but then I saw a propoganda film and saw others dads sending there kids to battle each other.
I knew it was true."

Or Yu-Gi-Oh.
"My kid is an Indigo. He waits inside a deck of cards, until someone plays him, and then he fights the opposing monster, unless he is playing Keiba, because then he would lose, because Keiba has Blue Eyes White Dragon, and there is no way in hell my son could kill that thing."

This borders on criminal neglect. These people should all undergo psychiatric evaluations. They're just a bunch of mentally brittle people taking advantage of a child's ignorance and desperation to fit in, and convincing him he has special powers when in fact what he has is potentially a serious, lifelong mental disorder.
Call me crazy but I think there is a bit of truth in it all. I mean we have known for a long time that kids with ADD tend to be smart and rather intuitive, so there is nothing new there. And leading a more agrarian lifestyle could very well help people with ADD - look back 200 years and do you see much complaints about kids with ADD-like symptoms? No.
However all the stuff about "indigo kids" being more evolved and what-not is a lot of b.s. if you ask me. Just because a person is really intuitive doesn't mean that they should be allowed to not pay attention in school. I myself am ADD, and I know first hand that sometimes the best way to learn isn't in the traditional American public school setting. I think the best way to deal with these kids is a combination of traditional and alternative medicine and teach kids in the way they learn best.
I agree. This is corny as heck; as it has been filtered through ignorance. This very well could be possible, but when I think about the "I'm an avatar," Dusk said. "I can recognize the four elements of earth, wind, water and fire. The next avatar won't come for 100 years" part, I shunt it off and restrain myself from throwing up. C'mon, people, why are we always getting this weird nature/ spirituality stuff getting in the way of science? Okay, so this is pseudo-science, but if we can research it more unhindered by this rubbish, maybe it won't be pseudo-science. LIke, what does 100 years have to do with anything? First of all, 100 is a base-10 number, any universal number system is probably going to be a binary system. Second, why a year? That's once around the sun. Once around for this insignificant planet. But I digress. Whatever. That's just my opinion.
If there's something to be learned through the study of people with ADD I'm fine with it. I can accept that they have to learn through more unconventional methods and I'd even be willing to figure out what the best way to teach them was because I have always loved teaching people things. It'd be an interesting thing to step into the mind of someone who's constantly bouncing around. Maybe the world is too slow for people like that and right now human genetics make it impossible for them to go as fast as they need to. But the next level of evolution.... and I wasn't invited? Ugh. So not fair.

It's significant because that is how it works on the nickelodean show. If the rest of the article had some evidence and/or thought put into it, that itself would make me disbelieve it. Too bad I didn't believe it in the first place. I mean, yes, many ADD and ADHD kids are smart, but this is BS. Plus, how can we see the "Blue Aura" around them? Is it only seen by a select few, or only seen by indigo chidren themselves?
This thing has as much scientific basis as Intellegent Design. I hate when people try to pass off guesses and crazy theories as true doctrine.
EDIT: Yeah.. I took that quiz too. The questions basically say that people that are willing to lie or have mental problems, or are smart are indigo children. It physically pained me to answer some of the questions, they were so obvious. If I wanted to be an indigo child, I could lie may way through it easy. As is, I have a high chance... but mostly because I was blessed with intellegence and don't like traditional teaching methods and school systems.
Is it just me, or is the whole Indigo phemonenon just an example of extreme narcissism. Just look at the pictures of the kid; he looks like the ultimate poseur psychic. And don't even get me started on the dad.
EDIT: the more I read into this, the more I realize my loathing of everything New Age.

This is really utter crap. So i guess all the noice i have in my head (i do have noice, but its my own thought, im sure) is actually from others? Then why all the long silences too.
Meh, boring story, im going to absorb some minds or something with my newfound abilities. This could come in handy in a game of magic though. Cabal Therapy you for that card second to the left, *insert name*.
But me having Attentio..... Attention Def...... Att... Def..... who are you again?
I love the part after the guy says he is an avatar, and he asks the kid, "what am I thinking?" Then the kid shrugs and the guy goes, "it's okay, we'll do it again later when no one is around" LOL. Don't look now, but the kid isn't special, can't read minds, isn't psychic in anyway, and needs some ritalin.
Ya, some ADD kids are smart, and others are complete dumbasses. I know more stupid ADD kids than smart ones. I don't belive this one bit, and I also can't belive that people are trying to pawn it off as the next leap in evolution. Please.
Yeah... I have a neighbor with ADD, and he not only has ADD, but is a complete dumbass. ADD does not mean you are smart, but it does not disqualify from being smart as some people believe.
i believe this as much as i believe bush. this is complete bs. if they really were the next step in evolution, dont you think that they could pay attention to stuff? no offence to anyone, but i also dont buy the "different kinds of smart" preaches anyway. they keep inventing excuses for idiots, so that the morons dont realize the fact that they are morons.
We live in a country were ~50% of the populace believe public schooling is a socialist conspiracy and that being called Einstein is an insult. We could try and fix it, but unfortunately the other 50% don't believe in euthanasia.
Ah the bliss of ignorance. At least, i believe thats what you are talking about. A great thing i once heard: Intelligence is a gift, but ignorance is bliss.... or something like that. I just thought it interlocks nicely. Anyhow, i never believe anyone that has the face of a chimp or who wears anything made out of goatswool, as should everyone else
Looks like a spin-off of the "Appalachian blue people." Excessive inbreeding in mammals causes blueness and mild mental disorders like ADD. It doesn't cause telepathy.
Wasn't there a videogame a little while ago called indigo prophecy? Didn't that have the "Indigo Child" in it? I'm not sure, but I thought I remember hearing that. If so, was that kids based off these Indigo Children, or was it just coincidence/ not a real connection.
The funny thing is, I have all of the mental disorders that they listed for mental disorders that would classify you as an Indigo Child. But, also, I first heard about this from some kid at school, saying he was one of them. I actually sorta believed him, although I kinda started thinking he was wacko afterwards. This is different, but it does have some aspects that are true. First of all, from my standpoint, I do like to be alone, and I work better alone too. I also am smarter and more creative than most people. But, most of all, I have borderline psychic abilities (IMO), such as being able to see through things if I concentrate enough (funny, because I wear glasses).
I took that survey, and promptly started laughing my butt off. It was rediculous.
I have a disorganized mind, I think at a million miles an hour, and I get ideas from nowhere. I'm constantly frustrated with the state of the world, and I constantly try to think of new things.
Am I creative? Yes
Do I have ADD? probably
Does this mean I'm a psychic? Not a chance.

Yeah, great solution. Kid's got some problems? Dope them up till you don't notice any more! What is it with America and Ritalin?

Definitely. How can people be this crazy? Instead of saying that it is true, go prove it! It is very easy to prove something that exists, right?...
